Very convenient place to stay. You are at walking distance of restaurants and stores. And movie theater. There is a EV charger in the parking for your Electric vehicle. That was perfect. Room was ok but old style. Bathroom was a bit strange. But bed was quite comfortable.

Old historic hotel that's more like a B&B. Rooms are dated but clean. Can be noisy because it's on the main road but this also means it's close to all the local shops and cafes. Two bedroom suite setup is a bit odd with a sink in each room and then just a toilet between the two rooms. Lots of stairs so pack light. Parking is included and located behind the hotel, look for the signs for customer parking.

Staff was very nice. The parking was limited but doable. Lots of stairs, no elevator, but it was a very nice and pretty building. The staircase was kept tidy and clean. Had enough soaps for the night. Great breakfast and overall, it was a nice cozy little stay for the night. Thank you, staff members

Great location, right in the middle of town on Main Street. Walking distance to almost everything in Littleton; a short drive for the rest. Continental breakfast. Great central location for hiking access and the activities of northern New Hampshire and Vermont. Wifi is decent, with hiccups from time to time. Negatives are you need to be there by 8pm to check in, which if you're coming from out of state can be a pain; there are no cable or broadcast TV channels on the in-room TV sets so if you want to watch anything other than streaming channels (none of them streaming versions of broadcast TV or cable networks) you will be out of luck. No local news, sports, weather, no national sports leagues or games. If you need to know the weather before your hike, you'll have to listen to the radio.

The rooms are small but have everything you need - nice mattress, clean, teeny fridge, enough outlets, and a coffee maker. The price is great. This is a historic building - it dates from the 1840s and it has been minimally modernized. There is no elevator (one accessible room on the main floor). The corridors in the main building are super wide - in those days the wardrobes were in the all, for convenient access by your servants. The rooms aren't very large, partially because a bathroom was cut out into all of them. The AC is a window unit. Be aware that the front desk closes at 10pm and plan accordingly. The Ammonoosuc river is right out the back, with a lovely river walk. There are restaurants nearby and some interesting shops. My only gripe is that the lights for the parking lot are super high and super bright and the light leaks into the back rooms even with the shades closed. Avoid those rooms if you are light sensitive. For some reason in the early days parking lots were lit with one super bright fixture really high, rather than many lower, less bright and more effective lights. I've had this problem in other older hotels.

We had a wonderful two-night stay! The staff was super friendly and very helpful. Parking is a bit limited (about 10 parking spaces in total), but the hotel offers parking permits for the street if their lot is full. The hotel is very old and has its quirks, so keep that in mind during your stay. Will definitely return!

Very cool historical hotel. Room was clean and staff was friendly. Our room was on the fourth floor, which was fine for us but with no elevator it can be rough for someone with a lot of luggage. Overall I would definitely recommend.

It’s what you would expect for an older building. Tight quarters, small bathrooms. Breakfast but not a hot one. The hotel is a great location within walking distance of a lot of restaurants and shops. Parking is a little tricky as it took us multiple loops around the area to find a parking space on several occasions.

This hotel is a great value for the money. Bed was comfortable and sheets were clean. It’s an old place that could use updating but I expected that given the age of the place. However, that’s where the good things end. Our room was dirty. Most things in the room were dusty and the shower had soap scum and a Bobbi pin in the drain.

They offered us a different room because the one we had originally booked was extremely dirty. There was an excessive amount of dust on every surface, creating a thick white coating, the carpet hadn't been vacuumed (yes, the room an old carpeted floor), the bathroom sink was covered in scum, and the room itself was old and dingy. The room they offered us was supposed to be better, as it had been newly renovated with new floors, paint, and furniture. However, it seemed like the housekeeping staff didn't think dusting and wiping surfaces was a part of their job. There was still a lot of dust everywhere, and I had to wipe the surfaces myself with a washcloth in order for us to put anything on the furniture. I was so grossed out when I found a dirty towel hanging in the closet and a water bottle cap near the bathroom toilet that. It was so disgusting that I felt compelled to leave a review, even though I rarely do so especially negative one. I don't want anyone else to waste their hard-earned money on a filthy property like this.

The location is great. The hotel is a mess. The AC filter hasn't been cleaned in years, same for the bathroom exhaust fan. The bathroom is a converted closet (and there is no closet). The bathroom light illuminates the entire room. All in all if you expect nothing you are fine else you are going to be disappointed.

We read the reviews and were expecting an old, quirky building. What we weren’t expecting was lack of upkeep to make the stay acceptable. Our room was at the top of the staircase so we heard everything from discussions at the front desk to every person who came upstairs. The door was not only paper thin but it also wasn’t installed properly so there was a gap at the top. The other issue was that the room was freezing. We looked for a thermostat and found a space heater in the closet. I must’ve missed that in the room amenities but I expect a room with actual heat. The space heater ran for hours before our room starts warming up. We had to shut the bathroom door because that seemed to be where the cold was coming from. The blinds were moving from the wind outside. And finally, the shower is very broken. The diverter doesn’t fully work so more water comes out of the tub faucet than the shower head. I barely got all the soap off. The good - The bed was quite comfortable. And the room was very clean.

We had an awful expereince and the hotel's reaction was underwhelming. Our bedding was used and dirty. After finding staff to complain to, I was only given excuses and a new set of sheets to make the bed myself. Reading my irriattaion, the staff memeber eventually helped me make the bed. I was told multiple times that there was a large turnover and house cleaning staff quit that day, but there is NO excuse for dirty sheets. Make me wait to check in until you can properly clean the rooms if you have to. I wrote to the hotel privatley before my review and finally recieved an apology... followed by more excuses. The location of the hotel is nice, but I cannot get over dirty rooms and excuses trying to justify it!

It's a historic property that hasn't been well maintained at all. The outside paint to the inside wallpaper in our room was peeling or torn. The bed was comfortable and clean, but the room was extremely loud, smelled musty, and the floor unit AC was loud even on low. Amenities non-existent. It definitely wasnt worth the price they are charging. Cool building, heavily unkept. The continental breakfast was extremely limited. Not worth the historic stay experience. Littleton is really a nice town to visit however.

The building is old. We had a small room with a queen bed and it was enough for 2. The walls are very thin (we could hear conversations from next door). The shower was inconsistent with water pressure and hot/cold. The light in the parking lot shone into our room all night and the thin curtains did not do much to block it out. For the cost of the room, I couldve done better.

If a(n) historic property (built 1850) is desired, Thayers Inn might be your place. Accommodations are "quaint" with several attempts to upgrade to more current standards, such as offering A/C, electrical outlets, etc. We were in a deluxe room which had good bedding and a portable heating unit. For summer conditions, a dehumidifier and ac unit was in the room. Everything was functional, the location excellent and staff friendly. Other rooms had a bit less at the comfort level. You are located on main street, which did quiet after 10 pm, but wakes up about 7 am, at least during the week.

It’s a neat place but the walls are really thin. You can hear everyone in the surrounding rooms and the hallway. Having said that, the staff is great. The rooms are comfortable and very clean. And it’s in the middle of a quaint little town. And the history of the inn is amazing. I would definitely stay here again but would request not to be next to anyone.

The Ammonoosuc river is right out the back, with a lovely river walk. There are restaurants nearby and some interesting shops. My only gripe is that the lights for the parking lot are super high and super bright and the light leaks into the back rooms even with the shades closed. Avoid those rooms if you are light sensitive. For some reason in the early days parking lots were lit with one super bright fixture really high, rather than many lower, less bright and more effective lights. I've had this problem in other older hotels.

This is a historic building - it dates from the 1840s and it has been minimally modernized. There is no elevator (one accessible room on the main floor). The corridors in the main building are super wide - in those days the wardrobes were in the all, for convenient access by your servants. The rooms aren't very large, partially because a bathroom was cut out into all of them. The AC is a window unit. Be aware that the front desk closes at 10pm and plan accordingly. Parking was full and no one at the desk when we got there to give us a parking pass initially. Desk said staff would be there 4-10 pm and there was no one there for us to check in with or other occupants looking for parking passes. Reservation was changed to a day earlier on hotels.com and thayers was either not updated or never saw the change. Our keys were not on the counter as directed by the owner, owner showed up 30 minutes after we contacted them to give us keys at 8:30 pm. Room was clean, bed was comfortable.

We had a wonderful two-night stay! The staff was super friendly and very helpful. Parking is a bit limited (about 10 parking spaces in total), but the hotel offers parking permits for the street if their lot is full. The hotel is very old and has its quirks, so keep that in mind during your stay. Will definitely return!

Loved the old charm of this place! You can tell there are things they are struggling with but over all it is clean and they are super friendly. The morning of our stay the hot water was out and they kept us updated and apologized so many times. They worked promptly to fix the issue. Everything else was great. No elevator though so pack light!

The was great with the exception of the check in, the front desk person was sitting in her office and after 10 minutes of waiting she finally came out and asked if I needed anything, I said I was trying to check in and she mubbled some things then said it looks like you’re not ready and went back in the office and closed the door. About a half hour later a nice gentleman came by and asked if we had been helped (at this point there were others who needed to check in as well), I explained what happened and he went in the office and got the staff member out to check us in. Other than that the stay was great, cute room, great location! If it wasn’t for that one staff member it would have been a 5 star stay!

We then tried the phone number on the business card that was sitting in a rack on the desk and the phone number was disconnected, finally, randomly the desk clerk showed up. Great location in a really nice town. The Inn has a lot of character and is well kept, just be prepared for very sloped floors and noisy steps. The small rooms are VERY small, but they are priced accordingly. The bed was also very soft. The staff however was very friendly. I would come back...just book a larger room :)

I love, love, love this building! This is my second time staying here in the Winter. A big 'ole historic building like this makes me feel safe & secure while I'm sleeping at night. I happily used the electric heater & ceiling fan for the perfect room temperature. The only miss for me is breakfast. I'm not a packaged product sort of girl. Seems like the restaurant downstairs could be utilized instead? Or maybe since there are so many nice breakfast options nearby, just offer coffee & tea and skip the rest? Otherwise, please don't change a thing!

This historical old Inn is on Main Street right in the center of town, and convenient to everything Littleton has to offer. It has been lovingly refurbished and is well maintained. Its restaurant still has good reviews on social media, but is no longer in operation, though complementary "continental" breakfast is included. We didn't partake of that because we ate at the Littleton Diner, a block up the street, which is an essential destination. You are warned to close the bathroom door when showering to avoid your steam setting off the fire alarm. It did go off just as we finished packing out to go home, so no problem for us, but it would have been annoying in the middle of the night. There were workers present doing something, so it might have been them who set it off.

The hotel needs a refresh inside and out! The heating in the room could not be regulated and it was impossible to get even hot & cold water in the shower. The breakfast bar was sub-optimal, although the staff were pleasant. I would not recommend this hotel to others.

Very nice comfy old inn. Creaky and charming, held together by with industrial strength fire extinguishing plumbing system. Staff couldn't be friendlier or more helpful. Breakfast buffet was definitely just 'on the go'. I look forward to stay here again. Great value too.

The inn is centrally and conveniently located in the center of downtown Littleton. We enjoyed being able to walk to a lovely local restaurant for dinner and to look at storefronts afterwards. However, our room (named after Pat Buchanan - yuck!) was old and tired. It did have a comfortable bed, but the bathroom door we were informed upon check in needed to stay closed when showering or else the steam would set off the sprinkler system in the room. Also, being at street level at the front of the hotel, the traffic noise was loud well into the evening and picked up again early in the morning. A grab and go continental breakfast was advertised which turned out to be ultra-processed plastic wrapped pastries we had no interest in consuming. Other offerings were equally unappealing. No one was tending to the coffee and the front desk clerk was m.i.a. The clerk at check in was perfunctory and seemed anxious to get back to scrolling on her phone. The Thayer has a lot of history (it's on the National Register of Historic Places), but it felt like its glory days were well in the past. The comfortable bed and convenience to the downtown notwithstanding, I would take a hard pass on staying here again.

The bed was comfortable and clean, but the room was extremely loud, smelled musty, and the floor unit AC was loud even on low. Amenities non-existent. It definitely wasnt worth the price they are charging. Cool building, heavily unkept. The continental breakfast was extremely limited. Not worth the historic stay experience. Littleton is really a nice town to visit however.

Historic hotel right on main street - second floor has a balcony overlooking the street. You can walk the entire downtown area easily from the hotel, a nice reprieve after a long day driving. Being historic - the wooden floors aren't always level and the bathrooms were retrofitted in and can be small. Parking behind the hotel was simple, free, and easy.

Thayer's Inn is delightful both in it's history and its staff. Cautionary note; there are no elevators and considering it's age, things like thresholds, floors, doors etc are challenging for older people to maneuver. History vs modernity.
