Hampton Inn & Suites Phenix City- Columbus Area

Wonderful. Loved the lobby couches and fireplace. Lots of seating to hang out for a change of scenery from your room. Everything was clean and well-maintained. The staff were all amazing! No recycling, which was a bummer. Buyer beware, in case it’s still inaccurate when you read this, the photos show a hot tub next to the outdoor pool, but there wasn’t one. That was disappointing since it’s a big reason we chose the hotel.

First of all, there is NO JACUZZI/HOT TUB. The pool photo they have up is not accurate. We chose this hotel for that very feature, and it does not exist. If we had not prepared, we would have left and gone to a different hotel. We received no room service over a 5 night stay. We took out our own trash and got new towels ourselves. Broken key fob upon arrival, broken refrigerator. Breakfast is underwhelming. Staff was nice and helpful if we asked for something, but we shouldn’t have to. The icing on the cake is that the lady at the front desk was asleep when I went to check out. The hotel is new so it’s clean. It seems like someone put a lot of money into a refurbishment without a plan to sustain the property. We won’t be back.

The front doors sound like the might fall off the rails when you walk into the lobby. Not a good intro. Staff attitude is that we will sort of ignore you unless you demand attention as opposed to our 3 day stay in the Winfield, AL Hampton Inn where every staff person greeted you when they saw you.

First they had a hard time making us the electronic keys because the system crashed. Next, on Friday at 6:33 am the firearms started blaring. Then were told there was no fire. The alarms were blaring for nearly an hour. Only on fourth floor! Our flour! Our stay was not impressive.

The facility was very nice. My room was at the end of the building and off the interstate but not enough. The traffic noise was not good. The only sound that drowned it out was the ac unit which was not controlled. It was either always too hot too cold. This could have been operator error but not a very peaceful night. I stayed by myself and never felt unsafe. Nice place just request the farthest room from the interstate

Every member of staff was wonderful. The lobby was a very cozy place to hang out and very relaxing. We were really disappointed that the Jacuzzi pictured in the photos for this property on Hotels.com did not exist. I’m not sure whether this is the fault of Hotels.com or the hotel itself, so I didn’t let it impact our review, but we had chosen the hotel specifically because there was a Jacuzzi, so it was a big let down.

Updated and clean. Front desk “blessed my heart” multiple times during my check-in. Walmart is about 2.5 miles away. Tricky entrance, but you get used to it. Great breakfast! Huge room for our family of 5- We booked the suite. Showers have good water pressure and shampoo, conditioner, body wash, and body lotion that smell super!

They are dog friendly

Afternoon staff was great! Wish there was a bar for food and drinks or a place close by that you didn’t have to drive to.

This Hampton Inn location is on my usual travel route, so I was glad to find front row parking & online availability. Upon entering the lobby, I was greeted with a sign indicating that the front desk attendant was in the restroom & would return momentarily. “Momentarily’ turned into 20 minutes, so I called Hampton Inn, hoping to gain someone’s attention with a ringing phone at 2 a.m. The booking service was able to call the front desk & immediately produce the night attendant who promptly stated that the hotel was completely full, but that wasn’t accurate info, as there was plenty of vacancy so I simply booked online in front of him & gave him my itinerary #. After I booked online, the attendant stated that he felt bad because I’d taken the last room, which was intended for someone else. However, there was still plenty of online availability, especially @ 2 a.m., so I encouraged him to tell guests to book there. Online was easy, but getting the attendant present for access was difficult. I assume the sign posted at the front desk was to dissuade travelers from staying for whatever reason. I stood in front of the desk’s overhead camera, so I hope management will verify this review. I stopped @Hampton Inn for sleep, not to wait an excessive time for misinformation. The room was fine, except for the bath, which had multiple hairs present on the toilet & shower. This experience wasn’t favorable & it happened at another Hampton Inn the next night. What’s going on?

The room clean, hotel clean, breakfast great

We were there for an archery competition. The hotel was completely full. Everything was kept clean. Service was great. Staff were friendly.

Property was very dirty, floor were not cleaned in the lobby, elevator and bathroom floors inside the room. Dirt and dust everywhere. toiletries were not replenished, most of the staff in the bathroom was half full and used by previous guest. I asked for room service such as fresh towel, box of tissue and toilet paper and never received it. Breakfast area was not clean, food options were limited and not very tasteful. Would not recommend this hotel brand. I will never use or stay at this hotel brand again. Terrible experience

Jasmine was a great host. She was very friendly and took care of any questions we had. She even upgraded us to a bigger room because our room wasn’t quite ready yet. Rooms were clean and roomy. Will definitely stay here again

The bed was loud and squeaky. The tub wasn’t really clean. The other door leading to the other room is creepy and should be taken out. I heard the other party playing with the lock on the door!

The bathroom toilet seat had urine on it as well as urine around the commode. And the cable in the room did not work. :((

The hotel lobby was very nice. As far as my room, the water pressure in the sink was very low, had to use water from tub to brush teeth and wash hands. Informed front desk and they offered to change my room but I had already unpacked my things. Other than that there were no other complaints.

We got the larger suite with 2 double beds and a pull out couch. The room was VERY spacious! You could tell the property was older, but clean. There were hot options on the breakfast spread, as well as your typical continental breakfast items. My biggest complaint is that there were no food options nearby. There was a gas station next door, but otherwise you have to drive a ways to get any other food option.

Hotel conveniently located across the river from the Civic Center in Columbus, which was our destination. Hotel very clean and inviting. Only complaint, and its an overall issue for Hampton in general are the pillows in the room. Theres nothing to them, i describe them as a pillow case folded up inside another pillow case. Every Hampton I've stayed in has been the same. Other than the pillows, everything was great.

Overall this place was exactly what we needed for an overnight stay. Clean, comfortable, and accommodating. We rented the two queens, and pull out, and the pull out was fairly comfortable as well.

The property was clean. It can use some special attention in some areas but oversall it was clean. My only problem was the bed. Neither my husband or I slept well at all! We tossed and turned both nights.

The rooms are nice cleaned very well. Breakfast bar had to many flies and food was not ready the 3 different times I went. All 3 days had to many flies also lacking food options only 2%milk Night staff was very friendly and polite. Mid-moring shift people could have been more helpful.

Front desk staff was great. Friendly and very helpful. Did not get housekeeping service daily which I did not like. Asked for it at noon but staff had already gone for the day! Trash cans were full, ran out of toilet paper. Was able to get clean towels at front desk. Room was pretty clean on arrival. Hotel is older but fairly well maintained. Bedding was in need of updating/replacing but beds were comfortable. Breakfast was great.

The customer service was excellent. I had the pleasure to be checked in by Amy Jordan. After traveling for quite sometime she was able to make my check in painless and swift. The room was clean and I was impressed by the staff, free breakfast and overall appearance of the hotel. I highly recommend this hotel.

The customer service. all the ladies at the front desk were extremely helpful the hospitality was excellent! The breakfast was included and not bad at all.

Staff was very helpful with suggestions and friendly. Breakfast daily was perfect way to start a day with 7 very indecisive family members. Close to Columbus,GA and Fort Benning. Right off main road that offered numerous options and only 40 minutes to Auburn, Al. We will return again in a few months to visit Fort Benning.

I arrived late in the evening and I was pleasantly surprised with the accommodations. The room was clean and neat, the staff was pleasant and it was quiet. Phenix City isn’t a particularly safe area and it takes a couple of weird turns to arrive at the property. But for a single night, I wouldn’t hesitate to stay here again.

Room was clean, nice and comfy. Front desk lady seemed a little up tight. Had diarrhea for a few days after I had the breakfast. Hotel’s nice overall, just pass on the breakfast.

I stayed on this property while visiting my soldier and it was one of the best Hampton Inns I have stayed at. The staff was extremely helpful, the breakfast was fantastic and everyone was friendly.
