We were disappointed re amenities stated on the web site were not operational e.g. Sauna and Gym, the pool was good but the area around was not clean. The hangers in the closet were so high we could not reach them and we were not advised that maid service was not daily.

We stayed here for a local hockey tournament and knew the pool was down due to renovations so knowing that ahead of time was a bonus. Staff was very friendly and although the rules state no playing in the halls or mini sticks, they gave us a nice big salon room for the kids to play and adults to gather. Included breakfast was perfect. Sausage, bacon, scrambled eggs, yogurt, cereal, waffle maker etc… it’s an old hotel but it’s clean and beds are comfy for the price as long as your open minded you can’t go wrong. Don’t expect a 5 star hotel and you will be satisfied

Room 415 was full of bugs and spiders. The patio had a lot of bird poop and you could not sit on the chairs because they were covered in poop. The garbage cans outside were overflowing and attracted a lot of bugs. Hugs wasp nest on the side of the building beside where we were parked. Could use a good cleaning outside of the building.

I liked the price but what i did not like is that the carpet in my room seemed to never have been cleaned in many years. I understand they can't clean carpets every year but maybe they should clean it every 5 years maybe... on a rotating basis.

Our outdoor room entrance was completely infested with spiders. We killed at least 15 and then more would come. We asked the front desk if they had a spray, they did not. The other side of the accommodation seemed to be better kept. The pool was dirty and slimy. The pull out couch in our room was very torn up. Would not stay here again.

Liked the pond with the ducks. Couch bed was very soft, you could feel the bars underneath. The door jams were filthy. Grout in the shower was mouldy. Hotel was musty smelling. Breakfast options were good.

The stay was pleasant. The room was clean. The beds were clean and comfy. The bathroom could use an upgrade. Staff was friendly. Breakfast was great. Pool area was clean. Hot tub should have been a little hotter and pressure on the jets could have been a little higher. But overall, we enjoyed our stay. It was our second stay. We were there in June. Would definitely return there. Well worth the cost.

This is a large, older property, 2 storey high motel style where one can park in front of one's room if staying on the main floor. There is no elevator to access the rooms on the second floor but the staff is quick to offer to help. The second floor where we stayed had a very strong musty smell and the carpet looked very old. The room did not smell once we opened the door to the balcony. The bed was comfortable, the room was spacious and the bathroom was partially renovated and very clean. The decor is outdated but for an overnight stay everything was fine. The hotel was quiet at night and provided a good night's sleep. The breakfast that is included is the usual pre-made scrambled eggs and sausages with an assortment of breads and pastries. The coffee was hot and tasted good, the staff was there to help with any issue. This was probably a top notch place when it was first built, it even has a stunning floor to ceiling stone fireplace in the foyer but they no longer burn wood in it... that's too bad! This is the sort of place I use to bring my sons to when we had hockey tournaments: inexpensive, room does the job, breakfast included, nothing fancy.

It had an active railroad at one end and a small highway at the other end. The A/C was noisy too. There was no elevator so we had to drag our things upstairs to the second floor. We had a small balcony over looking a duck pond which is a nice but rare feature.

Arrived 1.5 hours early for check-in, front desk advised she didn’t have the clean room list yet so she couldn’t check us in and check in was at 3pm. We had a picnic in the parking lot and my kids played on their swing set. After 30 minutes, I asked again. She said check in in any until 3pm. I waited in the lobby for 30 minutes until 5 minutes until 3, then there was a customer service shift change. That girl checked us in, no problem. Laziness, and poor customer service to have someone wait 1.5 hours. They didn’t have their advertised breakfast, only bagels. Coffee was good. Homeless people were stealing all of their instant oatmeal by the armload and I advised a staff member. She told me she only works here and couldn’t do anything about it? Overall, I think they need better customer service and maybe look a little more professional at their service desk. Update their facilities because they are getting pretty run down. It does appear that they’re trying though, with the updates. I think it’s a pretty old building. The little cabins have seen better days, and we were woken up by the train going by at like 2am. The AC unit absolutely needed to be turned on to give some background noise to sleep.

The check-in process was not smooth. The room that was assigned to us was already occupied by someone else. Fortunately, there was another room available to us. The bathroom was disappointing; the water was barely warm, the toilet had to be flushed multiple times, and the toilet was too low - not ideal for anyone with mobility issues or bad knees. The air conditioning unit was extremely noisy. On the plus side, the staff were friendly and very accommodating. I would probably not stay here again unless the facility went through a complete refresh.

This may be an older property but we found everything inside had been updated. The staff were very friendly and accommodating. We were able to park outside or patio door, and easy carry into our very large room with a comfortable King bed. The room had both a bar fridge and microwave. Theres an indoor pool and hot tub. The all inclusive full choice hot breakfast was fantastic. Fantastic value! We would definitely stay again.

This motel is definitely off the beaten path....I suspect mostly for truck drivers. It had a very nice breakfast that was included which started at 5am.... great for getting an early start to the day. No restaurants, shopping that is close enough to walk to, but a cute pond and outdoor chairs.

This motel is outside of town but easy accessible off the highway. The room was spacious and the bed very comfortable. We had the side facing the train tracks but did not hear the train as it went through. The pool is a smaller size but good for a relax with the hottub. Breakfast was excellent. Fresh hot eggs, sausage, waffle maker, juices, coffee, breads and cereal for options. We would gladly stay there again.

It was a convenient location for our trip to PEI. It was halfway for our travels. It was a good price to a stopover. The bedding was clean and pretty comfortable. It was busy but it’s prime travel season. We paid $10 more for view of pond, not necessary if you have option for cheaper room. Otherwise good for one night stay.

This place is fine for what is. We just needed an overnight stay. I think the owners could do some updates but overall it was very clean and comfortable. We got there late but everything in this town closes at 9 pm. We were starving! During the day the town is lively and close to the must-see Grand Rapids.

We enjoyed our stay immensely! The staff was lovely. Our kids enjoyed interacting with the ducks in the pond, as well as the playground. We all enjoyed the pool and hot tub. The hot breakfast was included and had many option. The food was fresh and readily available. We will definitely be staying again.

Great place to stay at. Room was renovated. The personel were very helpful and polite. The breakfast was amazing. Stayed 2 nights within 2 nights apart. Both mornings we ahd chocie of fuits, bacon, sausauge, patatoes, eggs, coffe, juice, cereals. Hot breakfast with a lot of choice. Easy to find, Close to other restaurants.

Lovely location rooms could use some updates. Unfortunately the delivery truck with the breakfast foods hadn’t arrived yet and so all I got was toast and coffee for breakfast. Usually they have a nice breakfast. Would probably stay again.
