One of the biggest hotel facing the sea, it must have been a gem in the 60s , however despite refurbishment since the, it is now a bit dated and lack some of the high end features. The gym equipments are old and no longer to the norm (sticky plastic handles), pools are OK but basic (what's the point of 3 similar pools, without water fountain for kids, dated plastic slides), the gates to access the beach promenades have had a lock probably for the past 10 years... The restaurant buffet is good but quite repetitive if staying multiple days, and if vegetarian it gets contaminated but other dishes quickly so you have to be the first. Overall, not really worth the high price for the facilities, but the view is great though!

Hotel liegt am Wasser, so das man vom entsprechenden Zimmer das Meer direkt sehen und hören kann. Das Zimmer mit Meerblick war groß und sauber. Frühstück war gut mit viel Auswahl. Parkplatz direkt am Hotel mit Lademöglichkeit für Elektroautos. Mit dem PKW bis Sintra etwa 30min Fahrt. Insgesamt waren wir sehr zufrieden mit dem Hotel und würden es wieder buchen.

It was really wonderful. Cleaning staff was kind. This was our first time trip overseas and we feel it was as good as it could be. Parking was a nightmare every night-they need more parking or a close off site place-it was a complete stress! The rooms were nice but there was not enough space for two people. And it was disappointing when we weren’t allowed to swim in the cool indoor pool because we didn’t have swim caps (of course we could buy them but these kinds of trips add up!) I think they should have been provided. But this was a great area, the beach was beautiful even with the fog coming in and out. Staff was helpful whenever we needed the help. We would stay again.

O hotel está super bem localizado e com uma vista incrível para a praia do Sul, fica localizado sobre os rochedos ao lado da vila dos pescadores com várias opções de lojas e restaurantes nas proximidades. Mas a estrutura em si é muito antiga e precisa urgente de uma modernização. Pelo valor pago na diária, os quartos já deveriam ter sido reformados, pois o chão é todo de carpetes - em plena cidade praiana com areia isso não é nada higiênico! Os móveis são antigos e a decoração é antiquada e de mau gosto. Destaque especial positivo para os funcionários do restaurante, todos muito simpáticos e prestativos, e o André foi muito atencioso! O café da manhã é variado, mas poderia ser melhor nível em termos de qualidade. O almoço é a la carte e apesar de limitado, muito saboroso. O hotel tem 3 piscinas, sendo 1 infantil e 2 adulto - uma de água salgada e muito agradável. O estacionamento é gratuito e ao ar livre e não assegurado a todos os hóspedes.

We had a great time at Vila Gale for only a few days. The location is amazing and the hotel has plenty to offer, including a rather nice gym for a hotel and 2 large pools that are super nice, as well as a steam room and a sauna. Everyone there was super nice, service was a little slow but it was really busy so no real complaints, breakfast was alright. If we're ever back in Ericeria, and we really hope we will be, Vila Gale will certainly be high on the list of where we'll be staying!

Amazing location, very friendly staff, nice facilities. One pretty big con though: smoking is allowed on the terraces and next to the pool, even with kids playing right nearby. This made it very hard to enjoy the outdoor sitting and activities.

We checked in around 10:00 PM. Paula was great the rest of the staff was not. They acted like it was a pain to have us checking in. When we asked where the breakfast was served, how to get to the pool etc. the front desk workers said everything is downstairs. Breakfast was not good. Coffee was horrible. We had to ask for silverware. We had to ask for glasses, napkins The staff was very unhelpful and didn’t want to help with anything We skipped breakfast the 2nd day. It took us 4 tries to find the SPA. ( It’s hidden in the basement down a glassed in walkway. My massage was a 3 out of 5). The location of this hotel is a 5 star! The pool area has been updated and looked lovely. They weren’t providing towels. The interior of the hotel is badly in need of a renovation. The rooms with a view of the ocean have a large balcony with an amazing view, but only have 2 uncomfortable plastic chairs and a small table. This hotel has great potential. Being here reinforced the importance if staff training which this place LACKED. The beds were comfortable and the room was quiet. Good AC. Towels throughout the entire hotel rooms and SPA need to be retired. They were bare and old. Shampoo and soap were horrible. They were very proud they were organic, which is great, but they didn’t work!

Overall we enjoyed this hotel. The staff and amenities were wonderful. The hotel room itself felt fairly dated, though it was in good repair and very clean. The beach, and surrounding town was incredible. We could hang out by the pool, spa, hit the beaches or wander along the ocean side walking path or through the town. There was lots to see and do and great restaurants close by.

This hotel is very very outdated. It may have been a top rating in the 1980s but now it is literally falling apart (our handle of the balcony door fell off when we tried opening the door). The photos do show it to be older but still it does not paint a proper picture. It was also simply not well kept and not clean. We had fingerprints on the windows and the carpet was stained. The entire room smelled of old and used carpet. I would not recommend this hotel even if the location is very beautiful. The price especially is shocking for what it is.

Beautiful property over looking the sea on top of a huge rock formation and a cliff along the side- The property is in a beautiful village town. The room with the balcony was amazing The only thing I would suggest is that the room might need a little bit changes - remove the rug, put tile floors or wood floors and maybe add an area rug. The service was great. Everything was clean. The breakfast was very good. We felt so good here and comfortable in this beautiful fishing village town, I will come back here again.

J’ai trouvé l’établissement vieux. De plus les chambres sont spacieuses mais aucun prise au niveau de la tête de lit. Les prises latérales se dévissent du mur. La salle de bain mérite un coup de joint neuf Ce qui rend cet hôtel sympa c’est la vue et la proximité du centre. Couette pas assez épaisse.

This property has a wonderful location with great views. Keep in mind, this property is older, and doesn’t have some of the features you would expect in a 4 star hotel (no coffee maker in the room, lack of outlets/charging stations by the bed, have to pay for the safe).

Beautiful property over looking the sea on top of a huge rock formation and a cliff along the side- The property is in a beautiful village town. The room with the balcony was amazing The only thing I would suggest is that the room might need a little bit changes - remove the rug, put tile floors or wood floors and maybe add an area rug. The service was great. Everything was clean. The breakfast was very good. We felt so good here and comfortable in this beautiful fishing village town, I will come back here again.

The rooms are outdated and not very soundproof. However, the location and the pool area is hard to beat. We’ll keep coming back but hope that some renovations of the rooms and some of the other indoor spaces are in the near future!

Property is dated but nicely kept. There aren’t many ocean front hotels in the area. However property is under renovation and we had to ask to change our room bc they were drilling on upper floor starting very early in the morning. Staff was nice to accommodate and change our room.

We checked in around 10:00 PM. Paula was great the rest of the staff was not. They acted like it was a pain to have us checking in. When we asked where the breakfast was served, how to get to the pool etc. the front desk workers said everything is downstairs. Breakfast was not good. Coffee was horrible. We had to ask for silverware. We had to ask for glasses, napkins The staff was very unhelpful and didn’t want to help with anything We skipped breakfast the 2nd day. It took us 4 tries to find the SPA. ( It’s hidden in the basement down a glassed in walkway. My massage was a 3 out of 5). The location of this hotel is a 5 star! The pool area has been updated and looked lovely. They weren’t providing towels. The interior of the hotel is badly in need of a renovation. The rooms with a view of the ocean have a large balcony with an amazing view, but only have 2 uncomfortable plastic chairs and a small table. This hotel has great potential. Being here reinforced the importance if staff training which this place LACKED. The beds were comfortable and the room was quiet. Good AC. Towels throughout the entire hotel rooms and SPA need to be retired. They were bare and old. Shampoo and soap were horrible. They were very proud they were organic, which is great, but they didn’t work!

Our room check in was delayed until almost 4 pm and we were late for a wedding event. the other room was not available until after 6 pm. We arrived after getting on a 6:oo am flight and were very tired and disappointed. Staff tried to be helpful, but having a room prepared for a 3 p.m. check in is essential for hotel business.

Durante o check-in não deram qualquer tipo de explicação sobre o funcionamento do hotel nem sobre a localização dos vários serviços. O Spa estava com muitas crianças sem supervisão (o banho turco e a sauna tinham as portas abertas com as crianças sempre a circularem entre os espaços)

Albergo molto bello, sia come posizione che come camera. Standard decisamente elevato. Soggiorno rovinato da impiegata alla reception molto sgarbata: camera non pronta alle 16 (nonostante fosse scritto che il check in era alle 15). Allle nostre rimostranze rispondeva molto seccamente che lei sarebbe stata autorizzata a darcela anche alle 17 e quindi non potevamo lamentarci. Peraltro l'albergo non era per nulla pieno quindi avrebbe potuto darci un'altra camera. Se non avessimo già pagato saremmo andati via. Come rovinare la reputazione di un ottimo albergo e di un'ottima catena...

We had a great time at Vila Gale for only a few days. The location is amazing and the hotel has plenty to offer, including a rather nice gym for a hotel and 2 large pools that are super nice, as well as a steam room and a sauna. Everyone there was super nice, service was a little slow but it was really busy so no real complaints, breakfast was alright. If we're ever back in Ericeria, and we really hope we will be, Vila Gale will certainly be high on the list of where we'll be staying!

Everything including the Village was delightful. We had a lovely, relaxing, stay. Everyone were so helpful and friendly. The hotel is right on the ocean and a 3 minute walk gets you the Atlantic.

Hotel liegt am Wasser, so das man vom entsprechenden Zimmer das Meer direkt sehen und hören kann. Das Zimmer mit Meerblick war groß und sauber. Frühstück war gut mit viel Auswahl. Parkplatz direkt am Hotel mit Lademöglichkeit für Elektroautos. Mit dem PKW bis Sintra etwa 30min Fahrt. Insgesamt waren wir sehr zufrieden mit dem Hotel und würden es wieder buchen.

One of the biggest hotel facing the sea, it must have been a gem in the 60s , however despite refurbishment since the, it is now a bit dated and lack some of the high end features. The gym equipments are old and no longer to the norm (sticky plastic handles), pools are OK but basic (what's the point of 3 similar pools, without water fountain for kids, dated plastic slides), the gates to access the beach promenades have had a lock probably for the past 10 years... The restaurant buffet is good but quite repetitive if staying multiple days, and if vegetarian it gets contaminated but other dishes quickly so you have to be the first. Overall, not really worth the high price for the facilities, but the view is great though!

Location was perfect to walk right into the Village, restaurants and the shoreline. Watch locals fish off of the rocks from your room and watch the surfers and surfing classes catch the waves.
