Getting brand new carpet, which is great. Construction didn't bother my stay. Will stay again

Stayed 14 nights

This hotel has unfortunately gone downhill and is nowhere near as nice as it once was. The only thing that still feels "grand" is the nightly rate. The rooms constantly felt damp and musty, and both rooms we stayed in had visible mold around the A/C vents. The carpets throughout the hotel were dirty and long overdue for replacement. The kitchenette was functional, but be aware you're only provided one pan if you plan to cook meals. Housekeeping was inconsistent…some days were fine, others were completely missed. The bright spot of our stay was the front desk staff. They worked incredibly hard, were always friendly, and provided excellent customer service. Having washers and dryers on-site was convenient. Breakfast was mediocre at best. During our two-week stay, it was essentially the same every morning: some variation of eggs with bacon or sausage, along with bagels, English muffins, toast, pastries, cereal, waffles, juice, and coffee. Fresh fruit was almost nonexistent. The one day bananas were available, they were so overripe they were better suited for banana bread. The safety doors were never locked at night so safety felt like a concern late night. For the price, this hotel simply doesn't deliver the value it once did. Next time, we'd rather stay in Owatonna and make the drive into town. Even with the extra gas and mileage, we'd end up in a cleaner hotel with better rates and a better breakfast. Unfortunately, it’s highly unlikely that we will be returning.

I have stayed here many times in the last seceral years. I never had any issues. The hotel was over run with about 20-30 pre-teen boys and their fathers there for sporting events. There was lots of noise, running up and down the halls on all floors, banging on doors, as well as very rude and disrespectful behavior by both the dads and the kids. These kids stayed up until after midnight. After multiple complaints to staff and one of the managers, I was ready to leave. Instead of taking control of this situation, the police came and told me that the hotel wanted me gone. I am 66 and that was a first for me. Never again!!!
