Stayed 2 nights

Disappointing. We knew we were overpaying for the brand, the location and the indoor pool. However, because it is the MO, the expectations are always high. We took 2 rooms, both very small and unpractical. The Urquiola design misses the spot. All the "details" are unfinished or not fully developed, and poorly executed. Most of the design decisions fall short. Zig-zag walls? Really? The closet doors never closed properly for that reason. Glass doors in bathrooms are never a good idea, and if they don't close fully, even worse. Bathroom floor material selection is horrible. Very difficult texture to clean/wash and impossible to maintain. All stained and dirty. Ceiling heights are too low. Bedrooms did not look clean. Wallpaper peeling off. Very uncomfortable bed. For the price you pay, they show provide clouds for you to sleep on. The breakfast service is spotty and incredibly slow. They tend to forget when you ask for a glass of Cava (happened 2 days in a row), and they take forever to bring you a simple coffee. The pool quarters are depressing and claustrophobic. We let the front desk manager know that we were not happy about our stay based on all the issues we had and we were promised a partial reimbursement, which of course never occurred. The building is a noble, beautiful structure, but what they did with it at the entrance is unimpressive. The lobby with its very low mirror ceiling after the insipid entry ramp feels more like a torture room than an inviting luxury space.
