Adorable small inn with great location for beach & hiking up Pointe Dume. Not really as shown in their ad as no hot tub but pool was clean. Very private area. Not walking distance to any restaurants though unless quite a way to one on beach. Clean room but no coffee maker. Had to microwave water for hot tea. Staff was very polite, kind & efficient! Great parking, (& free!). Beautiful sunny lobby, well maintained & bright. Overall great experience & wish we had had more time there.

The pool and restaurants were closed because of "maintenance". In reality the pool and restaurant just looked neglected and seemed like they simply couldn't afford to hire staff to look after them. The room was dusty and the windows were completely busted.

A quaint motel on/in a cliff overlooking the mouth of Zuma Beach. Walkable to the beach in 10 mins. Room somewhat updated but property in need of some TLC. We were able to bring our well behaved Husky. Driveway is steep so be ready for a good walk down and up. Angle in parking by rooms is convenient. Have to back out or turn around to get car out of where the main California Bungalow type row of rooms is. Each room has a private balcony. Pets enjoy that as did we except it rained, and it isn't covered but for a few feet. All in all, would go again. Very nice staff. Quiet area. Lights inside rooms and in parking lots way too bright for my taste, but that's me.

We had a very peaceful and relaxing stay with our newborn and small dog. Our room was large and comfortable with a private patio area. The pool was really nice, clean and warm. I had it to Jarod for a mid morning swim. The rose garden was very well tended to, in full bloom and smelled wonderful. Service was friendly, attentive to our needs and gave us a free upgrade! The property itself is a bit dated and weathered being very close to the beach. That did not bother us and we enjoyed our stay very much.

Second summer in a row coming here, the location is just the best! The rooms are small but comfortable, the bathrooms are nice. The parking situation is safe but very cramped. The pool area is pretty and peaceful with lovely views. The housekeeping was on point, but there was mysteriously never anyone at the front desk.

You can tell the property is a little older, but it’s well kept and very clean. The parking can get tricky when it’s full because of the steep incline and parking stalls, but I recommend this hotel. I’ll be staying there often as my daughter goes to college.

Hotel is in a great location. Very close to Zuma beach. I chose the room with the beautiful ocean view but unfortunately the windows were very dirty and the window tint film was peeling. The window screens were broken. No smoke detector in room. Room and bathroom lights were burned out. Mold in shower.

If you are looking to pay 400.00 per night #26 has a nice view however, this property has seen better days and our room was filthy especially the bathroom. Black mold in the shower on tile grout (lots of it) toilet paper holder broken and missing, 3 out of 4 bathroom lights burnt out, ceiling fan was covered in loads of dust. The window blinds are sticky and dirty. Patio furniture is broken with holes Sooo disappointed in this property, If they would just do some deep cleaning and maintenance, I don't believe there would not be so many bad reviews. The furniture is old but it's a beach motel so I wasn't bothered by it. I hope the owners/managers really put some heavy elbow grease into this ONCE wonderful beach motel. Most Sincerely LN

It seemed as though nothing had been cleared in our “cottage room “ for quite some time. There were cobwebs on the light fixtures, a thick layer of dust on every surface, and I don’t even want to talk about what underneath of the bed was like! There were piles of discarded items (garbage) piled up in almost every nook and cranny on the property. You would think for the $600/night you would not have to arrive to a dirty accommodation with garbage piled outside! The parking was very challenging because the space is so small and so steep. The walk to Zuma beach doesn’t take long but the road is narrow and busy and there is really not much space to walk and NO lights if you’re walking in the dark you are really risking your safety. There was a private party going on on Saturday night so we had to listen to music pounding till early hours and I could barely stand the smell of all the perfumes and colognes that were drifting our way on the wind… The front desk staff seemed friendly.

Terrible hotel. Sheets were dirty in multiple spots. Couldn’t ask front desk because they leave at 11 till the next morning. Killed 3 bugs before I went to bed. The construction is the worst quality I’ve ever seen. Probably the reason there were so many bugs.

Raheem was absolutely amazing during our stay—he handled every crisis with care and made us feel well taken care of, which we truly appreciated. That said, there were some challenges. The blackouts happened often—most of the time, in fact—and I was surprised the hotel didn’t have a backup generator for emergencies. The room also had ants, and I was bitten for two days straight. The sheets were dirty and even ripped, and there were no chargers available with very few outlets for phones. While the property itself is quaint and has a certain charm, it doesn’t feel well maintained. I had a suite with a patio, which could have been a highlight, but it hadn’t been hosed down before I arrived, which took away from the experience. Overall, the service from Raheem was wonderful, but the upkeep and amenities of the hotel left a lot to be desired.

We were shown three room. First room that was booked had water damage/ wet floor. Mattress not fit bed. Cob webs broken furniture. Second room the mold smell so bad did not enter. Third room broken slats on windows head board detached hair on pillow. Bathroom had small roaches. Chipped sink and stains on walls. We left property it was 9pm when we arrived after long day and this property a nightmare. Clerk was kind and tried but rooms not fit to stay in. And now cannot contact property or you for refund. This not good.

Room was spacious, clean and had a super comfortable bed. Great location, a quick walk to restaurants and the beach. Only thing I didn't like was how bright the room was at night with the light on the AC unit, needed my eye mask but I usually do when I travel.

Beautiful place, and we had a cute room. The beds were just too low, and the headboards were weird (had a space where pillows would fall off). Otherwise, it was accessible to the beach and nearby dining.

This place would have been very cool in the 50's or 60's. It's convenient with good restaurants nearby. The bed was super comfortable with nice clean sheets. It's a bit tall. Our problem was, there was no place to put our stuff. No dresser. The night stands were flimsy and covered with huge lamps. There are no places to hang towels, wash rags or clothes in the bathroom. The basics were clean but the microwave was greasy, behind the handles on the sink was gritty. The corner behind the bathroom door hasn't been cleaned in ages. The red wall in 15 needs a coat of paint. TV did not work well. Don't bring a big car. Parking area is easily blocked by big vehicles.

The check-in process was fine. The parking was very tight and the room was small and had some broken shutters. It also contained a temperamental heating unit and floors that creaked and needed to be replaced in spots. The beds were comfortable and the location good.

Check in was super easy and they were very helpful with local information. They have clearly updated the rooms and furniture to a pleasant aesthetic. Overall, it was a gem of a place. Came for a place for my daughter to recover an extra day after her brain surgery, but will be back for a fun little get away with the spouse.

Check-in process was terrible. No one on site at the stated check in time. A man drove in and came in for check-in at 3:20. He mumbled something, handed me a form to sign, and pushed a physical key to me. I started to ask a question when he stopped me, pushed another paper to me and said read this first. I almost canceled and walked out.

Major complaint is that I tried to checked in around 10 pm, no staff at the desk. I rang the bell multiple times and called front desk number which rang with no answer. Front desk staff was super helpful. Gave me recommendations about restaurants, beaches, walks, etc. Room was quiet - had a great night's sleep. Great location - easy walk to beach. Parking is a bit tight if you want to park next to your room -- a bit hard not to rub up against the bushes. However, everything else was really nice - cute little rooms.

We had a great experience for our one night stay. The person who checked us in gave us a king size bed as an upgraded since they had the availability. We slept great. Everything was clean. Would stay again.

I’m so disappointed. My first stay here was so different. the room was clean, there was shower gel, and coffee supplies. I stayed a week later in the room next door and it was like it was a different hotel. The room was full of dust bunnies as though it hadn’t been cleaned in months. The heater was broken. The wifi didn’t work. When I called the front desk to ask about it, the guy gave me attitude as if I was disturbing him. I asked for supplies for the room and he said he’d bring them by later and never did. I stayed twice in a row here but after this time I switched hotels for the rest of my trip and I won’t be returning. It’s a shame, bc the people on property that don’t care ruin it for the nice staff here that does. When people are on vacation, we’re staying where it’s peaceful. My stay wasn’t.

Location was good and room was clean and comfortable. Slight view of ocean was lovely. Room wasn't cleaned after 1st night of two night stay. Front desk said there was no cleaning staff for that day. Two broken shudders on windows. All night flood lights shown through our room at night. Overall, it appeared the hotel had seen better days and was operating on short staff.

The location was perfection, very cute boutique like hotel with modern amenities. Lots of space for plugging in & loved the bathroom mirror lighting. Very enjoyable having your own private little decking off the room with plenty of room for yoga & a light work out! Lots of closet space! Right across the street from Zuma beach, Spruzzo's food was fabulous Italian with outside seating w/views of the ocean, beach & palm trees!

Adorable small inn with great location for beach & hiking up Pointe Dume. Not really as shown in their ad as no hot tub but pool was clean. Very private area. Not walking distance to any restaurants though unless quite a way to one on beach. Clean room but no coffee maker. Had to microwave water for hot tea. Staff was very polite, kind & efficient! Great parking, (& free!). Beautiful sunny lobby, well maintained & bright. Overall great experience & wish we had had more time there.

We just needed a simple hotel to stay for the night because we didn't feel up to the 3 hour drive home after a long day of hiking. The hotel did the trick, we just needed a hot shower and a place to sleep. We were hungry too and the guy at the front desk recommended the restaurant across the street and it was great! The hotel itself is nothing fancy and it needs some maintenance, but it was clean and comfortable. We wish we could have figured out the decorative fireplace thing and struggled a little to figure out the heater. We were happy that there was a fridge and microwave and coffee maker, the coffee was good but there wasn't any stir sticks provided. The location was good, definitely walkable to the beach or across to the restaurant if needed.

The reception was nice and the garden/ flowers were beautiful. We were struggling to open our door to our room as it had swelled and was stuck. I couldn’t actually open it so the gardener had to help me whilst my husband was parking the car. The advertising said this hotel has been newly refurbished, but our room definitely hadn’t been painted or freshened up for quite some time. Even our balcony was in great need of a lick of paint and new furniture or at least cleaned. Unfortunately we didn’t read the part of that the hotel restaurant was undergoing refurbishing, so we were quite disappointed not to have breakfast included in the booking. Our own fault of course, but we found a really nice restaurant down the road instead. The pool didn’t look very clean, so we didn’t fancy a swim. The location and views were beautiful. Could be a great hotel if you are lucky enough to be put into a newly refurbished room and when the restaurant and pool are in order. The staff was friendly

Don’t do it! The manager and staff are dishonest and have no integrity. They tried to have me sign a bill stating I owed them $700. when I had paid in full upfront! Our sofa was stained, had holes in it and the coffee table was off-kilter. I was told I would get a discount for lack of maid service (they lied and told me it was my fault) and then when I checked out they rescinded the discount because I sent the manager a private message with a bad review.

The atmosphere was great and the local restaurant was walking distance as well as the beach. The room was clean and hospitable but the floor was a bit unsafe for me since its really slippery when wet. The pool deck definitely needs workspace its condemned and no caution was re-displayed. Had a great experience though overall and staff were amazing. Check in was great and Check out was easy. Not too many people which is what I like the most. Would go again overall.
