Returning back to Brisbane, decided to have a 3 night stay in Caloundra, ULTIQA Shearwater Kings Beach. On my arrival I was greeted by a delightful receptionist. She was very helpful with my enquiries, my Studio Room, was adequate for myself. King size bed, balcony with water views, large bathroom, and a Surprise Welcome Pack full of goodies (wine, potato chips, dip, crackers, 2 beers.) Fantastic! Restaurant downstairs. across the road heading towards Bulcock beach on the walk way were other eateries. Great Spot!

Hi the stay was really good, the staff were lovely and we loved the complimentary breaky also, easy access( our lock on the door ran out of battery at one stage so we had to get the battery changed and lucky this did not happen late at night) the dor also was not locking properly either. The kids loved the game room and pool. The location was just in the most perfect spot as everything was walking distance to the shops/beach/parks etc, . Where we stayed we didn’t really like how we had to also share our back area with our neighbour. It felt like we had no privacy and I have never stayed at a place like that before and having kids it’s a bit hard to keep them quiet when all they want to do is be kids and play outside. My partner even walked out and was on the phone at one stage and the person next to us was extremely rude and told him to be quiet and waved him away, so it made us not want to go outside at all. There also wasn’t enough towels provided and the fans and drains did not work in the bathroom or toilet and when you have kids that’s kind of a big must as both get used quite a lot.

The positives to the property is good secure parking, its in walking distance to the beach and restaurants. The small resort incudes a gym, spa, pool and sauna. Foxtel tv. Staff friendly and helpful. The negatives some wear and tear on items in room/gym needs maintenance. The room bath spa very small. The bed mattress very uncomfortable feeling the springs. And the games room needing coins to use. No phone in room to contact front desk. The resort hotel on entry always looked clean and has a fresh scent in the air.

Great place to stay Helpful staff on check in and the welcome basket was fabulous. The only negative I would say is the pool access for older customers or people with joint replacements like myself is very difficult. No grab rail and only two steps then it goes to 1.5m

This was a great stay, room was modern enough kids loved the spa and pool. Breakfast included was beyond expectations. Italian restaurant down stars was fresh, authentic and good family price. We will be back.

Shearwater is a lovely complex. Overlooking the ocean from our unit was a beautiful bonus. Staff were very friendly. Love to go back this year and hopefully get another unit with ocean views. Parking was secure.

Location is unbeatable - amazing views and walking distance to shops etc. Amenities and proximity to dining options is optimal. Checkin was less than satisfactory, room wasn’t as ordered (not the extra bedding ordered, lady on desk was rude - understand was fully booked and public holiday but paid a lot and shouldn’t be treated so terribly, assume some of rental was paid to staff to work on public holiday). Dishes with visible crud, so had to wash all dishes, Aircon in bedroom didn’t work (only heated - googled model and is a heating unit - unnecessary in QLD), carpet in bedroom was wet on entry and room smelt mouldy. Dishwasher kept sending out alarm at 3 am so as long weekend only option was my option of disconnecting.

We liked the ocean view. The doors were closing loudly. The room wasn't cleaned properly, there was too much dust behind the bed tables and TV. The bed base was old and stained.

Room was not clean enough to my standard. Furniture was sparce and dated. The coffee machine still had a previous guests pod in t, and the drip tray was filthy. Service was weekly, yet on check in the receptionist said every5 days and if you run out of detergent etc just ask the service team. which I did and they declined!! Weekly service took 10 mins, i was in the room at the time. bedsheets were changed, no vacuuming, no dusting, no mopping. there was however a lot of room deodorizer to mask the awful drain smell. Buy a scented candle or diffuser if you stay here, it will make the room a little more pleasant.

I wasn't able to use my balcony because the people next door were smoking on theirs most of the time. They were extremely noisy, waking me up to smoke at 12:30am and 5am. I would hope you could put an actual wall between balconies to give appropriate privacy.

Great location to parks and walks. Unit well stocked, good washing machine and dryer. Roomy and quiet. Ventilation in bathroom needs to be improved- there was none. A sign to indicate unit would be serviced mid through stay would have useful as the sign said in highlighted words that it wouldnt be serviced! Found a coffee machine deep down in cupboard on 7th day(last day) maybe better up on kitchen bench? Overal a good place and nice breakfasts!

Having to check in online is saving the reception the time and effort and adding to my time. When I had issues the reception did not help and required me to do it on my phone at the reception. Annoying! There was no fore warning of construction in and around the location. This really annoys me as well. There was no convenient place for our case to open it so we opened it on the floor and had to step over it. Breakfast was ok however basic or on the cheap side. Central location to everything and great view. I just think they could do a little better.

Our stay at Shearwater, Caloundra was excellent. We were able to check in online a day before and were allowed into our room at 12:00pm instead of the usual 2:00pm room check in. Our request for a higher room level was also fulfilled. To top it off, a welcome hamper was waiting for us on the table. The view of the boardwalk and the ocean from the balcony was spectacular.

ULTIQA Shearwater Resort was the perfect place for our 3 night stay. The communication from the resort was fantastic and the staff and management very helpful and friendly. Our studio apartment on level 2 had great views and even though it was a bit dated, it was very clean. You can’t beat the location. We could walk to most things but a proper grocery store is a short drive away. We would definitely stay here again. Highly recommended!
