Beautifully clean rooms. We had a nice balcony. Great parking. Would definitely go back again.

I had a good stay! There was no one to check in due to staff shortages though and I arrived to my room door open and one set of keys on the table. I was a little uneasy as wasn’t sure if there was meant to be two and someone had taken the second set. Bed was also quite hard. But apart from that parking was easy, room was tidy and clean, tv worked well and kitchen had everything you’d need :)

Parking was a little difficult to reverse out of the car park because of the angle parking and not much room to move

Staff was lovely, the room was clean and spacious, you can park at your front door. Location is great, about 10 mins to the harbour.

We were greeted by a polite staff member who efficiently checked us in. The room was better than expected and felt like it had been recently renovated which was good to see. Everything you for need for an overnight stay and walkable to all local amenities and the beach-front. Ample free parking and great being able to park our car directly outside of the room.

The units are modern and brand new. The owner was excellent- very helpful. The premises has plenty of parking, very quiet and very close to shops & entertainment areas. Will definitely return.

5 minute walk off the main road to the water, shops and restaurants. So quiet and away from the activity. Use of laundry on site.

The bed and kitchenette was clean but the carpet was dirty, and the shower had mold. The pillows were huge and hard, bring your own. Reception is only open limited times so plan accordingly. Parking was convenient.

It actually never happens that I write reviews like this - I do here. We stayed in the old apartments area. There was still hair from the previous owner everywhere in the bathroom, and the shower curtain was moldy. When we asked for the apartment to be cleaned, only towels were put down. You started making the bed, but stopped halfway through, etc. Never again!

Shower full of mould, previous occupants hair on towel, stains on carpet inside door. Stay felt dirty and unpleasant. Won't use again.

It was run down and shabby and not very clean. Ants. Door was difficult to lock. Somebody appeared to be living in a van in the carpark just outside the unit.

It took 10 minutes for someone to come to the admin area,so we could book in. The shower floods all over the tiled floor. The grout on the shower tiles is moldy. The shower ran out of hot water. We couldn’t get the T V onto a channel. My partner thought he had broken his toe on the large chair which was slightly sticking out into the bathroom doorway. Overall probably the worst motel room we have stayed in. It certainly wasn’t the motel featured in the photos to advertise this motel.

Room was nice and clean. The pillows were super comfy, beds were too. Will stay again.

The Dolphin Motel was very clean, handy to Paihia and very relaxing, the sofa/couch in the room was very useful for sitting and relaxing.

The property is in a good location and suited our needs as we were meeting friends in the township so nice and handy. Our room was nice and clean. The only thing was that we were on a bottom floor and it was very noisy from the upstairs guests to the point where we could hear them going to the toilet. Little offputting.

It was a comfortable room but nowhere to sit outside. Only plastic chairs in front of each unit looking at the car park. Nice kitchen but could have had a few more things to prepare food.

Our room was in the older part of the property. This area appears ready for an upgrade.

The outside air con unit for the room above us wasVERY noisy and vibrated thru our unit when it was used by those above us. Otherwise our unit was clean and the bed wasVERY comfortable indeed. We suggest having the air con unit checked to see if the vibration can be eliminated

Motel was excellent in the new wing. Clean, quiet & walkable even though it rained for 5 days straight. Rooms really do need a mat at the front door so you do not walk straight in on the carpet with wet shoes

No AC despite being advertised to have it. But the biggest problem was the shower. There was a sign that it was powered by gas so nearly instant hot water but the knob was sensitive. There's sensitive and there's non functional. It only has 2 temperatures - full scalding hot and full cold. Even when you think you finally found warm or good hot for a second, it will go full cold (or scalding hot) without moving the knob on it's own. Location is good, just far enough away from town to be not noisy but a couple minutes walk from the main strip. Staff friendly. But the lack of being able to get a proper shower is a deal breaker. And the no AC was not great either. Bed and pillows were not the most comfortable either - not bad but not the best.

The staff I meet (Robbie and Leo) were very kind and helpful. They went beyond their work duties in waiting for me and my wife and picking us when we arrived. They took us to the International Terminal. Overall it was a nice experience in visiting Auckland.

Due to the encroaching cyclone I had to check out very late at night and not stay the originally planned time and upon speaking to the owner she was so accommodating and understanding and provided some great travel advice. This is my go to stay for business and this is the reason why.

We got a very warm welcome from all at Dolphin. Highly recommended.

When we arrived, there was a note on the Reception door telling us which room we were in and the key was left in the door. Very impersonal. Never did see any worker on the property. Follow the map and you'll probably find your room.

Outstanding service. I asked for an early check in to get ready for a wedding and it was happily accommodated. Spacious newly renovated rooms with all facilities provided. I'd definitely stay again.

First time giving poor review. I emailed - checking in after 6pm. Received email from them saying Check-in closed at 7:30pm. I said I would arrive between 6-7 pm from Auckland. Arrived about 7:05 pm in the dark, and could not find the reception. I called, and someone told me where to find the reception, which was closed... I still could not find it, so I called again, and he said he would come out and show me where it was... The reception light had burnt out, so part of the problem. When I finally met him at the reception office, and asked about the 7:30pm check-in, he replied, but I could not understand him clearly... "sometime they leave earlier" I got the key, and my room was on the second floor, and I had to walk up 14 concrete steps to get there. I am a senior, and stairs are a bit tricky for me... The place was lovely and clean. Thank you! But.... the mattress on the bed was so soft, when I sat on the mattress, it sank down to the mattress frame; it was harder to go to sleep. Also, the shower was about 20 cm off the floor! And no step to get into it... Also, there were 3 holes in the grouting by the toilet with orange plastic around them and 2 similiar holes in the shower- why? One hole hollow - why? A small bag celery was left in fridge. On kitchen wall-Motel policy-wash your dishes and put away or maybe incur a $50 fee. Was not on website. The dark blue dishcloth and teatowel had stains on them. Who last washed the dishes? Vacancy sign half lit on Saturday

The staff at the motel were so helpful, we were running late and the reception was kept open for us which we really appreciated. The room was clean and the facilities ideal for the short stay we had there. The motel is within walking distance to all the amenities in the small town

We had a two night stay in a Superior King room which was in the newer part of the motel so was modern although fairly compact. The carpet was stained and the bottom edge of the shower had a build up of grime but otherwise the room was clean. We were surprised that there were no coathangers in the wardrobe and it would be good to have a hook on the back of the bathroom door. There is no milk provided only packets of creamer which is not great in tea. The check in process was rather interesting as we had to find our name and room number on a piece of paper stuck on the Reception door even though there was a lady at the Reception desk. On the positive side the location is great and it is an easy flat walk to the shops.

Friendly staff and very helpful. Location is good and it's not far from the shopping centre.

Motel is a short walk from the shopping strip so we could walk to shops and restaurants. Unit had been recently renovated so everything was nice and new. Good bed, good shower etc.

We came up for the Jazz Festival, had a studio unit in New block. Good value for money. Handy to everything.

1st class accommodation, nothing spectacular but clean, well maintained and comfortable. Just a 5 minute walk from the seafront and it’s many bars/restaurants/attractions/tours.
