This is the most well-kept motel you can stay at in Starkville. The room I stayed at was remarkably clean, and the atom-age-esque theme they're going for is very well executed. I would stay here again if I need a place to stay for a night. Great place!

Stayed 1 night

While planning a road trip from our home in MN to visit friends in AL, we were googling places to stay along the way and just happened upon the Far Out Motel by accident for our last place before getting there. We thought it’d be just a whimsical place. What a find! Built sometime in the late 60’s early 70’s the motel has been given a new life, yet keeping its history! The room we stayed in was completely remodeled with the largest flat screen TV we’ve ever seen in a Motel. The revitalized ‘pool’ area was the perfect place to enjoy our take out dinner of pizza (we didn’t want to eat in the room). The King size bed was the most comfortable one we had on our entire trip! The bedding, especially the comforter felt like sleeping in a marshmallow (It was so soft)! I should mention that we drove about 6 to 7 hours a day and stayed at two other motels on this trip, in Iowa and Missouri that were ok, but we had the best night sleep here!. We also like that we can park right in front of our door, no stairs or elevators. This has the cleanest parking lot and the only private outdoor revamped ‘pool’ space! So, we booked the same room for our trip back, had takeout BBQ in the ‘un-pool’ and once again had the best night sleep (marshmallow bedding!) from the 2 different places we stayed at on the way home. Next road trip to Alabama, we’ll be staying here again!

Far Out Motel was a fun discovery! Unique and nostalgic, but with modern conveniences and super clean. Love the area and the room was perfect for our short stay in Starkville. The air conditioner is as icy cold and the beds were incredibly comfy. We will definitely be back!
