Nice people- Small, adequate roadside motel with necessary basics & up the hill from the seashore and dining in Apollo Bay. Though we used the spa, we were not sure the chemicals were balanced in it or the pool. They had to turn on the heat for the spa and wait 2 hrs when we asked about using it. We book places w spa/pool and use them. They should be ready to use and well maintained if they are going to advertise them for people looking to reserve. Enjoyed playing in nearby tide pools at low tide upon our arrival!

One of the best motels we have ever been. The reception and management were most friendly and kind. Very generous. The pool and spa was amazing, and just a walking distance from the beach. Things that can improve is clothing line (possibly?), refill toilet papers esp for long staying guests, uncover the spa during the opening hours.

Where do I begin? Got into the room which stank of takeaway food which it did for quite some time. The pool was dirty with sand in the bottom of it (no it doesn’t happen in a matter of hours - it’s not been cleaned for days). The spa had scum on the surface - only really noticed this once in it and then had itchy skin later on because of it. Pulled the sheets back on the main bed to find quite a bit of skin, dirt and hairs from the previous occupant. Called the Manager who told me that the sheets had been changed each day and sometimes hairs get stuck in cracks! Told him that was not true as the hair and dirt were on top of the sheets under the cover , and this is unacceptable . Told me again the sheets had been changed and for my peace of mind the sheets would be changed again for me. Nothing but excuses. A noisy motel (slamming doors and bathroom utilities) on a noisy highway! Apart from this generally tidy, but better off spending a little bit more for a much better room at a different hotel/motel.

Bathroom very outdated and small for a family for the price. The bathroom door squeaked and heated blankets on kids bed’s didn’t work. Not the cleanest, My daughter was playing and found an empty wine bottle under the bed which was a bit concerning! For the price it seemed a bit outdated and didn’t deliver.

No staff onsite which was fine, the room key was under the door mat. The room was tidy but had quite a few ants. The main downside is that you can hear the neighbouring rooms talking, using the microwave, watching tv etc. so wasn't the best sleep.

This place was dirty and the bed sheets were stained as were the pillows and hand towels also the photos of the property must have been taken 10 years ago it was that bad that we didn’t even stay and done our money cold I don’t know who’s been doing the reviews on this place but they were definitely delusional I would give this place a big miss Reception also didn’t want any IID which I thought was strange

The beds were very comfortable, and everything was extremely clean. The shower was fantastic with great pressure and heaps of hot water. For basic accommodation, it was far better than we were expecting. We would happily stay again.

EXTREMELY OVERPRICED AND RUNDOWN!!! Save your money and look elsewhere. Mold in bathroom, stains on bedding, peeling paint, worn out towels. Bathroom smells bad. The carpet is misty and smelly. I checked in late. As soon as i checked in I got a text when to check out in the morning giving no minutes after 10 bcz of the cleaners coming. The carpet was misty and very smelly. I texted the manager back with no response. Told the cleaners in the morning and she said she can’t smell it. Overall not worth even half the price.

Girls in office were lovely. Overall our room was clean. Very disappointed in the shower condition. The shower base needs attention and under the shower screen where it meets the base in the corner was rotting and it appeared to be mouldy. Would not return

For the price, the room was very basic. On the plus side, there were heating pads for the beds and the staff friendly. The bathroom was small with an open window section for ventilation - which made it very cold (we were there in the late winter).

My partner and I had a lovely stay at Motel Marengo. It was just outside of Apollo Bay so we avoided all the hussle and bussle and the room was spacious, clean and all we needed for a nights stay. Would stay again.

La chambre était correcte et propre. Petit bémol sur la salle d'eau qui était assez petite et un peu vétuste. Les murs sont aussi très fins. On entend énormément les voisins. Personnel gentil. Bien pour une halte. Demander les chambres 8 ou 9 plus éloignées de la route.

Communication should be improved. The receptionist on the desk was excellent, room was good but ideally the room was better for a family and not four adults. There was a problem with the booking and communication would have avoided this.

Great option for a short stay. Easy parking and convenient access to The Otways, it was just what we needed on our road trip. There are no dining facilities, but Apollo Bay is just 5 mins drive and has plenty of options (check out Little Crumb Bakery for the best breakfast you have had in a long while!). My partner and I had a lovely stay at Motel Marengo. It was just outside of Apollo Bay so we avoided all the hussle and bussle and the room was spacious, clean and all we needed for a nights stay. Would stay again.

Quick check in and check out with is great. Okay accommodation if on budget. Location was good. Close to Apollo Bay main street with all the restaurants. Room was spacious and heating was very good and quiet. Room was outdated, could use immediate improvements such as sealing of doors and windows to stop heating from escaping. There were obvious gaps in the front door and also in our bathroom window so we had to keep heater on. Investing in sealing these holes would save the motel in the long run. Also the drinking glasses were dirty as well with finger prints and smudges.
