Quality Inn & Suites Lufkin

For the money and the 6 hours we were there it was fine. They were a little misleading on their accessibility. Accessibility: not Bed was too tall Shower/tub was too narrow to accommodate the chair safely New furniture but the structure needs remodeling Too narrow between the bed and dresser Toilet too low and not safe Sink too tall I am in a wheelchair and there is no way I could have stayed in this room alone. My husband had to lift me into the shower because the chair was too far from me and the chair was too wobbly.

The pool was very inviting and the rooms were clean

The on-site restaurant is fabulous. Did not expect a fine dining experience at this hotel but that is what I got. Will definitely stay here again just for the restaurant. Hotel is also clean and convenient with very large rooms.

Great check in. The girl at the desk was friendly and able to help us split out bill. She explained the breakfast procedure and gave us directions to our room. Much appreciated after a long bike ride. The hotel restaurant, the hole in one had an outstanding menu, great service and helpful staff.

Very Humid in the room! When it was 87 degrees outside we had to turn the heat on to get the humidity lower! Made the stay miserable! No continental Breakfast!

Listing says continental breakfast, but it has a restaurant that is not inexpensive

Positives- they accept pets and are cheap for a quick rest on the road. Negatives- everything else

The hotel romm was clean but house keeping never cleaned the room. We stayed for three days. I had to request towels twice. We had people knocking on our door at 1 am in the morning. The pool was dirty. And the restaurant was over priced.

My kids could t even swim because the pool was been used for a party for grown up 20 of them and I got another night so my kids can swim like I was told and they still couldn’t swim then we started seen roaches

The sheets were nasty and when I ask for more they said housekeeping didn’t wash any fresh comforters so we basically had to just deal with a sheet.

I am not typically one to complain, but the pictures were deceiving for this motel. The staff was friendly and accomodating, however, the property is in disrepair. The room had a chlorinated, musty odor, and everything felt moist, including the carpet. There was a large patch of black mold on the ceiling in the bathroom which had obviously been painted over multiple times with varying shades of white. There was no phone in the room and the walls were paper thin. Needless to say, not much sleep was had between the noise and the grimey, wet feeling in the air. We changed hotels the next day. :(

We stay here ALL the time to go to church services across the street. We were in Room 129 and it was CRAWLING with BED BUGS. Then we watched the house keeping literally just change the sheets and make the bed !!! Be aware !!!!March 30, 2024

I liked tthat the beds and bathroom was very clean. The walls of the room had stains and the outside of this hotel needs repair and upkeep.

There was stains in the sheets , blood on the toilet , and pillowcases last time the towels were blackish..

When I walked in there was a used needle and syringe in the doorway, turned on the light and there were roaches on the bed and nightstand. I didn’t even put my bag down, just turned around and canceled my stay. The guy at the front desk was friendly though, so that was a plus

The rooms were super clean and the service was excellent

Found pubic hair in the bathtub. Also, the water is murky, and brown, coming out of all the taps On the plus side, the bed was super comfortable

The room was okay…was non-smoking but smelled like stale cigarette smoke. The room was clean and had the basic amenities. The mattress was ok, but the pillows were surprisingly great! The deadbolt worked, but the extra safety lock was not as secure as I would’ve liked and I used the coat hanger “trick” for added protection. Overall, the room was good for a hot shower and quick and overnight solo stay.

Rooms have a bad odor.

This was very convenient off the highway. Rooms were adequate however the bathrooms were in terrible shape and needs repair.

The interior was fabulously CLEAN. It smelled clean and felt clean. The exterior is borderline scary. The air conditioner could not keep up. It ran the entire time and could never get the room below 76⁰. The mattresses were horrifically uncomfortable. You can feel the springs.

The room refrigerator wasn’t working and warm when we arrived. The air conditioning had to be turned on to clear out the musty smell, and would not stay on or keep up for the temperature. The bathroom toilet was running and the shower would not convert from the tub to shower without a struggle, even then it was only half control. The beds seemed clean, but were uncomfortable. We didn’t complain because it was such a quick stay, but overall not a pleasant experience.

No hot water at all

Everything feels old and worn. Worst noiseproofing ever. We were awoken by noise from outside multiple times both nights we were there. Traffic, loud neighbors leaving for work very early, drunk neighbors arriving and puking in the parking lot very late, we heard it all.

When we arrived, our room was HOT. We called the front desk and they told us our AC had been off all day. We quickly learned why, after returning to our room after dinner our room was flooded. The carpet was soaked from the AC leaking.

I checked in and went to the room with my family to find that the dresser was broken, there was a fist sized hole in the bathroom door, the tv did not work, there were several cigarette burns on both of the comforters (in my non-smoking room), and the place was generally unclean. I talked to the front desk a couple times on the phone and they were supposed to send someone to look at the tv. About a half hour later after no one showed up, I decided we weren't staying and went to the front desk. I told the person at the counter about all of my issues and asked about a refund. She stated that I would need to go through my 3rd party to receive a refund, so I contacted them the next day. Their response was to reach out to the hotel so they could be refunded and in turn refund me, which the hotel ultimately denied because I had canceled outside of their cancelation policy. Obviously I was outside of their cancelation policy because I didn't see the condition of the room until after I had checked in. Bottom line is that this hotel did not treat me fairly and I plan to continue pursuing a refund while hopefully never staying at a Quality Inn again.

Staff was very friendly

There were no elevators. There were no first floor rooms. When Expedia contacted them to get my money reimbursed they answered the phone, put Expedia on hold and then wouldn't come back to the phone. I don't even see that I've been reimbursed. Good luck.

This is the first review I’ve ever been compelled to write. I’ve used hotels.com for the last several years on average around 30 times a year for work and pleasure and will continue to use them! This is a review about the property itself, which was not a good experience but hotels.com helped me resolve the problem quickly. I had reserved a room at the Quality Inn in Lufkin, Tx which I thought was a nonsmoking room. When I got there to check in they said I had reserved a smoking room and they did not have any available non smoking rooms. I agreed to stay in smoking room. When I entered the room I noticed fresh blood stains, dirt, fresh toothpaste and cigarette burns on the linens. After waiting 30 minutes for someone to clean the room the front desk attendant said he would move me to a different room that would inspect together. We entered the room and we both noticed tears in the pillow cases and multiple burns in the linens. I told the front desk attendant just wanted a clean room without cigarette burns in the linens. His response was “this is what you get when you reserve a smoking room.” The attendant proceeded to call the manager and told the manager I was upset with the rooms and that I was taking pictures. The manager told the attendant that I should leave the property without a refund. I left the property and booked a different hotels.com and called customer service to let them know what happened. They immediately refunded the full amount and were very helpful.

Great little property right off the highway within miles of everything you could possibly need. Awesome staff. Some of the best I have ever met.

The older lady at the front desk was very rude and she had an attitude and told my husband I didn’t spell my own name correctly and wouldn’t do her job of finding my reservation after I gave her my name and booking #, the shower head was hanging loose out of the wall in our bathroom and when I called for more towels so I could shower before checkout, I was told to walk to the front to get my own towels or wait until 10:30am (30 mins before checkout) to have them brought to me. The place is poorly ran and needs better customer service for sure.

First room was not advertised as a smoking room, I am allergic to cigarette smoke, and without even having to walk into the room upon opening the door, I was immediately hit with a waft of cigarette smoke. I never would have knowingly booked a smoking room! Secondly, the front desk clerk had zero customer service skills! Third, the room we were assigned was at the back of the property adjacent a dark wooded lot. There were no lights in the parking lot to brighten up the lot at night, so it was a dark scary horror movie setting location for our room. Fourth, When you pull into the parking lot for the “hotel” the front of the building actually has a large neon sign for the attached golf themed restaurant in the front of it, and no signs for the actual hotel other than the one at the front of the parking lot. If you didn’t just assume that the awning off to the side of what was clearly the front of the building, you would have no indication other than the hotel rooms behind the clearly marked restaurant that there even was a hotel front desk somewhere. It would be nice if in the DARK parking lot there was some signage or other indications that “Here is the hotel’s front desk.” After we opened our smoke filled room, didn’t even enter, and returned to the front desk to ask for a different room, we were told, NO. And no they couldn’t cancel or refund us for our booking because we could not stay there, and they wouldn’t move us to a different room. Don’t stay here!!!

Water wouldn't drain from shower for a while, old and simple but you definitely know why it's on the cheaper side. Felt a little unsafe area where our room was

The property is in a good location. Close to restaurants and convenience stores. It run down. Paint pealing off the walls. None of the stoppers fit the sink or tub. We booked an handicap accessible room. They took a walker and bolted it to the toilet so it would have handles. But the toilet was really low to the ground. So it didnt help that much.

I always stay here on my way to houston. Very affordable

This had been my place to stay when I came to town but no longer will be. Had requested a 1st floor room due to back issues- did not receive, to many workers that stay there and did not feel safe as a woman

The room was efficient for my needs. The highlight was the lovely “hole in one “ restaurant located in the front thst was excellent. A hidden gem.

This property no longer has the continental breakfast, but rather a restaurant on property. The breakfast didn’t offer kid friendly options, So we had to go elsewhere. The microwaves were also missing the glass plates. We did ask the front desk about it, & they said they would check on it the next day (after we left).
