Hampton Inn & Suites Thousand Oaks, CA

Clean, friendly staff, and lived they had peloton bike.

Staff was helpful, gym was great and provided privacy. Room was clean and comfortable.

Did not like the unexpected daily parking fee. No lot or visible extra security. Just the usual on site parking that was free on our previous stays. Looks like we need to find another place to stay cause this was outrageous. Main elevator also out of service both on Saturday and Sunday.

The only downside is you have to pay to park.

I have to pay for parking.

Parking was supposed to be $10 and they increased it to $20 with no warning. Room was supposed to be cleaned every other day. That was changed to you have to call. This hotel has new owners and have cut a lot of corners. Also I was on the 101 side of the hotel. Loudest ever. Don’t stay here. Hopefully this doesn’t happen to other Hampton Inns.

The room was big but a little echoey. The breakfast was good in my hotel was quiet. You did have to pay for parking, however.

Nice staff. Everything is convenient and easy to access. Laundry, gym open 24 hours. Cleaning staff are friendly and respectful

The smell and trash surrounding the parking and entrance was smelly and tacky. There were also smells in the rooms and down the hallways smelled like old urine. Staff was nice, but we won't be going again

The room was very clean. Was caught off guard when I came into my room and saw the greeting on the tv. Very nice touch. The staff was very professional, as well as friendly.

The cleaning job wasn’t too good, there were crumbs in the corner of bathroom. The shampoo was run out and had to request in the middle of shower. The breakfast are very basic.

The air conditioner was leaking water. The carpet was soaked My suitcase and clothes were all drenched wet and I didn’t get it compensated for the issue. Terrible visit.

Hotel charges $20/day to park, when I checked in my room was not cleaned (there was trash in the trash can, the beds were not made and the bathroom was dirty) the hotel room was extremely dusty. The staff was nice but did nothing to compensate for my room not being cleaned. I had to ask for my parking to be comped and was met with hesitancy.

Super clean and modern. Nice service at front desk and throughout hotel. Nice amenities like microwave and fridge. That's very helpful and I will remember for next time.

Ants in the main bedroom and even more in the bathroom. Moved to another room and the toilet wouldn’t flush.

The hotel is clean but a little old it’s next to the freeway so you can hear that noise. Staff was fine but I didn’t really interact with them that much did their job but nothing above and beyond. The included breakfast is a nice touch

I don't understand why the beds are so elevated and the toilets are so low. The breakfast was wonderful, many options. The staff was quick to refill the buffet. Dining area was large and comfortable.

The stay was ok. The property was clean, safe and staff was friendly. My only complaint is that the air conditioner was very loud. The noise was so loud that it constantly woke us up during the night.

The air conditioning unit was like having a semi truck in your room! So Loud! It was 100 degrees outside and not an option to just turn it off! Checked in after dinner for a quiet night! Not so much!!

What a bust. Avoid this place. Absolutely not worth the money (unless of course you prefer to listen to your neighbors whisper to one another and have sharp staples protrude from the carpet and stab your feet). No exaggeration, honest truth.

The staff at the front desk were very friendly and helpful. The rooms were clean and nice.

They had my reservations wrong and told me I had arrived a day early. I made my air, car and hotel reservations together. I had to show them a screenshot of my reservations to prove I was there on the correct day and stand at the front desk for an hour while figured out their mistake…finally they found their mistake and gave me my room keys.

David at the desk was outstanding. The ladies who managed the breakfast were excellent. Housekeepers extremely nice and thoughtful.

The property is updated and in good condition. Rooms were clean and the facilities were well maintained. Easy to reach off the freeway and close to coffee, food and shopping (walking distance). Staff were friendly and breakfast was great.

Good place to spend night, but first two rooms assigned on a chilly night had had non functional heating. Super friendly employee(Bridget) upgraded us to a suite with a functional heater.

Staff is professional and very helpful

We checked in late on Christmas Day and the staff were completely NOT accommodating that I made the reservation in my Dad’s nickname. They would not let two elderly people who had recently been in a car accident and were exhausted access their room until I contacted Expedia for a first name change. It was very clear that it was the same person, same Last name and middle name was on his ID. Completely ridiculous rule. It was a 15 min wait for Expedia help on the phone, of course it was a holiday. Luckily the virtual assistant fixed it quickly. Very disappointed in the hotel Policies and staff. Won’t stay here again.

After extending my stay for several nights one night at a time and paying for each night with the front desk confirming, they told me I owed for the extra nights when extending for one more night. I explained that I already paid and showed them my credit card activity. They wouldnt budge and called me after I went to work and confirmed that they show I owed for the added nights. The front desk person kept saying she understood what I was saying about already paying and the points I was making and my frustration, but she didnt understand. I went to the property to gather my things and to cancel the final night. They then called me while I was at lunch and apologized and said I was correct and didnt owe for any nights as they saw their mistake etc. I asked to be compensated, perhaps to come back for a free night as i hadnt booked elsewhere and all they gave me was 2 nights of free parking. I have never been disrespected like this from a hotel. They were completely in the wrong and wouldnt budge even with clear evidence that I was in the right and was paid up on my stay. This left a bad taste in my mouth and I now have no desire to patronize this unscrupulous and unforgiving establishment. This is one of my favorite local hotels that has always been a reasonable priced and friendly place and now I have to cross them off my list. I am very disappointed and offended.

A bit hard to find. It’s behind WalMart on Ventu Park road. It needs a sign to direct you to front of hotel. All else great.

Close to everything and easily accessible to highway 101

Hard to find hotel in a mall near Walmart

I booked a room here, based on all the great reviews. The ONE thing that was not seen in reviews was the AREA in which the hotel was located. The area in which the hotel was, had multiple signs on road that stated DO NOT LEAVE VALUABLES IN CAR. The parking was only on the street; Although, the front desk told me they had vallet. GRAFFITI was everywhere. I DID NOT and DO NOT suggest ANYONE stay at this hotel. I was afraid for myself (a grandmother) and grandson.

Tucked back in a quiet corner of a small shopping center. Easy walk to WalMart for groceries. Excellent staff!

Very easy to access on and off the freeway but yet it was quiet and the room was very nice

Comfortable bed and pillows. Nice size room. Adequate towels and toiletries. Breakfast wasn’t the best. The sausages were very overcooked and oatmeal was super watery. Coffee weak. Also no pen and paper pad in the room.

I stayed at the Hilton for three days and was disappointed with the experience. Our towels were not changed, the room wasn’t vacuumed, and the bathroom wasn’t cleaned. It seemed like the place was being operated on a shoe-string budget. The breakfast buffet was okay, but the juices were diluted with water. For the price I paid, I expected much better quality and service. I believe I could have found a better hotel for the same cost.

We arrived at the hotel in the evening. Quickly changed clothes and in 15-20 minutes we left the hotel for the event for which we came. Late in the night, after the event, when we returned to the hotel, we discovered that the water in the sink and toilet backing up. We immediately notified the receptionist and soon received the key to the new room. The guy at the front desk was very nice, polite and professional. Breakfast was terrible (trust me this is a very polite description). Even hard-boiled eggs, a dish that seems impossible to mess up, tasted and felt like they were made of rubber. Breakfast menu offer two different type of juices. Both of them taste like water with plenty of chemical additives for taste and color and sugar to sweeten the poison.

This was a very nice clean and quiet stay. The breakfast was excellent.

Everything was good. The desk clerk gave me a room away from the freeway in order to secure a quieter stay. Very appreciated. I really like that breakfast is included at Hampton Inns. Quite a complete breakfast with several choices.
