Easy for a night at the theatre. Good value, excellent breakfast. Helpful staff. Limited parking but multi storage about 100 yards down road. Cheaper than roadside for 24hour if no spaces at hotel.

The hotel and rooms were smart, clean and well presented. Breakfast was very good. There is no air conditioning in the rooms and on a hot night this required having the window open all night which meant it was quite noisy. Car parking is absolute chaos though, tiny car park which means most cars are blocked in and they charge you £15.00 which seems very high.

Room was nice but charging £12.50 to park in the hotel car park is ludicrous. Especially as I had to move a car that was blocking me in the following morning.

Beautiful old building, lovely big room, super staff, good location. Only criticisms are access to power sockets on just one side of bed and poorly fitting sash window. Worth understanding that check in times are due to no staff onsite after 8.30pm so late arrival matters, they aren't just being difficult. Public car parking in Barbican/Hoe areas is pay and display on road mostly, so hotel charge of £12.50 for 24 hrs is cheaper, but if your car is only there overnight the road can be a lot less.

We have stayed at the Imperial Plymouth many times and it never disappoints...the staff are so friendly, the breakfast is yummy and we always leave feeling very refreshed...can't wait for our next stay in October. (The only 'downside' is that they are now charging for parking which only came in this year - it wouldn't stop us staying again but this was one of the reasons we liked this hotel and just wanted to mention it to the new owners as I am sure that we aren't the first to make this comment.)

Excellent location. Staff friendly and rooms were clean. Car parking and breakfast are limited. Also, dont be fooled by the picture of a swimming pool on the website. This is a lido about 10 minutes walk away

The running of the hotel has recently been taken over, at the moment it retains a friendly, welcoming persona. Would definitely return. If you are able to get a parking space at the hotel, there is now a £12.50 a day charge.

The staff were lovely - very helpful. Our room at the top of the hotel was quite small and the toilet/shower room was tiny. Breakfast was good. We were a bit surprised to be charged £12.50 for parking as that was never mentioned in the booking process. Overall very happy and would stay again.

I have stayed several times at this hotel and everytime the stay has been very comfy with welcoming staff who are very accomodating. Lovely and clean throughout comfy beds and lovely hot power showers. I have only had breakfast for one of the stays but there was plenty of choice and all was delicious. I would definitely return.

Very convenient location. Beautiful Victorian buildings with lots of original features retained giving a great feel. Nice room with very modern en-suite all of which were spotlessly clean. Finished off with a hearty breakfast. I will definitely return.

Hotel staff were excellent and very friendly. Our room was clean but a bit shabby with large damp patch on ceiling. Breakfast was good and location was central. Only disappointment was that there was no parking available.

Booked room off internet which looked lovely and was shown to a run down shack in the back of hotel in the carpark.Was absolutely nothing like was advertised and stunk of mold and damp.I immediately complained saying this was the room i booked and that the room stunk of mold.Was told there was no other rooms available and i couldn't have my money back.It smelt that bad i wouldn't of stayed there for free. I lodged complaint with hotel and experia who we booked with and was told nothing could be done . Will never return and i advise not booking the winchester room as its not fit for humans

Our stay at Imperial Plymouth was very comfortable. The rooms were very large, and good sized bathroom with excellent hot water supply. Breakfast was wonderful. Plenty of options, and well presented. Parking was available on site but we chose to pay and park on the street. The property was undergoing renovations, but this did not cause too much inconvenience. The staff were very accommodating and ensured we had late access after our car issues delayed our arrival. All in all we had a great stay.

Absolutely loved this hotel. Receptionist on check in was very helpful and pleasant, nothing was too much trouble. The room was fabulous, one huge room with queen bed and a totally separate room with a single bed and basin. Having a partner who snores like a freight train, the separate bedroom was a godsend. Lovely breakfast both cooked and continental. Great location right on the Hoe and 5 minutes walk to The Barbicon. Quick walk to city centre. Everything was really clean and the towels were large and fluffy. If not travelling would have stayed for a week. £10 to park overnight with paid street parking also available. Parking might be a bit tight in high season. Overall a great stay.

Conveniently located for Plymouth Hoe - a short walk up the hill. Our room was on the top floor up a very steep and narrow flight of stairs. It was a large room, with a reasonably comfortable bed. There were tea and coffee making facilities in the room. There was a small terrace with chairs, but the door was locked and nobody was able to locate the key. The main problem was the shower, the bathroom is very small and the shower enclosure is therefore very small. Halfway through my shower the water slowed to a dribble and then totally stopped! Eventually it came back on, but only at a trickle. Not a great start to the day. We did mention this at reception and they said they would check it out! Great breakfast with plenty of choice.

Very small twin room but ok. The bed was thé worst I’ve ever slept in and I’m 56 ! It almost felt like the springs were digging into me. Really silly things overlooked like the plug sockets. Two on the floor but kettle has a short lead so absolute health and safety disaster balancing kettle on edge of table. The breakfast was just so so, fried eggs were too runny and snotty and cheap bacon so I ate nothing and we skipped breakfast the next day. Filter coffee that was cold. The photos of breakfast are completely misleading. The room was ok in so far it was clean and shower room nice and clean. My 14 yo slept fine. The ONLY thing this place has are the staff are beyond wonderful and helpful at every single turn. I did witness an agressive drunk lady be so rude to one of the girls as I was coming in. A little latter I came back to check on the employee and asked was there anyone to support her and she said hopefully someone was coming but they were busy PURE SERVICE SORT YOUR EMPLOYEES WELL BEING AS A PRIORITY!!!!! .

positives ; comfortable mattress, clean room negatives; customer care appalling, damp room, very unwelcoming( except for a nice cleaning lady who actually spoke to you), couldn't eat breakfast in peace, one member of staff banging chairs,plates,cutlery with no consideration that customers were trying to eat their breakfast. I frequently stay in Plymouth and so far this has been the worse experience for being so unwelcoming, if you are wanting a welcoming holiday experience, avoid this place.

Check in was very easy. Our room was upgraded to a suite which was amazing. The person at the front desk walked me to the room to show me which keys opened which doors and made sure we were happy with the room. It was definitely above and beyond. The building was older, but it’s England and it was to be expected. The room was clean and bright and had everything we needed. We also enjoyed a wonderful breakfast the next morning. Would definitely recommend.

The building was older, but it’s England and it was to be expected. The room was clean and bright and had everything we needed. We also enjoyed a wonderful breakfast the next morning. Would definitely recommend.

Room was ready early and was spacious, clean, modern and comfortable. The staff went out of their way to help us including finding a bowl for us to use as an ice bucket! Towels were huge and luxurious. Perfect night away with enough space and comfort to relax. Brilliant location walking distance from the hoe and theatre.

Very small twin room but ok. The bed was thé worst I’ve ever slept in and I’m 56 ! It almost felt like the springs were digging into me. Really silly things overlooked like the plug sockets. Two on the floor but kettle has a short lead so absolute health and safety disaster balancing kettle on edge of table. The breakfast was just so so, fried eggs were too runny and snotty and cheap bacon so I ate nothing and we skipped breakfast the next day. Filter coffee that was cold. The photos of breakfast are completely misleading. The room was ok in so far it was clean and shower room nice and clean. My 14 yo slept fine. The ONLY thing this place has are the staff are beyond wonderful and helpful at every single turn. I did witness an agressive drunk lady be so rude to one of the girls as I was coming in. A little latter I came back to check on the employee and asked was there anyone to support her and she said hopefully someone was coming but they were busy PURE SERVICE SORT YOUR EMPLOYEES WELL BEING AS A PRIORITY!!!!! .

Very convenient location. Beautiful Victorian buildings with lots of original features retained giving a great feel. Nice room with very modern en-suite all of which were spotlessly clean. Finished off with a hearty breakfast. I will definitely return.

The Imperial Hotel is conveniently located for The Hoe and The Barbican. Reasonably priced with off road parking, which to us is a must. Good breakfast. Staff friendly.

Ideal location in Plymouth. 10 mins walk to the Hoe. Very friendly and helpful staff. I used to regularly stay there when on business. Now I’m very happy to stay there for leisure.

A good spot. There is parking in front and behind. Parking behind may mean "jockeying cars". Close to the harbour and restaurants, parks, harbour tours.

Our stay at Imperial Plymouth was very comfortable. The rooms were very large, and good sized bathroom with excellent hot water supply. Breakfast was wonderful. Plenty of options, and well presented. Parking was available on site but we chose to pay and park on the street. The property was undergoing renovations, but this did not cause too much inconvenience. The staff were very accommodating and ensured we had late access after our car issues delayed our arrival. All in all we had a great stay.

Easy for a night at the theatre. Good value, excellent breakfast. Helpful staff. Limited parking but multi storage about 100 yards down road. Cheaper than roadside for 24hour if no spaces at hotel.

Conveniently located for Plymouth Hoe - a short walk up the hill. Our room was on the top floor up a very steep and narrow flight of stairs. It was a large room, with a reasonably comfortable bed. There were tea and coffee making facilities in the room. There was a small terrace with chairs, but the door was locked and nobody was able to locate the key. The main problem was the shower, the bathroom is very small and the shower enclosure is therefore very small. Halfway through my shower the water slowed to a dribble and then totally stopped! Eventually it came back on, but only at a trickle. Not a great start to the day. We did mention this at reception and they said they would check it out! Great breakfast with plenty of choice.

The room was clean and there was a fan thankfully. Just a little bit tired looking. Perfectly suitable for a theatre visit. Perfect location. Your car will probably be blocked in with a risk of delayed departure. Fortunately we were blocked in by staff who let us out quickly. It’s a bonus to have any parking in this area. Was cheaper than by the road parking which was double that (£10) Shower great. Bed not (bit small) so but clean enough. Breakfast great lots of choice. Very very friendly. Overall would recommend for an overnighter.

We flew in late to Bristol airport and notified the hotel via telephone that we were destined to be too late for check in. Rachael arranged for our key to be left for us which really made our arrival pretty relaxing, all things considered. Breakfast was grand, the location is very central and the showers were great.

Stayed in the Armada Suite - a self catering two bedroom apartment with kitchen and living room facilities. Very clean and spacious. Plates, cutlery and basic kitchenware provided as well as a cooker, microwave and toaster. Tea, coffee, hot chocolate and biscuits on arrival in room. Loads of drawer space and small wardrobe. Bathroom clean and bright with lovely big sink and cupboard / drawer storage. Could do with an extractor fan as only got non opening skylight and it did get very hot! Limited parking on site for extra fee of £10 per night. Otherwise on street parking for approx £20 for 24 hrs. Reception staff very friendly and welcoming. Excellent location as very close to the town centre and the Hoe. Street noise early evening but soon quietened down. Tescos and Coop both conveniently located nearby. Would definitely recommend.
