Stopped here for the night on our way from Dublin to Killarney. Our room was modestly sized, but very well appointed and comfortable. Had a great dinner at the Silken Thomas restaurant at the hotel. Even though we didn't have recommendations, they asked if we'd like dinner, then they found us a table at 7:00 pm. Worked perfectly. The village is small, but cute, with some stores within walking distance to purchase essentials.

I have never experienced such an excellent hotel. It was impossible to find a fault. The Staff were Friendly and Helpful. The Room was Amazing and whoever cleans and prepares them are Six Star. The Bar was Enjoyable and Food in the Restaurant again Excellent. Definitely Worth a Revisit. Last but not Least Great Value.

Silken Thomas is very unique. The building with the rooms is behind the restaurant and bar, separated by a parking lot. The staff at check-in were so genuine. The restaurant was amazing and fairly priced. Our waitress was so helpful in finding things to do around the area. Our final night in Ireland we went to the hotel bar with our teenaged boys for local music. 3 men played instruments and sang Irish and other popular songs. A sweet older local took a liking to our 17-year-old and convinced him and the band to let him sing Garth Brooks' "The Dance" with them. He was terrified... but it ended up being one of the most magical moments of our entire trip. Our room had a king-sized bed, with two additional twins, and a bathroom. The ceiling was probably 20 feet high which made it feel very spacious. The shower/tub either had a leak or the partition was designed poorly and lots of water would get on the floor during showers. I reported this to housekeeping. Our room was immediately inside the main entrance on the right. The only MAJOR issue with our room was the noise from the front door. The door would close very slowly about halfway, and then SLAM shut. With everybody coming and going early and late, this was a MAJOR issue. This kept us up late and woke us up early. This was also reported to housekeeping and should be fixed immediately before anybody else has to be subjected to that dang door. When that front door is fixed, I'll stay there again in a heartbeat!

Lovely place with a spacious room - the Lady Pamela Suite. Dinner in the lounge was delicious and plentiful. Host & staff were all very friendly. Only one criticism - the lighting in our suite was very dark - otherwise perfect 🤘

Welcome was warm and friendly. Had a lovely Irish meal at the pub before it closed on Sunday night. Beautiful room and new bathroom. Didn’t like the stairs for luggage. The room got warm and no fan worked. It did get noisy after misowith drunks and the traffic light noise.

Great location. Lovely welcome on arrival. Shown immediately to our room. Room was quite compact but had everything we needed. One bedside table had been removed which wasn’t ideal. Hot tap only had cold water, cold tap had hot water !!

I just love staying in the Silken Thomas, it has evertything and more than would be expected for the price range ! From checking in to checking out its top class. Special mention of Beata the Accommodation Manager, she makes everyone so well and keep such high standards, she is a wonderful asset to the Silken Thomas. I love staying there and often use it as a base, even for Dublin. I look forward to returning. The range of food is always great with very fast service.

Had a lovely stay for 2 nights. We were traveling on motorbikes and the day we travelled there it rained all day and we were pretty wet, we arived pretty early but they rushed through getting our room ready for us. Couldn't have done any more for us 👍

Cannot recommend highly enough. Firstly, big thank you to Sean & all the staff, so welcoming & helpful. Food & drinks so enjoyable & excellent value for money. Decor & surroundings made this a luxurious & rejuvenating trip for myself & my husband . Met many locals & residents staying from different parts of the world. Will return before Christmas hopefully.

The staff was wonderful and went out of their way for us. The room was a delight (Postmasters house) and the food was delicious. The town was very walkable and had several unique things to see (Cathedral, St Brigids Well). Great experience all around!

This is located in Kildare town and not close to Dublin. public transportation to this from here is not reliable either. It takes more than an hour to reach Dublin. I would not recommend this to anyone who wants to enjoy the city without wasting so much time commuting.

Excellent stay again at the Silken Thomas. Lovely place, room and area. Great shopping at Kildare Village Retail Outlet and good local sights to see. Used train into Dublin which was easy to get tickets and journey was good.

Our stay on Silken Thomas was awesome! The room was cozy and clean! The bed and pillow were comfortable. The staff was friendly and helpful. They provided a fan for the room because it was really hot that day and it made a huge difference. We also had dinner at the restaurant and the food was delicious! I would definitely recommend this place for staying and/or having a meal.

Room was nice. There was no front desk so to speak. Check-in happened at the restaurant host desk. So was only open when the restaurant was open. Breakfast was only available starting at 9am which was too late for us both days we were there. Would have liked an earlier start time.
