We enjoyed our stay in this centrally located hotel. We didn't have a car and we could walk to Cathedral Square, New Regent Street, Te Pae Convention Centre, Hagley Park, restaurants, etc. Our room was clean, spacious, and well--equipped. The hotel has a gym and small cafe. Highly recommend!

The room was spacious and standard, but there was an unpleasant damp smell. Not all rooms are equipped with cutlery, and basic amenities were missing—there wasn’t even a bin liner. The staff were unhelpful, inattentive, and not particularly friendly. We encountered issues with the ‘reserved’ parking—several nights it was occupied, and we were simply told, "It happens!" Parking costs $20 per stay, and though the staff offered us a spot in the open staff parking, their attitude was unwelcoming, which completely negated the point of having reserved parking. The staff waived one nights parking however felt as we had to argue this through. Overall, the poor service ruined our stay. I wouldn't recommend this place.

I stayed at this property twice during my 2 week vacation to Christchurch and the South Island. Convenient location to downtown as well as rental car depots close by. Modern, comfortable and quiet rooms made for great rest. Fitness room on basement floor though small, has everything you need. Cafe attached but did not visit. Check in staff were generally helpful but not overly friendly or warm. Overall I would definitely make this my accommodation of choice for future visits.

Excellent room in most respects, very clean. I would have given 5 stars had it been serviced during our stay, and had we stayed longer I'd have asked for a second hand towel. Also the hotel whilst very good lacks a proper restaurant. Maybe that's a work in progress?

The room was clean but it would be nice to have the room serviced more often automatically - 3 days is a bit long to wait. It was also pretty noisy at night with people coming in and out and speaking pretty loudly at all hours which is surprising considering the hotel is pretty strict with rules in general. The bed was also pretty uncomfortable.

Establishment did not disclose that rooms are made “every 3 days”, when checking in. I did speak to the front desk AND housekeeping for them to make my room, both said yes but when we retuned to the room that evening, it was not made. Very disappointing.

The lady who checked me in wasn’t overly helpful on what was open or available on the long weekend. The room was loud and other people’s doors would be heard regularly. The bed and pillows were not great. I did find the location ok, but I had expected more overall for the price and ratings.

While washing machine was broken, the staff went well beyond to help and extended my checkout time to allow me to use another room to finish. Great staff. Things happen no big deal it’s how it’s handled that counts and they were awesome. Thank you

In general, this is a great hotel, and staff is very friendly. Only issue was on Dec 24 during the check out. We waited there since 6:42am, but the front desk opens at 7am. We waited 17 min until 7:05am, still no one shown up. We need to drive long way to Picton to catch the ferry to Wellington, which closes at 1:15pm for last check in. So, we just dropped the room keys to the box and left per recommendation of the hotel cafe staff.

Very convenient to meeting at Christchurch Town Hall. Close to River, walkable, but a bit of a dead neighbourhood in the evening. Rooms nicely presented, mini-fridge, washer, dryer, well-lit, comfortable bed and linens. Would stay again.

Brand new property! Really nice and large room, everything was basically brand new. I booked this location based on it's proximity to the rental car office, and I was worried that it would be far from everything. NOPE! It was 2 blocks from Cathedral Square, like 1 1/2 block from the park, 2 blocks from tons of restaurants, etc. No worries on location at all! We had the buffett breakfast one day and it was really good too. (we ate at the Apron Cafe on the other day for breakfast and that was good too) Highly recommend!

The room (including bathroom/kitchenette) and bed are tidy. The bed was comfortable with no major spring sagging issue and the sheets were very clean. Easy walking distance to shops and Hagley Park. I did not try out the dining options as I dined out, but the cafe at the lobby appeared fully stocked. I would use the accommodations at Wyndam Garden again.
