Villa Gaudium

Our room had a gorgeous view of the water and was fairly spacious however the hotel itself is impossible to find using Google Maps or GPS. A staff person had to meet us on the main road and lead us to it then check us in. Because we were there in the off-season, no staff were actually on the premises. Once we were settled, we had to have a staff person return because there was a leak in the bathroom sink plumbing which resulted in a sizable puddle of water on the floor. When a young man came, he put a couple of bath mats over the puddles to absorb the water and said he’d fix it the next day (after we left). In the morning we had to use a couple towels to suck up more water. The toilet is in the corner of the bathroom, so close to the shower and the bidet that you have to sit sideways. The heater did not get the room warm enough and the bed had only a top sheet and a thin blanket that was only 2/3 the size of the bed. If you pulled it up to your shoulder, your feet weren’t covered. There were no extra blankets so we were quite cold all night. But the view was stunning and the room rate was low so I guess you get what you pay for (or don’t get what you don’t pay for).

Beautiful views

A nice Vila (little difficult to find and limited parking) but great views. We stayed for one night to break trip to southern Albania. A market was within 5 minutes walking and another 3 minutes and you’re at the bay. Wish we could have spent more time in this beautiful city (Vlorë)

Beskrivningen av hotellet stämde tyvärr ej. Fanns ingen pool o rummet med ”panoramic view - seaview” hade ett buskage framför den smala ballkongen med två gamla pinnstolar. Tittade man till vänster skymtade man havet. I övrigt är både hotell o rum slitet o i behov av renovering o uppfräschning. I badrummet tex var duschdraperiet alldeles fläckigt o trasigt samt för kort. Vi var lättade när vi åkte därifrån.

Dejligt med mulighed for morgenmad, men ville være dejligt, at kunne have lidt at vælge i mellem og ikke en fast tallerken. Der var ingen pool på hotellet, som der ellers stod der var… så man skulle til nabo hotellet og det koster 4000 LEK pr dag for 4 personer. Hotellet og værelserne er meget meget slidte. Der lugtede på værelserne og der var tegn på skimmelsvamp, ledninger der hang ud fra vægen, Det var virkelig svært at komme i kontakt med hotellet inden ankomst. Personalet var yderst hjælpsomme under hele opholdet.
