The room was clean and smelled fresh, which I really appreciated. I also liked that they provided makeup wipes—a thoughtful touch. The only suggestion I have is to consider adding more insulation for better soundproofing. You can hear other guests leaving their rooms quite loudly, and street noise like speeding cars or honking is noticeable too. That might just be me, though, as I’m a very light sleeper. Parking was a big plus—they have on-site parking with in-and-out privileges at no extra cost. We paid $49.92 for it and were even allowed to park earlier than the 4:00 PM check-in time without being charged extra. Customer service was great as well. Everyone we interacted with, both over the phone and at the front desk, was friendly and accommodating. Overall, we were very pleased with the value we got for the price we paid. We would definitely book here again in the future!

Clean rooms! The walls are really thin. You can hear the TV next door very easily. After I made the reservation I received an email that parking would be 40.00, go to check in and she said it was going to be 50.00. We got it all figured out, the check in lady was VERY nice. Heads up on the parking fee.

My wife and I had to make an emergency trip to Chicago. This motel was the most reasonably priced in the area we needed to be. The staff was pleasant. The room was clean. The bed was good enough. All in all it was a good experience. The only negative is that they charge $50 per night for parking.

Everything was fine, and I enjoyed my stay although I thought $50.00 for overnight parking was a bit steep. The room was fine but lacked any way to adjust the heating and cooling. All hotels now seem to have adopted these terrible, non-functional room coffee makers.

Pros: great location- easy to get to. Parking - though there is a $39 charge, relatively quiet - you’re in a motel in the middle of a huge city, Schneider Deli - the best deli in Chicago on the other side of the motel’s office. Fantastic breakfast! Cons: the price of parking. A great option to stay in Chicago if you have a car.

Good stay. If your wanting parking right at hotel come early. It is $29 us, but it is really convenient. Within walking distance to everywhere downtown. Just a warning the deposit you pay takes about a day and half to refund back to you.

Rooms were very clean and updated. You can always tell the age of the room, the caulking in the bathroom will be cracked and colored. This room had none of that. It is a bit noisy but that wouldnt keep me from staying here again. Very convient location for touristy stuff.

I’m calling the Ohio House Motel the hidden gem of Chicago! Excellent location to walk to many of the tourist attractions. The room was incredibly clean, beds comfortable and the best hotel shower I’ve experienced. The front staff were incredible and so friendly. I will return the next time I’m i. Chicago.

The area around the hotel is very dirty and noisy, as they are on a main thoroughfare. The hotel is obviously aware of this though, as the provide ear plugs in your room! The parking lot was well maintained though, and clean compared to the main road. The room itself was very neat and clean. Smelled fresh and welcoming.

It was a good stay. The only thing that was bothersome was the echoing of doors being opened and closed in the hallway. Also the water pressure was non existent. Besides those two things the location is wonderful, the room was clean and remodeled.

Very cute and extremely conveniently located classic motel. Loved: Location, service, room cleanliness Disliked: Shower took forever just to get luke-warm, curtains don't completely cover the windows so it's very bright in the room as soon as the sun comes up. The suite is right above a deli that has a very loud door that you hear every single time it closes. The suite can only be accessed by going through the very narrow check in/out area. Things not mentioned in this listing: There is a $40 a night parking fee. There is a $125 deposit fee.

Booked the Ohio House because it was an affordable place right in the middle of River North. The reviews I read seemed favorable and the pictures made it look cool and kitschy. Ultimately, it was all of those things. Of course, it’s still an older motel in River North which means noise. Noise from the street, noise from the alley, noise from the other rooms. You get an idea that it’ll be noisy when you find earplugs in the room. Overall, though, the room was clean and had been recently remodeled, the bed was comfortable and, location-wise, it was perfect for the few days we were in Chicago. I would stay at the Ohio House again in the future, and if you can tolerate some noise: you should too.

This place was great, but I feel like the housekeeping staff started checking on rooms way too early. They started knocking on doors around 9am. I know some people are up by then, but I sure wasn’t and was really looking forward to another hour of sleep. By the time they finished knocking/cleaning, it was time for me to get up and checkout. Aside from that, the stay was great. Awesome location, nice people, clean and had everything I needed.

Clean room with comfortable bed. Fresh and bright bathroom, well beyond expectations. Easy parking in the city. Fun, walkable neighborhood with great food (and the biggest McDonalds I've ever seen just across the street). But the best part of staying at the Ohio House Motel is the fantastic staff. Every person I interacted with was friendly, kind, and incredibly helpful. I had more questions and requests than I usually bother hotel staff with, but each person I spoke with made time for me, smiled, went out of their way to make me feel comfortable and welcome. Thank you!!!

Location, cleanliness and attitude of the front desk clerk were all great. But, we were not given a key card to access our rooms, as their “system was down.” Kind of a critical feature. Therefore, to get in and out, we would have to notify the front desk clerk to let us in. No extra accommodations were made to make up for this.

Motel in downtown Chicago with free parking. Nicely located-can walk to many places, and there is good dining in area, both high-end and affordable. A Target is a block away. The room was not large but very clean, and well appointed. The breakfast that comes with the room is excellent (easily with $10).

So yes it’s noisy, it’s in Chicago and close to the center that’s the trade. It’s was very clean and safe, the parking is under watch and with only 15 minutes of walk to the very center of Chicago it’s the perfect place to stay for a trip there. There is no breakfast in the motel itself but enough diner around to get it.

Overall, I was happy and would stay here again. The location was great- within walking distance to the Riverwalk, Blue Chicago, Al's Italian beef, etc. The staff was very friendly and helpful. Our refrigerator wasn't working properly and they brought us another one right away. The parking was half the cost of any other hotel I looked at. I really liked Schneider's deli. My only complaint is the lack of vanity space in the bathroom. We struggled to fit 2 normal size toiletry cases in it. And there was no hook on the back of the bathroom door to use if we even had a hanging toiletry case. What I think others might think of as negatives (no lobby, no breakfast, quite basic room (for the price) with only one chair), the location made up for, which I knew when I reserved the room.
