BEST WESTERN PLUS Hotel Hong Kong

The room cleaning service is great! The place is nice and convenient. However, the gym is really small and the price of the room should be with the breakfast but it didn't.I still have a nice living experience here.

Within my 16 days stay, it had 2 nights with “schedule power shut down maintenance”. The hotel won’t let us know when we were checking in. Imagine a hot night without air conditioning and light……We will never come back to this hotel.

The hotel does not have wheelchair access. The wheelchair access ramp and doors are closed, cordoned off and always blocked by suitcases. Complaints to the staff got no response. In fact, the duty manager's excuse was: "We don't get many disabled people here." He then said that if we didn't like the rooms (we had 2), we could get a refund and go elsewhere. It was late at night and we had 2 elderly people who could not walk. The WIFI is quite poor, vey slow, so if anyone has important work or meetings, please note.

Facilities quality is old. Toilet does not flush well, sometimes flush does not work.

Overall, the stay was pleasant. The rooms were clean and had plenty of storage. The area around the facility was good and easy access to buses and the tram. Some downsides, the room's outlets didnt work with the hair dryer that was provided and the exercise room lacked luster as it only had 2 small exercise bikes a tiny treadmill and one bench with a few weights.

The hotel needs vennovation

We arrived on the date when Hong Kong was hit by a super typhoon. Appreciate their staff stick to work, to provide us a place to stay & most importantly, food to survive during the typhoon. The front desk staff also advise us to get bottle water & cup noodles from the convenient store & breads from the bakery nearby as even the hotel might not have enough food for everyone. They usually just provide buffet breakfast but offer lunch as well on the typhoon day. They have the self service laundry & you can pay by Octopus card (which is very popular in Hong Kong for transports & food). The only problem is their email got bounce back, no responses by message & phone. Maybe it’s just the chaotic situation of the typhoon. Luckily I have friends in Hong Kong so she can go in person to guarantee my bookings in case I got delay by the typhoon.

An old style hotel lack of proper maintenance. No indication of the floor numbers during the lifts running and not easy to hear the sound when it arrived.

Only positive is the location of the hotel is great, next to a tram, 5 min walk from a MTR and workers are nice. The hotel was hardly clean, towels are old with holes and the drain is clogged with hair. USB charging ports don't work. Fridge is a joke. Not a pleasant experience on our last night due to suspension of electrical supply and scheduled building inspection so we weren't able to charge our devices, AC wasn't on so we hardly slept.

The lobby, check in reception areas is terribly dirty, chairs and sofa plus the layout is the worst i have seen. Those mismatched sofas at the lobby look like someone picked them up from recycling bins. The room smelled unhealthy. Mouldy.. Elevators are so old, so very slow and so small.

Depuis longtemps l'hôte ne fait pas de travaux. Sous le lit et les armoires de la poussière depuis des mois. Sur les armoires également. Je l'ai signalé, mais tout le monde s'en fou! Egalement pleins de mites qui volent.

Musty smell, humid, dusty and some mold in the ceiling but location is good. Have photo proof. They did accommodate with dehumidifier. Overpriced for what it is.

Too old, too dirty. Dryer is not working. Shower base is leaking. The ceiling light is flashing. Told to house keeping, she said have to report to electrical department and everything remains the same until we’re leaving.

Old building, old carpets. Moldy ordor was serious. Window out side is facing apartment which is trrible. Nothing to see. Bugs(little moths) were flying in the room from time to time. No complimentary water at all. No(or not enough??) ventilation which causes humidity inside, resulting in mold smell, I guess.

The carpet in the room smells, carpet stains everywhere. So it's hard to remove the stains thus become smelly.

객실 위생상태가 좋지않아서인지 날벌레가 계속 나왔고 나중엔 유충도 보였습니다. 옷장속, TV 뒤 벽지에서요. 예약사이트 통해서 컴플레인을 했지만 아무것도 해줄수 없다는 입장이었습니다. 프런트 직원도 좀 불친절했고요. 위치는 괜찮지만 오래되었고 위생등 관리가 잘 안되는 호텔입니다 추천하기 어렵습니다

We found a single bed bug in the first room assigned to us. We went down to inform the receptionist and asked for a new room. The receptionist wasn’t very apologetic, in fact no apologies made at all. No attempt at service recovery. The new room had no bed bugs thankfully, and generally feels a bit cleaner. The property generally is very dated and old and probably need an urgent make over. But size wise it’s amazing for HK standard. The daily turnover service is also not bad, no complaints about that. For everything offered, I think the hotel is quite pricy. Would not stay here again unless necessary because of location.

홍콩 도심, 페리 항구와 멀지 않습니다. 바로 앞에 버스정류장과 트램 정거장이 있어서 이동하기 편리합니다. 공항 버스도 바로 맞은편 정거장에서 탈 수 있습니다. 호텔 주변에 코인 세탁기와 다양한 식당이 있어 조식, 점심, 저녁 모두 편리하게 식사할 수 있고 편의점도 가깝습니다. 엘리베이터에서 객실 층에 내렸을 때 곰팡이 냄새가 너무 심하게 났습니다. 객실 내에도 곰팡이 냄새가 상당히 나고 창문을 열어 환기 시킬 수가 없습니다. 청소가 제대로 되지 않아 카페트에 이전 손님의 머리카락과 기타 부스러기 등 오염물이 그대로 있었습니다. 단지 침대 시트와 수건만 교체하는 듯해 보였습니다. 객실 내 시설은 많이 낡긴 했지만 사용하는데에는 문제가 없었습니다. 종합하자면 위치는 베스트는 아니지만 상당히 편리합니다. 하지만 위생 면에서 많이 아쉬웠기 때문에 가격 대비 불만족입니다.

The room was cleaned but not clean. I found almonds under the bed and in the corner of the room by the window I found candy wrappers. The smell of mold permeated the rooms and halls to the point it appears as if the staff is noseblind to it. I was given the opportunity to switch to other rooms but they smelled just as bad. I bought baking soda to help neutralize some of the odor but the smell was so bad I actually stayed somewhere else for part of my stay. For the cost it was not worth it.

The room is spacious and is very quiet, despite the hotel is in the city. The added bonus is the availability to the airport express bus which stops just across the street from the hotel. For seniors, the ticket (one-way) is HK$21.00. Bus stops and tram stations are in front of the hotel. Highly recommended.

This hotel is so dated back to the 1980's. It is unrenovated and the furnitures are so beated up. The room is fairly large BUT there massive furnitures inside. The free standing closed takes up a huge amount of bedroom space and so over powering. If you can afford a bit more money stay away from this hotel. I will originally given a non smoking room but it reaks of smoke. The carpet is so dirty and worn out. I did not enjoy my 3 days stay. Will never again book this hotel.

The room is so dark & the sockets in the room is not enough & not functioned well.

The room is a bit cramped. I can only open my suitcase on the bed. The closet is old and in rough shape. The door doesn’t close all the way. And the gap between the bed and the window is super narrow. Every time I go to the bathroom, I have to pull the curtain open.

The quality of the room reflected the price paid, which was relatively low. The room was quite old and the single beds had mattress toppers that moved around when you slept. But there was a kettle with tea and coffee and the room was spacious by hk standards, so I was happy with my stay. Could hear a lot of noise from other guests in the hallway.

Room and decor were worn and needed repairs. Ideal location to be near Metro, buses and Dingding. Need new supply of towels. Staff was efficient. Inexpensive room rate reflects in the quality of the room.

This hotel is not suitable for business travelers due to its poor WiFi connection. The rooms are clean and staff friendly.

Good value for the stay. One thing I liked was it is relatively spacious for the price. Room was very clean. Staff was friendly and helpful. The rooms could use some updating. Location is great. Walking distance to everything.

Standard Room ist extrem klein. Die Geräusche im Flur sind laut zu hören. Das Zimmer war sauber.

The good thing about this hotel is that they kept the room clean every day and the bed I had was firm enough. Otherwise, the building looks really shabby, the safe was broken, and the service is non existent. For instance, I had to leave for the airport before 6 am and wasn’t able to hail a cab in the street. So, I asked a guy at the desk to call for a cab, but he didn’t even bother picking up the phone and all the response I got was to go back to the street and find one myself. I will never stay in this hotel again.

Rude staff, not helpful. The key card didn’t work 3 times in the 7 days I was there, annoying to go back down over 29 floors in a small cramped elevator to get it fixed then head back on that elevator. No help with taxi or tourist spots. No map available. You are basically on your own, which is fine, but a little help finding the nearest metro would have been nice. Bed is hard, the suite is a joke, the furniture is covered and seems like it was plastic patio furniture. The area is run down part of town.

次回もコチラを使わせていただきます スタッフの対応も丁寧ドアマンもいましたが帰りの便が早朝でスタッフが1人でドアマンまで対応してくれました 設備は古く感じますが掃除もしっかりしてました　欲を言えばタオル類がフカフカだといいですね！あとお水ペットボトルがあれは良かったですね！3人でしたので3台シングルベットがあり掛け布団もいい感じでしたので満足でした　鏡がたくさんあり女子2人いましたが支度がスムーズでした！　空港までのバス停もすぐ近くトラムも目の前でとても便利でした

Staff not helpful.

Overall everything is good. Reception staffs really nice and helpful, Ada Chan is amazing, well look after us as we didn't book the stay due to our flight being cancelled caused by typhoon and the hotel was fully booked that night. She helped us to find a room and I really appreciate for her effort.

Will definitely book here again. Clean and spacious. Staff are polite and courteous. Towels are changed daily. Coffee and tea are provided. Our rooms are cleaned daily. Provided flat iron and ironing board upon request. Happy with our stay with them.

Very convenient location right by a tram stop in Sai Ying Pun as well as busses to and from the airport (A10). Rooms are quite spacious (for HK standards) and well kept.

Easy bus transportation from and to the airport.

Pretty good location, not so close to MTR (700-800m) but there's a tram stop in front and a bus stop just cross the street (including A12 Airport bus which can be faster (and cheaper) than Airport Express). Calm area, convenience stores around, good breakfast locations as well (Blue Mountain Cafe our favourite). Stayed 7 nights at triple room, as for HK standards, there was enough room to keep 3 big travel suitcases ;) 3.5* rating seems accurate.

It is easy to go to the airport.

The building is old, but it only adds it its charm. Good hotel for a fair price. I stayed one night only, but I believe that it would be a good place for a longer stay as well.

6 mins walk to mtr, many buses in front of hotel including trams. I can get everything I need around hotel including laundromat. Helpful staff. Would stay there again. The express bus from airport stops less than 100 m near hotel.

Location of property was good, close to all types of public transits, especially the AirPort Express bus stops (both ways) are less than 5 min walk. The hotel itself was a bit dated but reasonably clean and very spacious, which was a rare find in Hong Kong. For the money I paid it was a steal.

Close to the public transportation, very convenient place to stay in Hong Kong Island.

Location is great! There's Airport Express buses right across the street. Close to MTR as well. Hotel is a little old, but clean. Room is spacious. Many dining options around. Will stay again.

It is close to HKU

I booked a standard twin room and stayed in this hotel for 8 nights in a separate room with my family. Some standard rooms may be different from others. Some rooms may have inadequate lighting. Rooms have a very classical design, so one may not expect luxury in this hotel, especially with the standard rooms. Rooms get a general clean up/tidy up every day; advice to lock up bags/luggage to prevent potential theft before heading out. The beds are a big letdown and tarnishes the ratings of this hotel. The pillows are too big and cushiony resulting in neck pain and uncomfortable nights. The staff are overall very nice, they were able to fix my keycard access to my room a few times which is why I'm giving this a 4/5 not 3/5. Regarding amenities, you have to pay ~65 HKD for breakfast and ~40 HKD with an Octopus card to use washing facilities. Disposables have to be purchased from a vending machine and not given for free. The hotel location is very convenient for food, shopping and transport both MTR and buses to the Airport. I haven't run into any problems with my rooms nor theft of items as I put valuables inside the locked luggage before going out. In summary, this hotel did a great job at serving its foundational purpose of being a hotel and allowing convenient travel to places one wishes to visit. Despite the room's looks being outdated, this hotel has a long road of potential growth and quality improvement. Likely come back to this place in the far future.

트램도 바로 앞에서 타고 버스도 바로 앞에서 타고내려서 아주 편리했다 좀 아쉬운건 타올을 큰거만 주고 작은타올을주지않아서 좀 불편했고 욕조가 없어서 조금은 아쉬웠다. 그외에는 친절하고 깨끗하고 조용했다. 조식도 아주 저렴하게 잘 먹었다

I loved my 8 nights here! Staff and cleaners were lovely. I enjoyed this area of town. I would return. Only con: my key card didn’t work 2x. Breakfast is a standard meal for meat eaters for $10 USD. Unfortunately no option for vegetarians

Excellent location with plenty of transport links and places to eat nearby. As lots of reviews state, the property is dated but had everything we needed and spent most of our time outside of the hotel. We chose to have breakfast at the hotel this morning for ease - wasn’t aware it finished at 10am so we’re only offered one option which arrived cold and was inedible. Property clean on the whole - some areas looked neglected and probably needed a deeper clean. Hair in our shower and someone else’s sock on one of the shelves when we arrived. Overall good for a budget stay in central HK.

If you go there from the airport, take the bus, not the MTR. The bus stops across the street! The breakfast buffet was awful and the internet was spotty at times , but good value and location. The staff was friendly and helpful. Check in and out was quick and efficient.

We had a wonderful stay. Room was clean and comfortable, breakfast was great a very affordable, and the location made it easy to get around town. Definitely would stay here again.
