The renovations are very nice. The staff were excellent in friendliness, and proficiency, (they never questioned a request - just immediately delivered on it). The room in the renovated section was very large, modern, comfortable and included a good sized mini-fridge with glass door. The south west view from the balcony was outstanding as you overlook the valley and can see as far away as the Ste Sauveur ski hills. The food was always good. For breakfast we always had the buffet. Always a large selection of well prepared, great tasting food with the option for either the eggs/bacon/ham/french toast options or fruit/yogurt/"home made" breads and healthy muffins. I gauge breakfast buffets by the scrambled eggs.In most hotels, they are often powdered or taste that way. The Mt Gabriel's scrambled eggs alway tasted like real eggs and were fresh. Check out was fast - all I had to do was hand in the door cards and shortly after the paid bill appeared in my email. After 25+ years of business travel over North America and Europe, this is one of a small number of hotels I would come back to. Located at the top of Mt Gabriel in the Laurentians the hotel is upscale but also offers outdoor service around the pool or tables with wood fires at night to enjoy the fresh mountain air. Watching the sun set over the mountain tops while enjoying a wood fired pizza and craft beer was in the very large outdoor patio is an unforgettable ay to end a day.

Déçue.Très belles installations, mais malheureusement très très peu d'insonorisation et d'organisation, ce qui ruine complètement l'expérience de relaxation. On entend absolument tout ce qui se passe dans le couloir, y compris les enfants qui crient et courent à 23h30. D'ailleurs, c'est un hôtel qui accueille énormément de familles avec enfants ( j'imagine en raison de la saison estivale et des mariages...). On ne s'y attendait pas forcément. Un mariage a eu lieu le même weekend et nous n'avons pas été avertis ni au booking ni au check-in. Malheureusement pour nous, nous étions très très proches de la salle de réception, (pavillon Montagne, chambre 1305) et nous entendions la musique forte le samedi soir qui a persisté jusqu'à les minuit-1h. Finalement, si vous avez le malheur comme nous de dormir à côté d'une chambre qui accueille un chien, vous serez également réveillés samedi et dimanche matin par des aboiements incessants pendant plusieurs minutes, car votre voisin de chambre décide de quitter sa chambre et enfermer son chien dans la chambre. Nous avons parlé du mariage à la réceptionniste avant de quitter. On nous a retiré les frais d'hôtel ( 25$/nuit), mais de par ses réponses, absolument rien n'aurait pu être fait car " on n'aurait pas pu savoir au moment du booking si le mariage aurait eu lieu au même moment" et apparemment, ils ne peuvent pas non plus s'assurer de placer les gens qui ne font pas partie du mariage dans un autre pavillon...Permettez-moi d'en douter.
