The location was excellent to the Alamo and the River Walk. The staff was extra friendly and helpful. Our room was ready early and we checked in at 11:00 AM! The breakfast buffet was beyond our expectations. The Hotel Gibbs was very reasonably priced but valet parking is your only option. The parking cost was 60% the cost of the room.

The hotel was nice. Good breakfast. Clean. Comfortable beds. Shower did not have good water pressure and there is no free parking. We had to pay $45 plus tips to do valet which was the cheapest option for parking. It also took 20+ minutes for them to retrieve our car.

Great bright room with lots of lighting. Beds very comfortable with nice pillows. Only 1 of the 2 elevators were functioning. Breakfast ok, nothing great. Walking distance to Riverwalk which makes this a great location for the price. We used Uber as parking is $45 a night plus attendants look like they want tips.

Parking is too expensive ; $45 per night ! They told us we need to wait for 10-15 minutes after requesting our car and we needed to wait 45 minutes for it ! However , the lady in the reception is so welcoming and friendly I appreciate her!

Great office conversion to hotel. Beautiful marble throughout. Lots of history. All staff was very welcoming and responsive. The breakfast was delicious and the wine bar a special addition. Super close to the Alamo and many restaurants. Easy walk or Lyft to Riverwalk. Valet super friendly and helpful especially for a first time visitor to San Antonio.

View was unique if on higher levels, pets are 75.00 per stay, but no amenities or area for them. No microwave, pool, restaurant, bar,bathtub . Construction early morning and all day. Its very expensive for being rather plain. I would not recommend it.

The building seems historical and is in good walking distance to all of the attractions in downtown. My only two gripes is finding which door leads to the front desk when entering and valet parking is very bad with wait times after requesting your vehicle can take up to 45min or more.

It wasn't the best stay, but it also wasn't the worst. Room wasn't very clean, and there was a huge roach that decided to keep me company in the bathroom. My hotel room phone started ringing at 12:30am, which freaked me out. Front desk service was probably the best part about my stay - they were extremely kind and accomodating.

To start with some positives. I loved the vintage look of the hotel. The breakfast was better than other free breakfasts we have had. The room was a little small but nice. Now, what we really didn't like. There was no parking connected to the hotel. It was required to either pay $30-40 per night at a random lot, or pay $45 for valet to park your car blocks away. We also had issues with cleanliness. There were muddy footprints in our room when we checked in. There was also mold on the ceiling with the shower. The refrigerator did not work. And while towels were replaced, beds weren't made, the shampoo and body wash was empty, etc. It just wasn't the expectation we have in hotels.

I love the older feel of the hotel. The floors, the marble, the look of it in general. I love all of that! The staff were mostly friendly as well. I hate to say it, but it was not very clean. There was long, black straight all over the hardwood floors and on the shower walls. It was there when I got there AND, for reference: I have short, blonde curly hair lol. So it was definitely not mine. I found a bug on top of the duvet. I don’t believe it was a bed bug, and that could have hitched a ride with me when I was outside. So that one isn’t necessarily a cleanliness issue. But who knows. The other thing was there was gross smears on the wall by the door? Not sure what that was.. anyway, overall, I enjoyed the stay, but I doubt I will come back because of the status of the room. Maybe they could take a little extra time in cleaning the rooms in the future.

Wonderful mini-vacay on the Riverwalk steps away from Hotel Gibbs. Beautiful mix of historic building with new modern finishes throughput. Bed was super comfortable and everything felt squeaky clean. This was our second time staying here become it doesn't disappoint.

The room was in okayish condition. The sheets were stained and had to be taken off. The pillows and actual bedding were also stained. Since I checked in after 10:30 pm, I had to call 3 times before I reached anyone for a new set of sheets. I had to put a towel on the mattress because sleeping on stained things is gross. Underneath the bed was cleaned; found condom wrappers which weren’t removed the entire time I was there. Staff was nice but cleaning needs improvement.

First issue was someone’s curly hair all over the top blanket of one of the beds. Then when we pulled the sheets back, the bottom sheet was dirty. Found a pair of men’s underwear (not ours) by the window when I opened the curtains this morning to let some sun in. Shower was filthy and door didn’t shut all the way so bathroom floor got really wet. Smoke detector beeped all night long so please replace batteries. I’m not one to complain but dang, the complaint list was big here. Only spoke with night front desk and morning front desk. Manager was still not in on a holiday Monday morning before we checked out after 10:30am

Im extremely let down by this hotel for almost $400 for two nights I would expect the hotel to at least be clean. First thing we noticed was the elevator was extremely dirty. Our room was super small and I found an old water bottle (not mine) under the bed. Also, behind the cabinets I found a shirt and a belt that again was not mine. Only reason I looked back there is because i dropped my earring back there. So that means whoever cleaned the room didn’t look back there to find those belongings. Not to mention the coffee maker was all dusty. It clearly looked like it hadn’t been dusted in a while. I know hotel rooms are supposed to be cleaned and dusted every single time a guest checks out and this hotel was just not it. Overall I was just very disappointed in the cleanliness of this hotel. For that price I feel it should atleast be cleaner.

Bed and pillows were absolutely terrible. Stuffy inside the room even with the ac set on 65, no way the room was actually at 65. The shower is tiny cannot really shower without touching the walls ( GROSS)!! Staff was supper nice and friendly though.

Very well done renovation of old ofc bldg to hotel. Decor & furnishings very beautiful & comfortable in our one bedroom, as well as bathroom. Only problem we had was blaring nightclub music untill 2:00 a.m., which was a surprise because all reviews we read described how quiet it was. My husband thinks it was because our room was on the NE side & it might have been quieter on theSW side. Otherwise it was wonderful, & I can't say enough about the staff!

Our stay was fine for the most part! The hotel was cute and the room was small, but clean. The bed was comfortable, but the shower was very small and the room felt a little warm despite being on its lowest setting. Parking with the hotel valet was around $45 a night and the staff informed me that the price was the same in nearby, self park lots. Despite what they said, we located a lot for $25 a night that was a three minute walk to the hotel.

We really enjoyed our stay in a king room at this historic hotel right adjacent to the Alamo. Our check in was pleasant and smooth Kayla and Sarah (working the front desk) were friendly, efficient, and helpful. When they saw we had booked an executive queen room, they upgraded us to a king room, saying that the queen rooms were “very cozy”. I’m 6’ 5” and they thought the room might be too small for my wife and I to be comfortable. That was really nice. The rooms was wonderful with original wood floors. It was tastefully decorated. Breakfast was solid. The hotel is close to many downtown attractions including the river walk. Highly recommended!

The property is amazing and the front desk was helpful. The valet attendant was awful and rude though. When he realized we would be parking separately he was rude and made a snide remark that he was timing us to get our bags out and get back to our vehicle. This was not necessary because we moved the vehicle immediately. He then argued with me about how he has moved trucks bigger than mine and he made me feel very insignificant as a woman driver. The way he spoke to me was horrible. We were offered a free wine tasting but we don't drink alcohol and no other option was available, which was a little bit of a bummer. Other than the awful valet experience, the hotel itself was great!

I booked this hotel as 4 and 1/5 star hotel. This property can be considered a 2 star hotel. The staff is not trained to handle a better communication with a non-happy customer. In the booking discussion regarding to the wrong hotel star classification, a hungrier employee asked me that i can leave now if i am not happy. I decided to book another hotel at 11:45 pm. I will never book this hotel and i advise others to do so. This properly lies about everything..

It should be noted that this hotel does not provide parking for you. This was not something that was stated clearly on their page. They have valet parking which is a 45 dollar charge per night. I was disappointed by my experience checking in. I went to check in promptly at 3pm. The lady at my desk stated in a very nonchalant manner that “there are no clean rooms”. Keep in mind, I had booked this room more than a month ago. She just stared at me blankly and provided zero solutions and went on to say that I couldn’t start the process until there were clean rooms. I went on to ask, since she didn’t offer any solutions, when I could expect to receive a room. She stated that I was to be sent a text once a room was to be cleared for us. I left for around two hours after that and received no notice at all despite her claims of reaching out to let me know. Upset, I sent my husband to check in. Reminder, this is more than two hours after our check in time. He was given keys and I realized that they never meant to notify me about the room. The morning after, we asked if we could receive a little bit more time since we had received our room late. They were non accommodating and declined our request.

Hotel built in 1909 but was updated and has 2 elevators and valet parking. Room was spacious and clean, breakfast options and coffee were great. Fantastic location, 1 min walk to The Alamo, 5 min to Riverwalk and all the restaurants and shops there. Would definitely stay there again

Close to the Riverwalk. The rooms are very well kept. You are literally across the street from the Alamo. They're doing construction right outside the hotel but it isn't very disruptive. I've recommended it to anyone I can, especially other Army families that are in town for their soldiers graduation from AIT. I'd definitely stay there again.

Wonderful stay. The lady who checked us in was so nice (can’t remember her name but she always wear a headband and dressed all black). The only thing we didn’t like was breakfast room was very small. We had to take it to our room to eat.

We had a wonderful stay at the gibbs! The hotel is across the street from the alamo and a short walk to the riverwalk. Morning breakfast is 5 star and the hotels details are spectacular. The staff is knowledgeable and helpful. 5 star from begining to end

This historic hotel offered comfortable rooms and a delicious warm breakfast only a block away from the Alamo and a couple blocks from the river walk. The rooms are on the small side, but have great amenities (like a coffee bar) and comfortable beds. The breakfast had a lot of great options from sweet to savory. The management even came around and checked that everyone was doing well and had what they needed. Great value and would stay again.

Hotel right across from the Alamo and very close to Riverwalk, shops and restaurants. Valet service very convenient and friendly. My only negative was breakfast was said to be from 7:00 am to 10:00 am, arrived at 9:10 and was told nothing else would be brought out, many people found nothing and crew began cleaning up at 9:20.
