Beautiful older hotel. Excellent staff. The restaurant has great food and a relaxing atmosphere overlooking the river. Walls are pretty thin as you can hear conversations in the halls and adjacent rooms.

Our three-night stay was truly rewarding ...with a well appointed and spacious room ( 101 ) , a warm and efficient service from all members of the team and the food was so good ( Including breakfast ) that we had our three dinners at the hotel with the extraa benefit of being taken care by Joey who is really the perfect host and the best possible ambassador for the Lakeside Hotel. Quality / Price ratio really good....We'll defnitely be back.

The staff were warm and welcoming, and the property itself is beautiful. It's set on lovely, quiet grounds with a fantastic view of the River Shannon from our room. The bed was very comfortable, and we appreciated the peace and quiet after a long travel day. The nearby town is charming and just a short walk away, which made for a nice evening stroll. The hotel was quite busy due to the bank holiday, but it still felt relaxed and well managed overall. Dinner was enjoyable, though our table could have been a bit tidier, with a few crumbs on top and bits underneath. That said, breakfast the next morning made up for it. The manager went out of his way to accommodate us even though we arrived late. He was a real standout — friendly, efficient, and helpful. One small note: the Guinness pouring could use a little fine tuning. Only one of the three we ordered was poured properly, but it didn’t take away from the overall experience. The room was clean. But for example in my room the carpet had big stains. Which just isn't very nice to see. Staff were all great when my key card stopped working twice. The bar and breakfast was nice. I checked in a couple hours early as the room was ready but then had someone walk into my room as I was unpacking. She apologised and quickly left. Then half an hour later another staff member wanted to come in but this time he knocked just in case there was someone in there. When I answered the door he said oh you're already checked in okay thank you. I had the do not disturb sign hanging on door from them on. It's nothing amazing but probably the best accomodation you will get in this town. The food was quite tasty actually so that was nice in a town that didn't have too many options.

The lakeside rooms are stunning, very luxurious and very clean. Very short walk from the hotel. All staff were very helpful and welcoming. Breakfast was very good. You can walk to the two small towns for a coffee or food. Did see much else. Nice small marina (Killaloe) around the corner too.

The rooms at the back of the hotel suffer from Fan noise from the kitchens until around 10pm I was right above it and could also smell food being cooked which wasn’t pleasant. The water pressure isn’t good on the shower. Service in the bar and restaurant is great! And the food and views are lovely.

Lovely older hotel with lots of charm. We booked our room with breakfast which was very nice. The only downside was the pillows needed switching out, they were flat and hard. Otherwise everything was lovely. We had the king bed suite overlooking the water.

Amazing stay at The Lakeside, kind receptionist upgraded us to to a beautiful Waterfront room due to anniversary. Friendly and professional staff , lovely breakfast and the whole feel of the hotel was relaxed and inviting , would highly recommend !

The lakeside rooms are stunning, very luxurious and very clean. Very short walk from the hotel. All staff were very helpful and welcoming. Breakfast was very good. You can walk to the two small towns for a coffee or food. Did see much else. Nice small marina (Killaloe) around the corner too.

A lovely spot overlooking the river. Our room was spacious with a gorgeous bathtub and a very comfortable bed. We walked into town and had a very good dinner at the hotel. The customer service at the front desk was excellent. We would gladly return!

The room was clean. But for example in my room the carpet had big stains. Which just isn't very nice to see. Staff were all great when my key card stopped working twice. The bar and breakfast was nice. I checked in a couple hours early as the room was ready but then had someone walk into my room as I was unpacking. She apologised and quickly left. Then half an hour later another staff member wanted to come in but this time he knocked just in case there was someone in there. When I answered the door he said oh you're already checked in okay thank you. I had the do not disturb sign hanging on door from them on. It's nothing amazing but probably the best accomodation you will get in this town. The food was quite tasty actually so that was nice in a town that didn't have too many options.

Beautiful older hotel. Excellent staff. The restaurant has great food and a relaxing atmosphere overlooking the river. Walls are pretty thin as you can hear conversations in the halls and adjacent rooms.
