I had booked a room with City view - in principle this hotel don't have that. They gave me a room higher up - with better view. I were told at check-in that the hotel have 7 restaurant - nobody told med that the 3 were under renovation, so only 4 was available. So I have to go my self to find out that the two I had searched out both Wewe closed. I ended up in the Buffet - huge assortment, but at best all the +20 dishes I tasted were tasteless.

not everyday I get impressed with Hotel and its service but the staff here is phenomenal! Absolutely awesome, they even called mid stay to ask if we were ok, anything we needed. all the staff are super helpful and the hotel is awesome! The spa is great as well, massage was great, pool is great.

As a solo female traveller I did not find this hotel too accommodating. Upon check in I was given no information about the facilities available such as pool or gym locations. The area of the hotel is not the best for solo travellers as there was not a lot around and I got scammed and harassed on the street. I think if you were with a group of friends or in a couple it would be fine but felt targeted as a solo woman, therefore was reluctant to be explore the streets. An 18% service charge was attached to everything which was not divulged to me. Oh the positive side, bed was incredibly comfortable the room was huge. The pool was lovely once I located it and the gym is also pretty decent for a hotel.

The hotel offers various facilities But will need some renovation as other hotels in the ateac4/5 stars are in same price. Breakfast room is extremely crowded and smelly, too small for the size of the hotel. (Room numbers to tables) and spa allocated outside the hotel . Next time will rethink to book to a different place . Staff extremely kind .

This is a great hotel in the middle of Colombo. This was the hotel that was hit by the terrorist attack a few years ago but that should put you off. The staff are amazing Rooms lovely and so clean Loads of restaurants in the hotel of all types so there really is something for everyone. Pool is nice but the sister hotel Lakeside I think has a better pool and locationz

Strict security just before entering the hotel ... And greeted by an elegent atmosphere at the lobby... Check-in process is smooth, staffs were all friendly and speaks good English... Drinks were also served during check-in... Rooms are overall clean ... Except for some stains on the mattress... Covered with the protector so not much of an issue... Breakfast were good and have a wide variety of food... Salads, cold cuts, breads and pastries... Western eggs and bacon, asian, local cuisine.... Egg counter is just beside the pool... Highly recommend for business and short family stay... Will definitely come again

We stay in Cinnamon Grand every time we visit SriLanka. We love the set up with the lobby and the rooms.The rooms are clean well maintained and comfortable. Staff from the lobby,managers ,staff who clean the rooms are all very friendly ,courteous and professional in their jobs.They make us feel at home every time we come . I have no reservations in recommending this hotel to any one planning to visit Colombo.

Room service wasn’t good. They just had 2 water bottles and I had to call and keep on asking for water and wait for hours. There’s loud noise all the time from their downtown staging. The rooms aren’t sound proof. People in the next room was so loud and noisy all the time and I couldn’t even get a good sleep. The mini fridge wasn’t working and many electric sockets were not functioning. I had to use the hairdryer and water heater on the table. They shampoo and was terrible. I checked out from shangri la and came here and I couldn’t even change or cancel because expedia doesn’t allow changes after checking in. And I regret this stay deeply. Wasted my money here.

Aufmersammes freundliches Personal, das Frühstück gibt es ab 6.30 Uhr aber den Kaffee bekommt man um die Uhrzeit nur auf Nachfrage der ist erst ab ca. 7 Uhr fertig. Sehr reichhltige Auswahl. Die Zimmer sind schon etwas "abgewohnt" und man sollte daruf achten das man ein Zimmer zur Stadtseite bekommt (Lärm)

We are at the end of our private tour of Sri Lanka. We booked all accom from Australia. The most consistent service issue across all accommodation regardless of price point or star rating is the inordinately slow service! Whether drinks or food slow service is endemic across Sri Lanka and unfortunately the cinnamon grand is no different. Staff always try to be helpful however this is the first hotel experience where staff seem unhappy. Just to be clear what we are talking about is the time taken from placing orders to delivery. Younger staff seem to be unsure of their function. Even the pop up crepe and waffle station took so long between preparation and delivery that the crepes were cold by the time they delivered. The hot chocolate was excellent!

We received a very warm welcome upon arrival and were checked in at the Club Lounge, where the service has been consistently exceptional. The Club Lounge team especially Upeksh, Prasanna, Wasantha, Damith, Dilshan, and Chain — have been outstanding throughout our stay. Breakfast was very good, and overall the staff are friendly and attentive. However, I observed several issues that should be addressed. Internal communication between departments needs significant improvement. On multiple occasions, despite informing the team that we extended our stay, both my wife and I received repeated calls and had our keys disabled twice. This happened four times, and we did not receive an appropriate personal apology, which is expected from a five-star property. Additionally, some minor health and safety concerns and inaccuracies in menu descriptions were raised, but no one followed up to confirm whether these were being addressed. Acknowledgement and feedback are essential in maintaining professional standards. Staff was very helpful. It is connected to a mall which has an ATM which is convenient. There was a wedding going on so a lot going on during check in time but the staff was very quick and attentive to checking me in. My only complaint was the noise happening outside, not sure if from a nearby club but I could hear loud music. Other than that. Great stay!

It’s a wonderful place to stay. The staff were so helpful and warm. The seafood lagoon is a must! The food is amazing!! The flavors and quality were outstanding. The lounge area is great to meet fry and watch the evening entertainment with a drink. However, beverages and tea here can be a bit pricey.

Spent a wonderful 5 nights at the Cinnamon Grand in Feb 2023. Across the board the staff was excellent - very helpful and friendly. We dined at Plates and other restaurants and had excellent meals. Would highly recommend the Cinnamon Grand to anyone staying in Colombo.
