Motel 6-Waterloo, IA - Crossroads Mall - Cedar Falls

Noisy! Could hear every noise from the hallway to the parking lot. Closed pool due to maintenance but it looked as if nothing was wrong with the pool and this wasn’t a concern of the management.

Homeless tweaker hanging out at the front entrance, suspicious characters lurking in the parking lot(drugs?), a surprise $20 room deposit supposedly refundable, and the pool was broken. Desk person at check-in was difficult to understand. Noises inside and out most of the night. Dirty pillowcases. Smelly pillows. Cigarette burn hole in the bed spread... Pitch a tent in the rain or whatever, but don't stay here!!!

Clean. Comfortable bed. Had a good quiet sleep. A bit run down. Plexiglass at reception desk and signage in room regarding keeping the deadbolt and latch closed for safety wasn't reassuring but all went well. Pool closed for maintenance.

Website did not dmentioned the facility dies not have an elevator to push the baggage to the room. The customers propped the back door when they went outside. Other customers do not feel safe that way. The facility needs upgrades like the door in the back, no shampoo or conditioner, no microwave❓❓❓

The room says non-smoking yet the beds smelled heavily of cigarette smoke and there were cigarette burns on the blanket. The door did not close very easily. I had to push pretty hard to get it to latch, and the deadbolt would not engage. The pool ( as always when I stay here) was closed for maintenance. The remote control would not change the channel on the TV, just controlled the volume and on/off feature. I went to the desk on the second day of my stay to see about getting it fixed. The person was new and didn't know how to help, but said he would consult a coworker who lived on the grounds. Neither person ever got back to me. The only plus is pets stay free. The beds are very hard and there was only soap offered for a shower. This was an emergency family trip for me so I did not pack shampoo so I was out of luck. I also put a bag of trash outside my door on the first day, and it was never collected, so I stuffed it into a garbage can outside the back door. The back door did not close all the way, so security is not that important to this establishment. No microwave or coffee maker in the room - there is a small microwave in the lobby.

Beds weren't very comfortable, no coffeemaker, microwave.. very few amenities.. lucky thete was an airpot with coffee on the morning and our light over sink bulb burnt out. Good location. An overnight stay was enough any longer not recommended!

No microwave pool hasnt been in service for a long long time over 7 months the fridge wouldnt stay shut and we only had bottles of water 6 of them so it wasnt over full they did have hot showers but the shower head could use replaced lime build up for sure

The outside door opened with no key. We were told the pool worked and it hasn't worked in years. Pets are allowed to stay. But you aren't allowed to leave them at any time unattended. There were no accommodations in the room or at the hotel. No breakfast and coffee they say they have wasn't there. Definitely would not recommend staying there. The room was worth maybe 10 dollars a night.

Rooms were dirty, the staff are not in the least but helpful and on the booking company I went through on the Internet said there was a pool but there hasn't been a operational pool for at least a year that place is trash

Website said they had a pool, but didn’t mention it hadn’t had any water in it for a long time.

bugs in the room, lots of dust on top of the refrigerator, the microwave was missing and we had to call for staff on the phone to be let in to check into the room

First room I was checked into had bed bugs they were crawling on the pillows and the shower head didn’t work. They moved me to another room. It was cleaner but the door latch was broken.

Pictures online are definitely invalid. Lobby - filthy. Not updated like advertised. Pool was closed, completely drained, “under maintenance” but was not alerted of it at time of booking. Bathroom, dirty - had to clean the tub before use. Toliet, EXTREMELY loud. Hot tub in room, steady water leak. 2-3” gap under main door, placed a towel there to close off lighting. TV & night stand dirty. One night stand power did not work. Mold around faucets and both wall trim & floor trim. Back entry door, broken. Parking lot - total mess with beer cans & trash. No video surveillance. Also was not noted of serious road construction around motel, difficult to get into.

It was not a nice clean place. Stains on the bedding and roaches crawling. Definitely needed to be refinished. Toilet paper holder fell out of the wall. No microwave. I will not stay there again, nor do I recommend it.

The hotel is becoming run down. No smoke detector in our room and the ones in the hall were chirping. The floors needed to be mopped, they were sticky. The bathroom was not clean.

This hotel was DISGUSTING. Our room reeked of smoke from the second we walked into the room and there was orange smoke stains dripping from the walls. The shower, bathroom, and sink were not cleaned at all. The faucet was not even wiped down. There was no water pressure in the shower because the shower head was broken. We had the air conditioning on high and it never cooled down enough to be comfortable. The outlet cover that the A/C was plugged into had previous burn marks on it proving that it had at one time caught fire. There was not a mirror at the sink/vanity, so you could see the staining from where it had been. There was burn marks from I’m assuming lit cigarettes on the side of the shower. The cleanliness of this place was easily the worst I’ve ever seen. Gross doesn’t even begin to describe this place. WE DO NOT RECOMMEND.

Greeted by a man smoking a clove at the front door in pajamas. Several people just hanging around the entrance, most looked homeless and/or on drugs. No elevator, we were on the second floor. I was walking barefoot in the room and leaving clean spots behind. Gum washed into the sheet. Blood splatter on the ceiling!!! Room is bogged out with smoke( not just cigarette smoke)and my two children were with me. The entire floor was nonsmoking but as we left it was like walking through fog down the hall. I bet I could get any number of drugs, or a hooker if I had knocked on some doors. I had a very foul smelling man follow me out down the hall when I went to get something from my car. The tub was a mess with scrapes. Food on the comforter. Mascara on the pillow case. Long brown hair on the washcloth. (We are blondes) A crucifix left on the top of the headboard. The remote only had one battery. The internet was spotty at best. My husband was with us but he can’t do anything against a gun or a shooting in the next room and a stray bullet hitting one of my children. I apologize if this is a bit all over the place, I just keep remembering more. This was an awful experience and my family and I have made light of it BUT REALLY, do not book there. We left after an hour. I did not feel my family was safe at all.

In both rooms the sinks leaked, there was duct tape on the pipes. Our bathroom wall was dirty and I saw a few small bugs in the bathroom. The other room, the walls had some sticky crap on them, it was gross. I heard some guy complaining to the desk anout the duct tape on his shower head. No breakast, probably a good thing. For a cheap sleep we were ok.

Next door travelers tv on were loud all night long(noisy)

The bathroom door needs attention

Bed was great black out curtains awesome.shower hot. Bed was super comfy except for the plastic mattress cover. Sheets wouldn't stay on bed and I sweat from the plastic. I suggest they spend a little more for the waterproof mattress covers that are quilted . The mattress will be protected and sheets will stay on I just took it off and sheets stayed on I was cool and slept great

Was a lot of kids running down the halls and yelling until 2 am but other than that not bad.

Awesome service. Only problem was a power outage caused by a storm. Not anyone fault. Best property we have stayed at in a long time.

Staff was rude and when I asked to speak to a manager they refused to give me their information to be able to contact. Was told by this specific staff member that I would be put on the no book list for all the motel 6 and related hotels owned by the manager

Check in was fine Much of the trim was ripped off of falling off. Bugs on the bathroom floor. Toilet was not solid and leaked. Hair all in the bath tub. The smell of weed down the hall was extremely intense. Check out with an older lady, I explained my concerns - she just sat there. No emotions, no I’m sorry she said nothing. DO NOT stay here

The staff was very helpful and courteous. It was very easy to check in and out. We stayed for one night on our way to a bike event in Langley Illinois. It was a last minute decision and the staff was very accommodating. Thank you!

I checked in my room at 245pm check was fine. When I came back to my room I went to turn tv on and no battery in remote. Called mgr on duty and he said no batteries no tv for the night. Very rude and inconsiderate. I went to cvs and bought batteries so I could watch tv. I have stayed here two other times and no problem. Will not come back

I didn't. We were robbed by the front desk. She said that the Expedia charges were reversed and didn't wanna call. Then my uncle paid and she took he cash. Charges aren't reversed..don't stay here..strange criminal looking people in the parking lot.

Not clean and left and room door was open when i got back things were missing out was unsafe and the staff tried to enter my room without knocking or permission to enter

When we showed up there was guys drinking in the parking lot, there were people in a car smoking weed, and on the other side of the building too. Took a while to get the lady to come to check us in I think she was outside. The room was non smoking but smelled like someone was smoking in jt for a long time. The fridge was really working, and floor was covered in dust and dirt, there was dust bunnies all along the popcorn ceiling. We immediately left and got a new hotel. Bc my wife didn’t feel safe.

It's supposed to be smoke free. But when we walked in to check in it smelled so strong of marijuana it was not funny.

You cannot bring your children. No breakfast. No housekeeping or clean towels every day. Very bad crowd. Its okay of grown ups but certainly not okay to bring children.

No breakfast, no pool, no ice, no front desk person, toilet noisy, room not swept, hear noise all night no good fitting doors. I have never stayed im a worse hotel.

While they did try to update the property corners we’re definitely cut. First room I was given I walked in and it smelled like sewage and the toilet was leaking and had flooded the bathroom. 2nd room was better. Also thought it was crap they charge a 20 dollar deposit for your room keys. The pool is down there’s no coffee and parking is awful. But you get what you pay for and it was a place to rest my head for a night.

When we first arrived at the hotel our rooms door is broken, the room smelled of stale alcohol, dead bugs were on the floors. We then were told that despite the website saying there was free breakfast, a pool, and free wifi. They didn't have ANY of those things. The pool was completely drained of water. When we asked for extra pillows and soap. They said they were out of both. And around midnight while we were sleeping a man opened our door stating there must have been a mix up in the system and then left. We will NOT be staying again.

There was roaches in the sink on TV, when you turn off the light switch, it turned off everything as well 👊the TV an everything in that 131 room is hooked up to a light switch, no breakfast, not even coffee. Don't do what we did!!
