Not the biggest bedrooms, but clean. Prime location. Walking distance to everything like metro, restaurants, and shopping. Finding the entrance was a little confusing. It says hostel but it's clean and modern. Consistent hot water, ac, and an elevator are a gem in Europe. Would stay again.

There is work going on at the property and no taxi or transport to the street which means if you have luggage you are pretty much have to struggle to bring in the luggage to the hotel.

Staff very accommodating and helpful in getting taxis and any questions. There is 1 small elevator but we just walked the stairs every time except for getting luggage in and out. Staff cleaned the room and bathrooms and made beds every day and it’s easy to ask for extra towels if needed. WiFi is included and consistent. Breakfast is a short walk from the hotel but is in a nice restaurant. Coffee is not “drip” coffee- it’s freshly brewed espresso (ex. cappuccino) and you can order specialty toasts in addition to the buffet. Hotel is walkable pretty much everywhere and there’s tons of shopping and dining options in less than a 5 min walk. Sunset in Madrid is not til 10 pm so it’s safe until late. It’s very close to the metro but you don’t even need it - just walk!

The hotel is located on one of the streets off of Puerta del Sol. A little hard to find as the signage is small and not very visible. Check in is at the 2nd floor. This should be noted on the hotel address description. While the hotel room has been beautifully updated with marble floors, etc. It is small but comfortable enough for 2 people. But the most glaring thing of all is that the beds are rather tired and showing a little wear albeit comfy enough. The small refrigerator is handy for people traveling with medicines that require it. Amenities are lacking compared to the other hotels we've stayed at on this category for this trip. They did however gave us a complimentary breakfast which was a nice surprise. Overall I don't really know that the few steps closer to Puerta del Sol made a difference for us (it was approx. $55 plus more). I don't think this cost justifies what you get in the overall scheme.

Alhambra Suites have recently refurbished rooms on the second and third floor of a residential buildings, but the walls seem paper thin and I could hear anything going on in the corridor and in the stairwell in the building. The cleaning was ok, but, as is common in many hotels, nobody seems to have vacuumed under the bed in some time... Breakfast was served in a nearby café and was nice and filling.

I made the reservation for a larger more comfortable room. The picture showed a room with a double bed and a twin bed. When i arrived a had a double bed with little to room around the bed. Very small room. The AC/ heater did not work and when it did it only ran on AC DURING THE WINTER!!. Very cold room. The halls are very dark. the elevator is tiny to say the least. and there is only one. The hotel share the building with a residence.It is just very unorganized and will never go back!!!

No hay teléfono en habitación. El ascensor es uno solo y muy pequeño, el baño es muy pequeño y la puerta no cierra. El lavatorio está en la habitación y lejos del baño. Hay un teléfono en habitación y no funciona. El hotel no da a una pista FM de acceso. Al salir de madrugada hay caminar una cuadra para tomar taxi. No hay un cartel grande que sirva para ubicarlo. El desayuno lo dan en un restaurante que queda a la vuelta del hotel. No lo recomiendo.

This was not a nice hotel. I know I didn’t pay a lot, but still, I would expect a better bathroom & some coffee/tea machine in the room. Changed sheets and bed linen had stains, wall in the bathroom had stains, shower didn’t have a door all the way, so the water gets everywhere by the toilet. The location was convenient, but my local friend called it as a hostel, rather a hotel…and I would agree. Also the view was not great. The hallway sound traveled so loud, no ventilation either. Front people not always present either. People left luggages before/after? Check ins, but I wasn’t confident how safe that was. Breakfast was descent. I wish, though, they change menu a bit every day. People at the restaurant were nice. I will try to upgrade where I will be staying next….

Staff perfect and room was okay but big problem with noise from adjacent rooms which made sleeping very difficult. Noise was from showers, toilet and sometimes talking as we could clearly hear some conversations. This is a shame because location, staff and breakfast were all good

Good location, clean and newly remodeled rooms. However, biggest issue is with the wifi. We should have paid more attention to the prior reviews before booking. The wifi barely works here, as most have mentioned. That is pretty important for us but may nit be for others.

Front desk was excellent. Answered all our questions and gave us tips about locations to go, dining, security, etc. So nice and helpful! Room was small but we didn't spend too much time in it, basically to sleep. Close to trains, metros, buses. Right in the middle of downtown so everything was close. Awesome location!

Room was basic but very clean. Bathroom was modern and functional. Quite expensive for what it is but very well located just 15 seconds off Puerta del Sol. Plenty of restaurants and bars right on the doorstep.Just a 5 minute walk to the Plaza Mayor and 15 - 25 mins from all the top sights.

Alhambra Suites is right down the block from the Sol metro station in central Madrid. Easy access to all the "three" art museums, Royal Plaza, and major train stations. Great cafe and night life within a very short walk of the hotel. A great spot I'll return to over and over.

Hotel is very well located in the historic center of Madrid and less than 100 meters from Plaza del Sol. Room looked renovated with a big and confy bed. Bathroom is not big but shower is good enough with a ceiling shower head. Breakfast is just ok and it has a couple of incoveniences. First, breakfast is in a restaurant around the block and not in the hotel itself which is a problem if there is bad weather. Second, there are not juice, coffee or water dispensers available. You have to ask the waiter for these which is really a drag because you have to wait for them to attend to you. Breakfast cost 15 Euros and we think that for this price these dispensers should be available. This was our last stop in a 7 cities, 5 countries European trip and was the only hotel where we found this situation.

We really enjoyed the location of the hotel. The staff was very friendly and helpful with any questions we had about Madrid. The breakfast was a nice addition to the stay, however after 2 days having the same food it became bit boring. The location of the hotel is very close to restaurants and bars and close to the Plaza When the bars closed you could hear all the partygoer waking down the street being very noisy. Besides the noisy people, which is out of the control of the property, we really enjoyed our stay.

Ottima posizione, a due minuti a piedi da Puerta del Sol. Buona camera anche se con piccola finestra che affacciava…su un tetto (eravamo a pianterreno). Attenzione! La colazione è in un ristorante vicino, da raggiungere uscendo dall’hotel. Buona colazione, ma sarebbe stato meglio saperlo prima, sul sito parlava solo di “colazione a buffet” senza specificare che fosse all’esterno.

Didn’t have much expectations but was amazed with the internal beauty of the high ceiling property, I really felt I’m in Spain. Staff are very courteous and accommodating. Bed and pillow are superb. We love the unlimited breakfast, so healthy and nutritious.
