To start with, my bathroom faucet was a weak stream of water. No pressure at all. I was brushing my teeth in the kitchen sink. I complained to the desk and was told maintenance wasn't available on the weekends....this problem didn't occur overnight. My room was not cleaned. I would have been fine with this had I been told in advance but guests should be warned. I had to park in the hotel parking lot next door. There's not even close to enough parking for the hotel. My room key didn't work and I had it reprogammed and it still didn't work. Last thing I want to do at midnight. Overall, very outdated and dingy.

Large laundry room with several washers and driers. The room was spacious and clean.The passkey entry on the door from the side parking lot didn't work. Supposedly waiting close to a month to be fixed. Overall good for a overnight stay.

Very clean with nice people managing. Hotel needs improvement like an ice machine that works. Hotel staff buy ice and give it to guests, but they do this on their own to make guests happy. Should get more support from IHG.

It's a decent hotel for a one-night stay, if you ignore the lack of breakfast option (they have no kitchen in the hotel), and a lack of pool. They have a pantry room downstairs and a drip coffee machine; when asked for a black tea, a black-colored tea bag was offered. The personnel is 'meh'; during a check in a receptionist was on the phone listening to a prayer and sayin "amen" while checking us in.

Never checked in. Person in front of me at the front desk had videos of roaches in her room walking around in the light. The front desk attendant appeared unfazed and unapologetic and offered to move her next door. I was not about to stay in this hotel

I was extremely disappointed with my stay at this hotel. Everything seemed fine at first, but when it was time to lay down and I turned off the lights, I started seeing multiple roaches crawling around the room — on the walls and near the bed. It was absolutely disgusting and made it impossible to relax or sleep. I immediately felt uncomfortable and couldn’t believe a hotel room would be in such poor condition. For the price I paid, this was completely unacceptable. The management really needs to take care of their pest control and cleanliness before renting out rooms to guests. I would not recommend staying here until this issue is properly addressed.

The room was fine other thank the horrible smell of chemical cleaning smells. Seems maybe guest smoke in the rooms and then they just douse the rooms with some horribly strong and pungent spray to mask it. Was not a good experience at all and I recommend enforcing your non-smoking policy and if you can not, then make the customers provide a credit card, check the rooms afterwards and then charge the hell out of their cards! for breaking the rules.

The motel was off the main streets so there was a lot less traffic. The staff was amazing--so helpful and friendly. They went out of their way to make us feel at home. The housekeepers did a great job keeping the whole place very clean. All in all, it was a great experience and we will be back!

There was alot of items in our room that were broken. The furniture was dirty and the bed wasn't very comfortable. The bathroom needs updating and it was alot of noise outside of our 1st floor room. The price per night was very high considering the look of the place. And, they didn't offer any compimentary breakfast of any sort.

Candlewood is in a nice location of Champaign. Everything is easily accessible either by foot or car. The one thing we did not enjoy was the bed itself. Very uncomfortable, it just seemed like an old mattress and we could feel the springs. The frame was loose and made a lot of noise.

My family and I stayed 1 night and found the staff to be very friendly, and the room spacious and clean. I didn't like that I couldn't draw the heavier curtains over the window; the sheer curtains were all that covered the window. The heavier curtains were decorative and only covered the sides of the window. It let in a lot of light from a street light and the early morning sun, making sleep difficult without a sleep mask. However, the beds and pillows were really comfortable! It was also really easy to get to from the interstate, and was close to restaurants and shopping.

The Candlewood Suites is a newly remodeled hotel. Everything was very new and clean in our room. The only thing I noticed was that the screen was ripped outside our window, but it didn't affect me as we always keep the windows closed. They had a little more painting that was being done in the hotel lobby and carpets replaced in the hallways and it looked like it was the end of the remodeling. I love that all the rooms have a kitchenette with a full-size refrigeration, sink, 2 electric hotplates, microwave, dishwasher, and a full set of dishes to use. The room could have used a table but maybe they haven't finished furnishing the rooms and am not sure. I would give them 5-starts without a doubt.

We had a very pleasant evening and morning at the Candlewood. Exactly what we needed: microwave to heat up dinner and coffee in the morning in the room. Countertops were nice in bathroom and kitchenette, big refrigerator and dishwasher. Better than average some cotton sheets! Staff very friendly and heloful.

Thank you Dereck and Shane and Dorcas you were great friendly. I stayed here for 8 days for a travelling job and I enjoyed everyday being in there the place was clean and more importantly the staffs are nice and friendly which makes all the difference in the world being far away from home so that helps a lot.

We love the location. Close to lots of shopping and great restaurants. We stay here every November for family visits. The staff are always friendly and helpful! Temperature of room is always good. No complaints about anything! Parking good.

Front desk person was CLUELESS! She actually tore up my paperwork in front of me and said she didnt have a room for us even though we had confirmation and had already received payment. It was a nightmare! after a LONG DAY of travel! Leaving the tropical storm area of TN.

Well to say I was not happy with the hotel bc of the cleaning crew knocking when I clearly displayed the do not disturb. Called the front desk and it happened AGAIN! I called the front desk AGAIN and he was not happy with his employees not following instructions. The gentleman at the front was very sorry and apologized for the mistake. He said he called hotels.com and requested a 25% refund. I have yet to see that. But if that does come through. I would feel confident in returning to the hotel. I'm sure they're better places to stay and if you want to afford the price difference then I would stay Marriott.

OBVIOUSLY Expedia doesn't like my review, because they said if I didn't "REVISE" the review they wouldn't post it. So here is the "watered down version. I would have given this property a "Five Star" rating, had it not been for the "Check out"..!! I received a notification from my Credit Card that there was a charge from Expedia for the Hotel stay... Yet when I went down to check out, the Candlewood Suites had also charged my Credit Card for the nights stay. I spoke to "someone" who said she was the Assistant Manager and she said not to worry that she would straighten it out with Expedia and for us to go ahead and proceed with our trip to Florida, which we did. About 3 hours later, that "someone" who said she was the Assistant Manager called and said that Candlewood Suites did not make the mistake and I would have to straighten it out with Expedia. I contacted Expedia and they said it wasn't their fault and the Candlewood Suites should not have charged my Credit Card. They both "abandoned" the situation and I'm am bei charged twice for the same night...!! "SO MUCH FOR CUSTOMER SERVICE"...I blame the "someone" who said she was the Assistant Manager at Candlewood Suites the most, because the "Assistant Manager"promised me that "she" would correct it ..!!

Arrived at the property only to find out that the rooms we reserved months prior were not the rooms we got. We reserved two rooms with 2 queen beds in each room. They changed our rooms to a single king bed without notifying us. We went back to the front desk to notifying them of the situation. The front desk staff member called the manager who insisted she called us - she did not - then went on to make excuses about air conditioners being out in some of the rooms - again not my problem. The manager was very rude. At one point I had to give the phone back to the front desk staff member because the manager was being so disrespectful and rude I wasn’t willing to talk to her. Finally we did find a resolution that wasn’t great but would have to do. If the mistake was the hotels they should not lie and make excuses. They should have apologized immediately and tried to do whatever they could to make it right. Not a happy customer!

We needed a place that accepted dogs and found this to be clean, thoughtfully designed, comfortable, and with a good dog walking area (both on the property and to nearby shopping centers). The kitchenette was helpful, the bed comfortable, and the staff polite.

The motel was off the main streets so there was a lot less traffic. The staff was amazing--so helpful and friendly. They went out of their way to make us feel at home. The housekeepers did a great job keeping the whole place very clean. All in all, it was a great experience and we will be back!

My family and I stayed 1 night and found the staff to be very friendly, and the room spacious and clean. I didn't like that I couldn't draw the heavier curtains over the window; the sheer curtains were all that covered the window. The heavier curtains were decorative and only covered the sides of the window. It let in a lot of light from a street light and the early morning sun, making sleep difficult without a sleep mask. However, the beds and pillows were really comfortable! It was also really easy to get to from the interstate, and was close to restaurants and shopping.

By far, the best stay for us in Champagne. Our room was clean, fully stocked with utensils and plates in the Kitchenette room. At check in, the front desk person offered free hotel points or a free snack and drink for each guest which was nice. Easy drive to university as well. Will select this again. Note: we got confused by two thermosats in our room. Use the one on the wall.

There wasn't anything particularly unique about the property however if you are looking for a quiet place with a comfortable bed at a reasonable cost just off of the freeway, this is your place. This is our new go-to place when traveling in the area.

My mom, husband, and I stayed here one night on our way to visit other family members. The room was clean and somewhat comfortable. The air conditioner did not work correctly, it gave an error message on the thermostat and then shut off. Online, breakfast was advertised. When we arrived, we were told that belreakfast was not available, but a full kitchen was in our room. The staff was friendly, but not very informative. Online, the pet fee was $50. When we checked in, it was only $25 (this was a pleasant surprise, especially since breakfast was not provided). We would be hesitant to stay here again.

Clean, quiet, good bed. The room did not have a suitcase rack, so we had to lay the suitcase on the desk. One thing that made me very unhappy was there was absolutely NO breakfast. Not even a donut. As we travel, we do not like to make stop for breakfast.

We had a very pleasant evening and morning at the Candlewood. Exactly what we needed: microwave to heat up dinner and coffee in the morning in the room. Countertops were nice in bathroom and kitchenette, big refrigerator and dishwasher. Better than average some cotton sheets! Staff very friendly and heloful.

Price gouged because of Dad’s Weekend at U of I. Two nights, total $988.00. Main light by door didn’t work, outlets by bed didn’t work, air didn’t work, water all over the carpet by the windows, no safe, coffee machine downstairs broken, no breakfast of any kind. Had to pack everything back up to change rooms. Staff could not have cared less. What a joke of a hotel.

The hotel overbooked. Despite having made the reservation several days in advanced, there were no rooms available. The woman at the front desk, Brittany, was very sympathetic and did her best to help us. Disappointed in the hotel for overbooking and with Hotels.com for the hoops we had to jump through to get the situation rectified.
