Very clean,comfortable bed,all the staff we're welcoming, friendly and very helpful. Parking is available at the property, bbq area near the pool was very well equipped and clean. I loved the whole vibe of the chalet and the old school,with a modern twist to the renovations. Will be staying again.

The character of this property is quite unique and well presented and the rooms, despite being very pokey, are impeccably dressed. However, the pool needs care and the reception needs to be staffed. While we were there, the pool was full of leaves and grit/sand and hadn't been vacuumed in a while. Not once did anyone at reception answer our call, nor was there someone at the desk outside of the check in period starting at 2 on some days but they were not there for long. If guests couldn't get in, they were left waiting for ages.

This accomodation should have been condemned. I paid $400 for night. Upon walking in I could smell it was dank. The toilet seat fell off completely and the bathroom hobb tiles were chipped. Mildew along the top of tiles. Manager was drunk when greating us and when complaining of smell he said it had been raining non stop and said yes the carpet felt damp. Later when they came back they denied smelling anything. Offered our money back but we had no choice but to stay in a fully booked town. I asked for a reduction of the rate but they didn’t want to discuss further. By far the worst hotel I have ever stayed in. Very upset as $400 is a lot of money for a tiny room straight out of the 60’s

Check in was easy with the app which was a good start Place looks nice from the outside and very quaint which we loved and we were able to park the car which was great. However this is where the good ends. Upon arrival we liked the room itself and felt it was quite welcoming and cosy, however upon entering the bathroom we noticed the walls were covered with ants. As we looked closer around the rest of the room it became clear that the ants were everywhere in the room, covering the walls behind the bed and everything, I tried to make contact with staff however with it being later in the evening we arrived no one was available to help on the phone and nobody answered, I also took to messaging via hotels.com however as far as I’m aware there’s still been no response. Given we had nowhere else to stay we pulled the bed out from the wall, brushed off the ants from the bed and hoped we’d get some sleep, unfortunately not much sleep was had which was a real shame and had a big impact on our road trip. The following evening after leaving I thought that I may have left my wedding ring behind and the motel so proceeded to email them directly to ask if they could kindly check the room for me to see if it was there. This was on Monday the 1st December, it’s now 5 days later and there still hasn’t been as much as an email or call back to say they’d checked for us, nor has there been any response about the ants, absolutely shambolic levels of service, be warned.

This was our 3rd motel in Brunswick Heads in 3 nights. The walls are thin, we heard every word of our neighbours conversations. Whilst this is a non-smoking motel ( signs are everywhere) there was smoking outside our room every hour or so during our stay so windows had to be closed and the smoke came into the room regardless. We reported it to the guy at reception but no action was taken. The water temperature in the shower goes from hot to cold and back again on its own, not sure if this is related to other units turning on/ off taps, certainly unpredictable. I would choose Sails motel or the Brunswick over this

Such a cute little semi-retro vibe makes this simple little motel a really nice experience. The room was small with a double bed (not Queen etc.) but good use made of the space & the decorating made it feel great.
