There was no air conditioning so we had to have the window open and contend with the noise of the traffic outside. The double bed was against a wall so you either had to climb over the other person or crawl down the bed to get out. There was no bar or sitting area. The room, albeit small, was clean. There was a coffee machine in the room which is ok but a kettle would have been better as my wife can’t drink coffee.

We liked our stay in Alfa hotel. A very sweet lady at the reception - much appreciated! The room was in good condition, nothing special but exactly like described on the website. We got free tickets for public transport, which came in handy to visit Basel. The tram stop is also in front of the hotel. Only negative point was that there were not enough parking spots.

I regret that I did not have a chance to try out the restaurant, and the in-room capsule coffeemaker was not a success, but the internet connection was good, the room was quiet, and the hotel itself was in an excellent location, especially for St. Jakob Stadium. Check-in and check out were very quick, and I paid extra for a balcony, which was well worth the money. It was a great place to relax and have some coffee, and the nice accordion glass doors and windows sealed out the noise at night. Nearby grocery stores, cafes, a bakery, a handy mini-mart, and easy access to trams downtown. I walked to the stadium in 20 minutes along the little river. I travel with a dog, and we were glad there was a lift in the building. There is a fee of 15 CHF per night for a dog, which I think is a bit steep, but I understand that we are all paying for all the dogs that may or may not be well behaved in hotels.

Overall this stay was as-expected for a place to lay my head for one night after a long day. Clean and well appointed, the only negative was a closed restaurant (understandable with Covid staffing shortages) and a subsequent recommendation for a cafe that is always closed on Mondays (the day of my stay). Not a big deal, though and staff was otherwise very friendly. Would recommend.

Sehr gutes Frühstück, sehr freundliches Personal und stets wurde großer Wert auf Sauberkeit gelegt. Die Zimmer waren zwar nicht das unbedingt das modernste Design, aber sehr gut ausgestattet (Kaffeeautomat, pro Tag zwei Getränke) und durchaus konnte man es dort gut aushalten. Die Tramhaltestelle lag direkt vor der Tür.

Das Check-In via veralteter Gegensprechanlage in Verbindung mit dem Verkehrslärm der Hauptstrasse um ca. 21:15h war eine Katastrophe. An der Reception hing eine Nummer des Nachtconcierge. Zu hören kriegte ich nur die Sprachboxansage - ein Rückruf blieb aus. Das Zimmer (74) für eine Familie ist bezüglich Preis-/Leistungsverhältnis eine Frechheit. Schmudelige Sessel, zwei von drei Storen liessen sich nicht herunterlassen und die entsprechenden Terrassentüren nicht mit dem Schloss schliessen. Im Zimmer selber waren vielerorts Ameisenfallen platziert. Das absolute Highlight waren jedoch das fleckige Kopfkissen und die (fremden) Haare auf dem Bett.

It is conveniently located. The room was clean, neat, and comfortable. The staff was kind and helpful. The price was excellent. I would have preferred a little more variety in the breakfast offerings, which were satisfactory. Also, the towels were not of good quality. The hotel is a little tired. The pillow for the bed was awful to cool the room you have to open the window which was ok but the street noise from vehicles was bad. Hardly slept. Shows is tiny and towels were thread warn. Room size was ok typical European hotel

Overall a very nice hotel - ideal as walking distance to the tennis. Pros : The rooms are decorated in a business style, great English TV channels (which is rare), warm duvets, safes that work & staff are helpful, good euro b'fast so some real pros with trams,Trattoria & coffee shops nearby. Cons: Pillows look great but are pretty useless, bathrooms need an upgrade, as the hotel no longer offers dinner a small fridge should be installed in each room - cheap to run & would be ideal for water/ snacks etc.. should offer luggage store after checkout. Overall really happy with stay but if the cons were reduced it would get 5 stars !

Enigszins teleurstellend. De foto’s van de kamers komen niet overeen met de werkelijkheid. Omdat er een eenpersoons laken op een tweepersoonsbed aanwezig was. De kamer aan de voorzijde ligt aan een rumoerige drukke straat. Badkamer deur sloot niet en viel open omdat deze slecht was afgehangen. Ligging is prima wanneer je op doorreis bent. Bed is redelijk. Redelijk ontbijt.

The hotel is clean and comfortable. Situated right near a tram station, it was very convenient and they offer a free tram voucher for your stay. Front desk closes early, especially on weekends. We had to call the front desk to gain access and our keys were taped inside. We did not get breakfast (as promised) because there was only 2 ppl, they didn't want to prepare for just us (no explanation either).

Meu marido saiu para buscar algo no carro sem o cartão do quarto, pois nos deram somente um, e ao retornar, tocou o interfone da recepção, mas não lembrava qual era o número do nosso quarto (mas obviamente tinha todos os nossos dados para confirmar que era hóspede mesmo), a recepção desligou o interfone na cara dele e deixou ele lá na frente. De resto, a cama era desconfortável e o quarto bem quente.

Ein sehr schönes Hotel für einen Trip nach Basel. Die Haltestelle ist direkt vor der Tür und der Rhein ist in Fußnähe für einen Spaziergang in der Sonne. Das Personal war sehr freundlich und hilfsbereit in allen Belangen. Und das Zimmer war sehr sauber und praktisch eingerichtet. Ich habe mich das Wochenende wirklich sehr wohl gefühlt.

For the first time we have been in Basel and we were looking for a one night hotel with my family, Alfa Hotel is among the best for that purpose because it is more economic than other hotels, so you can choose if your goal is that one; on the other hand the service is not proportionate with the price (it is not only for this hotel, it is generally in Switzerland), also the breakfast was 19€ per person which is really expensive be careful (again it is not only for this hotel, it is general in Switzerland); the hotel is not close to the centre by walking but they are giving public transport chances which I havent seen for other cities-hotels thanks for this kind thought, for cleaning and comfort point of view there were no problems everything was fine for one night stay, thanks for your hospitality
