Wishing Tree Boutique Resort and Spa - Haputale's Panoramic Hideaway

One of the best hotels I’ve ever been to! The room was perfect and the staff were beyond helpful. We did yoga everyday, met the local, saw the pottery and had a cooking class. Dinesh was lovely and very helpful, and made our stay one of the best in Sri Lanka.

Truly an amazing experience at the Wishing Tree, one of the most beautiful hotels and places we have stayed at! The staff was exceptionally friendly, probably the best we’ve ever experencied. Sambaj(manager) took us on complementary hikes, and the food was incredible! Another plus is that always made sure that I had an ice cold Lion Lager in my hand :)

I have stayed in many hotels around the world and Wishing Tree Boutique and Resort ranks right at the top. The views are unreal and impossible to recreate. Waking up to that scenery alone makes the stay special. The staff are outstanding. Warm, welcoming and genuinely happy. Service was spot on throughout, attentive when needed but never intrusive. They struck the perfect balance and gave great local recommendations without ever being pushy. A special mention to Sampath, the manager, who is exceptional. He is attentive, present and clearly takes real pride in the experience of every guest. Nothing was too much trouble and he went above and beyond to make sure everything ran perfectly. The food was excellent. Authentic Sri Lankan dishes were outstanding and the chef’s twists on European classics worked very well. I also did the hotel’s three hour walking tour which was fantastic. Beautiful scenery, local nature, temples and even seeing pottery being made. A really memorable experience. Rooms were comfortable, clean and well thought out and the whole place feels calm, personal and high quality. I would absolutely stay again.

Ein wirklich spektakulärer Aufenthalt, der uns noch lange in Erinnerung bleiben wird. Die Küche war eine kleine Entdeckungsreise für sich: authentisch, herrlich abwechslungsreich und durchweg köstlich — traditionell im Charakter, aber auf Wunsch jederzeit ergänzt um europäische Alternativen, etwa beim Frühstück. Ganz besonders ans Herz gewachsen sind uns Priyantha und sein Team. Aufgesetzte Freundlichkeit sucht man hier vergeblich — stattdessen begegnet man echter Herzlichkeit und einem aufrichtigen Interesse am Wohlbefinden der Gäste, das in jeder Geste spürbar wird. Wünsche werden einem regelrecht von den Lippen abgelesen, oft schon erfüllt, bevor man sie ausgesprochen hat. Auch die Organisation rund um den Aufenthalt war erstklassig: die Fahrer für den Flughafentransfer und die Ausflüge vor Ort, ebenso wie die ausgewählten Guides — durchweg überragend und mit viel Liebe zum Detail. Unvergessliche Momente am Diyaluma Wasserfall und bei Lipton’s Seat haben den Aufenthalt perfekt abgerundet. Wir kommen definitiv wieder — ein absoluter Geheimtipp.​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​
