Centara Grand Beach Resort & Villas Krabi

We had a great holiday with our two children. The resort has spacious rooms with large balconies, the pool is lovely and right next to the private beach which is quite beautiful. It has a water slide which the kids loved. The staff were very helpful. To get to most rooms you have to walk up many wooden stairs, but if you need transport to the room the hotel has a buggy service which works quite well. To get to the town for shopping, restaurants, or other services, you can either take the resort's boat by booking in advance, or you can do the Monkey Trail, which is quite strenuous and is wooden stairs going up and down. I would say that the Monkey Trail isn't easy. Overall I was very impressed and would recommend this place absolutely.

Kjempeflott beliggenhet og området. Hadde likevel forventet mer av et 5 stjernes hotel. Hotellrommene er flotte, men ser du nøye etter så er det slitt og kunne trengt en oppgradering. Kjempefin strand og bassengområdet, stor utvalg til frokost og velutstyrt treningsrom. Syntes prisene for mat og drikke var noe overpriset og dumt at det ikke er shuttle service frem og tilbake fra Ao Nang beach.

Perfect place for a quiet holiday, the resort basically has a private beach and all the amenities you need for a good rest. Boat tours booked through the hotel will pick you up from the hotel pier which is really handy.

A beautiful resort with good food - breakfast spread was amazing. Nice pool with a small water slide. Be ready to walk over a small hill thru a steep wooden staircase called the monkey trail if you wanna get to Ao Nang Beach. Nice speed boat takes you in and out of the hotel however this may not be convenient for all guests. The hotel buggy (golf cart) takes a while to come for the transportation of all the guests around the hotel but the staff try really hard and are very helpful despite being overwhelmed. Hotel was full even in low season. Our room had a hot tub which was superb and the view to the ocean was even better.

I loved the room and facilities. Gorgeous place, amazing view, peaceful and quiet, the staff are wonderfully friendly. I had a great Thai massage here. Very close to Aonang Beach, and that was fun. Paddle boarding was fun. The Velcro safety ankle bracelet on the paddle board was very worn and I was t sure it would hold. Something to replace. There is some west and tear on furniture here and there but I didn’t mind. The breakfast options were astounding. For me as a gluten free person I would love a few more options. The chef was more than happy to let me know which items were gluten free.

Property was beautiful. Staff was very helpful… especially Jeff and others when our safe wouldn’t open. Breakfast was fabulous. Pool and beach were wonderful. Spa was amazing.

It's a beautiful, private resort, a short shuttle boat ride from Nopparat Thara pier. The floating pier at the resort takes some getting used to but we got the hang of it! We took the monkey trail a few times to Ao Nang and it's a short walk, but there are some steep stairs to navigate. We loved the overall experience here, the view out to the bay is incredible. We even saw monkeys on our balcony. The restaurants and bars were also excellent. A great place to stay.

Fantastisk beliggenhed, man følte man var på sin egen ø. Rigtig god strand, samt pool med rutschebane og basketkurv. Rigtig god mad på strandcafeen og rigtig god morgenmad.

Breathtaking views, nice pool. Some deferred maintenance and upgrades (bathrooms need new mirrors and sinks). Our ceiling fan was so loud we couldn’t use it the first night but was replaced when we complained to the front desk. Staff was very friendly but claim your spot at the pool early if you want shade and/or an umbrella. The Thai restaurant had excellent meals, particularly the fish in sweet chili sauce. Breakfast was good but very chaotic.

Hotel itself beautiful huge rooms with beautiful views you dont want to leave. beautiful isolated beach,great breakfast open buffet, but few things can be improved, i arrived and there was no towels so it took 2 hours to get it,and share with your guests that they can use monkey trail not only boat to get out to other side og hotel thats i didn't know. Overall i would definitely come back

It is not a 5 star hotel, barely a 2-3 stars. Staff not prepared to help or assist with anything, not trained and dont speak english well. Staff very confused as well, with very different informations. I reserved an Ocean View Room but could only see trees outside the room that I was brought. Be aware that you are not going to rest at this “resort”. Most of the time you are going to be pre occupied with the service. Furniture at the room was so old and smell really bad. My first night was with my wife and mosquitos. Linen was so dirty… What a bad experience… Don’t know what else to say, it was the worst treatment I received in a hotel. Really interfered in my vacation. I hope thar after you read this, you should think twice about going to this place.

We had a great stay! The staff were always smiling and very helpful. It was clean and excellent accommodations. The lock on our sliding door to our room had to be repaired but other than that it was perfect.

Ok, firstly the hotel is far from 5 star, more like 3 star. It is clean and the view is ok,... just ok as there are trees everywhere so ocean view is not that good. The rooms are nice and spacious. The staff are friendly but very slow so room service is useless. Now what let's this place down is you expect it to be a private beach considering it is so expensive but it is full of holidaymakers not from the hotel so take no notice of the pictures. The pool is tiny with loud young booming music and there are nowhere near enough deck chairs. The beach is acceptable but not fantastic as claimed. The restaurant food is diabolical quality, just cheap frozen rubbish, beers are served in plastic jars not glass! The food is incredibly overpriced, average meal for two costs £40 for frozen cheap rubbish. Basically 4 times the price it should be! The only decent food is the Thai restaurant however that is insanely overpriced. There was a buffet one night, the cost was £60 per person which is scandalous for Thailand. Basically this hotel is run down, poor staff, absolutely terrible food and absurdly overpriced cheap food. I would say steer clear and go somewhere else as this place is just a money making con!

Med tanke på at dette er et privat område og kun tilgjengelig med båt eller gåtur i gjennom Monkeyforrest er det mye styr med signering på håndkler. Maten er ikke bra og veldig dyr. Ikke verdt prisen.

Do not stay here if you would like a clean, modern hotels. The bathroom in our hotel room was disgusting. There was dirt and residue on the walls, black mould in the shower and the floor around the sink had not been cleaned in a long time. The property itself is old and falling apart. The deck chairs and covers are old, even chairs at the restaurants are not safe. Finally, the food is not good and very over priced. It is 5x higher to eat at the hotel than in town. The staff were all lovely but that is the only nice thing about our stay.

Room was filthy on arrival- years of neglect and not being maintained properly. Had to ask for sheets to be changed and as deep clean (which was minimal). Towels and drinks not replenished daily, despite being in a club room. Not enough staff in restaurants. Breakfast- limited choice, food not labelled, cross contamination of serving utensils. The hotel changed the tone of our outward boat shuttle without telling us causing issues with our flight. Staff seem unhappy and service is below par compared to usual Thai hospitality. Would not stay here again

My stay at the hotel and location is excellent, and I have no complaints. The staff were incredibly professional, knowledgeable, and friendly. The rooms were very clean and comfortable. However, I do have two suggestion—elevators should be available throughout the property to better accommodate guests with disabilities or limited mobility. Secondly, staff transportation accommodation should be available, especially for those who work late shifts. The monkey trails should not be their primary access point to the hotel.

The property and buildings are in need of major repair, the ferry that is need to get to and from the hotel is an inconvenience and wastes valuable time during your trip. Service is slow, inconsistent and the laundry, linen etc. is done off the sort. The sheets smell musky as does the room. The exterior premises are not maintained and the walkways are full of debris. The private beach is littered with garbage and they do nothing to clean it up daily. I would never recommend this to friend…

It was a beautiful location, but there was a lot of trash on the beach and the property itself was pretty run down.

Hotellet er smukt, men det er det eneste. Super dyrt - måske 3-4 gange dyrere end andre steder ift mad, spa, drinks, etc, maden er ikke særlig god, vildt dårlig og stenhård seng ift ekstra opredning til vores datter på 9 år. Meget beskidt og super gammelt. Vores lås til værelset var gået i stykker så vi ikke kunne låse. Vores ene gardin var også gået i stykker. Personalet var søde og imødekommende, men de kan virkelig ikke tale engelsk, hvilket gør kommunikationen virkelig virkelig svær. Ikke nok båd afgange når man skal fra hotellet. Ofte når man bestilte fx en buggy til værelset dukkede den ikke op.

The location and idea of this secluded property is what enticed us to book our stay, however unfortunately the hotel has not been looked after as you would expect from a well known brand. Many areas are crumbling or need renovation to maintain the 5* and price of this hotel. It could be amazing. The room was lovely, but again seeing a lot of wear and tear, water fluctuated from boiling to freezing in the shower, TV didn’t work, one of the blinds broken. The sunloungers were very old and there was a Smelly stream running through the resort. We had a nice time, but for the price we paid I had expected better quality.

We paid for an upgraded room with a hot tub on the balcony which malfunctioned and we were unable to use during our visit (4 nights). The property claimed they fixed it, but they did not. The property did nothing to compensate us expect a cheap bottle of champagne, which we don't drink. Very disappointing.

A picturesque piece of Ao Nang way past it's prime. The highlight of this property definitely has to be the views and where the property is located. It is truly breathtaking. Unfortunately, the property was probably incredible in it's prime, but that time is long gone. Our room was old and not maintained well. Parts of the room were falling apart and in bad condition, shoddy workmanship was done to repair some issues, and the AC made an annoying drone that made it difficult to sleep. The pool, although large and with a slide, was dirty with algae and the plastic beach chairs were on the brink of breaking. The food is unimpressive at the Coast restaurant and the breakfast buffet. But, one of the biggest disappointments was the Chinese and Japanese buffet that we had to pay 1,900 bhat each for. Truly a waste of money. They had a raw bar, which didn't match the theme at all and I'm sure took most of the budget. The choices of japanese and Chinese food were very limited and not impressive at all. We left the buffet very disappointed. The Thai restaurant was not bad and we didn't dine at the Japanese restaurant. We received massages at the spa that we really enjoyed. Another issue with the property is that to leave the property you either had to walk the monkey trail, which is a bit of a trek (forget it if you're in heels) or you had to take a boat to the pier and get transportation from there; not convenient at all. Overall, I would not recommend staying at the Centara Grand.

First time in Krabi. The hotel is beautiful. Very clean . With a lot of amenities. All the staff were very nice and professional. We stayed on a high end room. The room had a king bed , soaking tub and shower , jacuzzi, sun, and tanning area. Room service and laundry service.. I will definitely be returning. Thank you for making our stay magical. Amazing location on a gorgeous private beach surrounded by 200’ limestone cliffs, with plenty of dining and shopping opportunities just on the other side of monkey hill. The property is starting to show its age as it is getting ready to go through a major overhaul, but the rooms are large with great balconies and amazing views.

We had an amazing stay at Centara Grand in Krabi! The resort was absolutely beautiful, with breathtaking scenery that made for a truly relaxing getaway. One of the most unique aspects was that it’s only accessible by boat, which gave it an exclusive and secluded feel—perfect for a peaceful escape. We stayed in an oceanfront villa, and it was fabulous! The room was spacious and well-appointed, and we especially loved the private plunge pool. A special touch that meant a lot to us was the lovely honeymoon decoration they left for us—such a thoughtful gesture! While our overall experience was fantastic, there were a couple of minor inconveniences. We requested someone to check our mini fridge a few times, and though we were told someone would come, no one ever did. Additionally, the restaurant service was a bit slow—we often had to flag down the waitress to get our tab, as we weren’t checked on regularly. That said, the beauty of the resort, the exclusivity, and the luxurious accommodations far outweighed these small issues. We would absolutely stay here again and highly recommend it to anyone looking for a stunning and tranquil getaway in Thailand!

Surclassement à l'arrivée pour une chambre qui finalement s'est révélée problématique : stores baie centrale ne fonctionnent pas du coup réveil aux aurores, interrupteur des 2 lampes de chevets en panne donc éteindre et rallumer en vissant et dévissant les ampoules, serrure de la baie vitrée cassée donc obligé de la condamner, batterie de la porte principale à plat donc carte magnétique ne fonctionne pas et obligé d'enjamber la terrasse pour entrer... bref problèmes signalés à 3 reprises sans réel succès dans les interventions.

Sadly we booked a non-refundable hotel stay and they don't tell you up front that their property is only accessible by boat or you need to hike over a hill with stairs to the town. When it's super hot and humid - it was incredibly uncomfortable. What good about this property: 1. The location is super beautiful. You will see monkeys. 2. If you don't want to go anywhere else, you don't have to due to the amenities. 3. The food is pretty good. I think we enjoyed every meal there. 4. The entertainment 5. Friendly staff Now for the bad things: 1. If you enjoy exploring the nearby towns when you travel and don't like hiking in 92F with high humidity for 20-25 to get there - you won't like this place. The path was very crowded at times. People who don't stay at the resort walk over the path to stay at the beach. When they all leave after the sun sets - the resort is much more pleasant. 2. The service is not 5 star. No turn down service and at breakfast you have to seat yourself which can be a bit crazy since the tables aren't cleared quickly so you don't which ones are open. 3. The beds are very hard 4. Toilets didn't flush well 5. Shower temp was not consistent. It fluctuated from hot to cold 5 times in 5 minutes 6. Food is expensive - same price as California 7.the AC seems set at one very cold temperature so we had to keep shutting it off to manage it. 8. Rooms aren't sound resistant - the workers talking in the path outside our room woke us up. 9. no black out shades.

This is the perfect hotel for getting away from it all, it’s in a unique location with a lovely beach and plenty of beds to lie on. The staff are also very friendly and the hotel has a great pool and gym. The rooms are however a little tired and in need of renovation as is the exterior of the hotel in parts. The walk up several stairs and a couple of steep hills to our room also became a bit of a drag towards the end of our stay mainly because of the heat and humidity. It’s definitely worth staying at this hotel though.

HORRIBLE!! STAY AWAY!! This is at best a 3-star. Worst experience. Please don't get scammed by theproperty pictures on the website. We arrived at 3 30 pm from Phuket expecting the room to be ready. The usual checkin time is 3 pm. We were unable to get a room till 5 20 pm. The staff was very confused and were giving me conflicting reasons for the delay, one said the room wasn't clean and it's getting ready, the other said there's been a mixup. Overall, the lobby didn't have any AC and we were left sweating at 90F. To top it off, we ordered food and drinks at the beach restaurant and the waiter forgot to send the order back to the kitchen and we were waiting for our food for one hour. Then, after followup from my end, they realized this and the waiter who messed it up was giving us wierd reasons like the chef couldn't understand his language etc. Overall, this was a horrible experience for us.

I had a terrible experience here right from check in. Poor communication. The staff had us sitting there for 45 minutes before he told us the room was not ready. The facility Must have ran out of face cloths and hand towels as we didn’t not have any for our entire 3 day stay despite asking multiple times. Getting to your room is a hike. The golf carts for transportation weren’t available ever for 20 minutes. The amount of money we paid for this hotel did NOT match what we got. Would not recommend this place to anyone

It was a nice property to get away. It is a little older but they looked to be always working on the maintenance and upkeep. You are alone with no other properties or town near by unless you take the monkey trail over to the town around the mountain. Lots of steps / steep steps by very manageable. Make sure to double check any reservations that you might make to be sure they were made properly, we had a couple that were not correct and must have been lost in translation. Jeff at the front desk did a nice job.

It is a very nice and secluded location. The views from hotel are amazing. Here are the negatives: The location is hard to get to. The hotel provides scheduled boat service from Nopparat pier. The boat service needs to be prebooked Aoonang pier is closer and has a lot of activities (beach, reataurants, bars shopping), but hotel doesnt provide boat service from there. There is a 15 min walk from Aonang to hotel using steep wooden stairs, but its can be tough especially during night and rain. I saw a person fall down the stairs. Even the hotel staff have to use this trail late in the night. Its terrible that hotel doesnt provide them a boat drop off service. Hotel rooms could do with some upgrades and breakfast buffet could do with some improvements

Probably the best hotel in the area. While the resort is a bit tired, our stay was good. You are isolated to the point where the resort is accessible by a short boat transport and have the option of walking over the monkey trail (10min) or walk around the headland on low tide to shops, bars and restaurants.

This is an amazing resort. The highlights are the scenic setting on the cliffs, and the private beach! Be aware that you reach the resort by boat. You can walk the monkey trail into town but it's a long walk. You reserve boats to go into town or for any sight seeing excursions. If you stay late in Krabi you can hail a water taxi if necessary. The cost was about 700 THB. If you want to get away from it all you can't beat this resort. The only downside is the extra time and planning required when you want to do anything off property.

Boat service too and from the hotel is good, it goes every hour from hotel to pier. But the pier is too far from Ao Nang (shops, restaurants, bars etc) and then you have to get taxi there, which isn’t cheap! Takes about 15 mins from hotel to pier and then another 10 mins in taxi to Ao Nang. Quickest way to Ao Nang is by walking the monkey trail, which isn’t easy, a lot of steep stairs takes about 20 minutes, wouldn’t recommend with young kids. Hotel prices for food, alcohol, massage etc is so so expensive, double or triple the price for the same thing you get in town! Breakfast buffet was ok, not a lot of options for western cuisine, they mainly cater for Indians, most guests there were Indian when we stayed. Overall, the hotel is nice, rooms cleaned everyday and staff are friendly and helpful. It you want a resort style holiday, laying by the pool all day then it’s good but very inconvenient if you want to explore and see other parts of Krabi

The first thing to understand is that the property is accessed by complimentary speedboat from Ao Nang to a wet, floating dock; barefoot or flip-flops are the appropriate footwear. Everything with this property, all be itna bit pricey by Thai standards, was top notch. Every one of the staff was nothing short of splendid and accomodating.The grounds and location are spectacular! The infrastructure itself is showing signs of wear typical of tropical locations but was still remarkable. Don't hesitate to stay here. We loved it.

Great hotel and great location as long as you don’t mind being isolated. We didn’t mind walking through the monkey trail to get to ao nang but it was definitely not an easy stroll. The room was amazing and great staff and breakfast.

This resort sits inside a national park

Very good service. The food there was good, but very expensive. Airport prices all over the place. You could see that some parts of the hotel was worn down. But very good breakfast, service and the place is incredible.

The resort is peaceful and quiet but only accessible via boat. Food is limited to what is available at the resort. We tried the seafood buffet one night and was disappointed. Two of my family members got food poisoning from eating there.

The resort is beautiful, awesome beach. The restaurants are mediocre at best and cost 10 times more than anywhere else in Thailand. The place is big and built on a cliff but if you want a ride to the room you need to wait half an hour. The staff does a favour when addressing any issue. For the price they charge I can not recommend

Everything was good until the last night. My group went to their bbq buffet. Food selection was average for the $$$ and two in our group got food poisoning. Not the greatest night before having to get in an airplane

Love this beautiful property. The room was beautiful and had everything we needed. The staff were so friendly and we can tell they work so hard, so thank you! The only thing we didn’t love was the food. I think if this was improved it would make a world of a difference.

This hotel is beautiful! Definitely the grandest in Ao Nang with cliff views from the beach. My husband & I came here on our honeymoon and we couldn’t have asked for a better hotel room, overlooking the cliffs and ocean, and beach/pool area was great to relax at. The room itself is very nice as well and the shower was great. The pools and beach are very well kept. The breakfast was amazing. It had such a huge selection of breads, international foods, and juices. We only had a few dislikes 1. The hotel food and drink is extremely overpriced, and is not good. We could not fathom the price of anything there. Everything is basically 4-5x the price of anything else in the rest of Thailand. Sadly, we were so appalled by the prices we could not bring ourselves to spend any money there on anything other than the hotel room we had already paid for. Luckily we were able to take the monkey trail every day for food. 2. The romantic dinner was right in the middle of their beach, in front of a ton of people, and was not private whatsoever. I had booked online before visiting the hotel and the moment I got to the hotel and realized where it was located on the beach, I was very disappointed. For the very high price, the food wasn’t good either 3. The shampoo had the same effect on my hair as dish soap and they had no conditioner. Overall, great stay though! We loved the beachfront view from our room and the hotel is in a good location right on the other side of the monkey trail in Ao Nang.

Breathtaking views, nice pool. Some deferred maintenance and upgrades (bathrooms need new mirrors and sinks). Our ceiling fan was so loud we couldn’t use it the first night but was replaced when we complained to the front desk. Staff was very friendly but claim your spot at the pool early if you want shade and/or an umbrella. The Thai restaurant had excellent meals, particularly the fish in sweet chili sauce. Breakfast was good but very chaotic.
