Had stayes here 2 years ago and loved it as a short stay before we travelled onward. This time sadly there was extensive building works taking place. An extremely large complex/hotel being built next door which rendered any relaxing time by the pool none existant, a real shame. No warning prior to arriving and no reduction in rates

We had an awesome 3 nights here. The breakfast was amazing and we dined in all 3 restaurants. I especially loved the Chinese, best Ive ever had. We also made good use of the 50 mtr infinity pool and the gym was well maintained, clean and had plenty of equipment. Staff were exceptional, great service. We will be back, thank you.

Wonderful! Very clean and comfortable. Amazing rooftop pool with hot jacuzzi and steam rooms. The temperature of steam could be hotter though. Amenities in the room are terrific. I have never been anywhere else where all the free bottles of drinking water, soft drinks and snack that I would want are generously and freely provided. Breakfast buffet is delicious with wide choices. Staff is super friendly.

Room was ok but needs maintence Looks like engineering is not keeping the rooms in 5* standard Room PPM to be done by the engineering Bathroom needs TLC Wallpaper needs cleaning , house keeper needs to have a good track what needs doing in the rooms and not the guest to bring this to your attention . Overall our stay was excellent , staff very friendly GYM two treadmill needs attention too

Hi standard of service, room cleanliness etc. The first room I was given looked into a building site and was therefore noisy. I asked to move and was given a new room on the other side of the hotel that was much quieter. Overall, a great experience at a reasonable price. Great value for money

The whole experience was wonderful from being collected at the airport and walking in the front door. Very welcoming, great staff and service, room was beautifully done, rooftop areas were brilliant and restaurants and food all very high standards. Only downsides I can think were that there was no private changing spaces in ladies poolside facilities and the live music and entertainment going on at weekends was too loud and went on until 1am so I had a couple of nights where I struggled to sleep. Apart from that, wonderful stay and would recommend.

I do not think anyone can match what they offer. Great rooms, Ocean view, free mini bar (no alcohol), 3 hours free city tour, free shuttle to private lounge at Sea. Excellent breakfast included with many choices.

Only had a short stay. Well appointed modern hotel. The highlight is the roof top pool and view (just stunning). The breakfast buffet is really large and varied. Staff and friendly buy slightly impersonal: maybe that’s a big city Colombo thing…location is great right on the water, with most attractions max 10 min away by tuk tuk. Would recommend for a couple of days in the city.

Very friendly and helpful personnel. The entire property is beautiful and well maintained. They arranged for all our needs such as late checkout, luggage storage, transportation. Thank you for the free tour around main sights of Colombo! Pool and dining options were fantastic! I recommend to all my friends and come back again!

I have stayed here multiple timrs. For the price, it is a very good place to stay. It is clean, location is good, food is excellent. But it is run as a bureaucratic organization. Staff will not go out of their way to do anything extra without an additional payment. Early check in, there is a payment. Late check out, there is a payment. Photographs there is a payment. Unless there is more flexibility and interest in customer welfare, this hotel will never become one of the best. This feature distinguishes the middle rated hotels from the best.

Enjoyed my stay at Marino Beach. It was an oasis from a very hectic Colombo. The pool was excellent and big enough not to feel crowded, even when there were many people there. Ocean views were great plus loved the overall aesthetic of the pool with the greenery and the rooftop garden. The buffet breakfast was good with lots of variety. Offering a complementary city tour for guests was a great touch + complementary mini bar too. Only thing which was odd was the request to put down a $30 deposit per day. For people paying with card, this isn’t necessary and also just complicates things when checking out. Last thing to note is that there is a big construction site next door. Rooms are pretty well sound proofed as the noise didn’t bother me in my room.

I wasn’t impressed with the reception guy who checked us in. Not very welcoming. However the housekeeping staff who looked after us was very attentive, helpful and efficient. The room was clean and fresh. He paid attention to detail and was pro active. Overall I would certainly recommend Marino Beach.

The hotel has a lot worthy of five stars: the rooftop infinity pool, the private beach, spa, and wonderful cleaning, valet and poolside staff. Unfortunately, the front desk reception and some of the wait staff in the restaurants act are rude, unhelpful or happy to keep you waiting. At times, they act like guests are nothing more than an annoyance to them. Another issue is that their room categories don’t match what is online. I’ve stayed here 3 times in the last 3 years and 2 of those times they tried to put in a lower class room upon arrival. It’s hard to know the real cause of this issue but the front desk staff certainly don’t help make it better.

The hotel is in a perfect location near everything important like shops, nightclubs, bars etc, food in the hotel was nice but they need to stay true to the Sri Lankan culture and always have Sri Lankan food available at the buffet. Tea in Sri Lanka is world class so should be available in all the hotels across Sri Lanka. Attention to detail is important and Sri Lanka is well known for this, but this standard has dropped a little and needs addressing. Pool was wonderful and warm, bars and restaurants around the pool was good, turnstiles around the pool area were a little annoying and somewhat unnecessary. All in on the hotel is lovely and I will definitely stay there again

Had a wonderful stay at Marino Beach Colombo. Fantastic staff and great location. It’s really easy to hire tuktuks from right outside the hotel. The Marino Beach Lounge is a great add on (ten-minute free shuttle ride). I would definitely recommend staying here for a stay.

The hotel is clean. The pool is great. The staff are very caring and attentive. The food in the evening buffet was excellent. On the downside, there is a big buidling site next door which can be quite noisy and obtrussive. Also, despite the name, the private beach is a 15 minute drive away. Hotel is fine for a short (e.g. first night / last night) holiday stay, or short business trip.

Superb hotel not far from the city centre, which in my mind is better than many others. The rooms are huge and well equipped. Breakfast is very nice and diverse and the rooftop with the swimming pool is fantastic and reserved for the guests only. The price is fair for such quality offer.

It's a terrific property and the staff could not be more solicitus.Unfortunately, the hotel is located in a not-so-great neighborhood. Not unsafe, but less attractive than other parts of Colombo

The hotel was great, we especially loved the roof-top with the pool, jacuzzis, bars and gym. It felt like an oasis in the middle of the big city. The staff was very friendly and accommodating, and the breakfast buffet was incredible. The only downside is the area; even though the hotel is by the sea, there's a lot of traffic and not appealing to take a walk.

Quality hotel with helpful staff. Good variety of food at breakfast and the dinner buffet. Our room had a view of the sea and the train that runs along the coast. Amazing infinity pool on 10th floor though unfortunately raining most days for us. Attached to a small mall though not many shops there.

This is nice property with upgraded room and bathroom. The infinity pool is amazing. Location is great. Great choice of food at the breakfast buffet. Live station was good. Already cooked meals were ok. Need to improve the taste a little. Working crew can add little bit more character by smiling and making the morning better for the visitors. Staff may need little more training to handle the visitors.

I recently stayed at Marino beach hotel and it was an incredible experience. From the moment we arrived, the staff was warm and welcoming, ensuring a smooth check-in process. Their hospitality was outstanding, making our stay truly enjoyable. The only drawback was the lack of vegetarian food options. While the restaurants served a variety of gourmet dishes, vegetarian choices were very limited. Overall, if you’re not a vegetarian, this hotel is flawless. Lovely hotel and staff. Food was great. For a layover it was great and the hotel has a complimentary city tour, so you can see more of the city. My advice, get out to the Sri Lankan countryside if you want to see the true beauty.

High quality, newer property with excellent restaurants and tourist shopping in adjacent mall. The breakfast in the hotel restaurant is outstanding - a great way to experience Sri Lanka cuisine. Hospitality and service is top notch.
