Hotel is being renovated atm but this did not affect our stay at all. Beautiful location, great size of room, spotlessly clean. Most enjoyable spa. Had dinner in the coast restaurant. Staff are extremely helpful and friendly.

No air con in the room and the fan just was not quite enough. Hotel was beautiful including the bar restaurant. Unfortunately the “spa” was tired and was like a public leisure centre. The gym also tired but large.

Just a suggestion, but the live singer in Friday 24th, who was amazing, but sang to an almost empty bar, where as, if maybe relocated to another area, perhaps the vast reception or the smaller front area bar, it would have been more inclusive..

Mostly very good, as expected from the Grand Hotel. Only negatives were that the room was too warm (no aircon and window only opened a couple of inches), and the gym/swimming pool were very busy with outside users (in fairness, it was the weekend) to the point of discouraging us from partaking.

Rude front desk staff charged me an additional €40 for the room over what I had already paid. Room not as described on website, building work being carried out along the corridor, dust everywhere, constant noise & random fire alarms. Please refund asap.

We arrived early and our room was ready, so that was super great! The common / public areas on the ground level are very well maintained, however the hallways could use some maintenance and the rooms are very dated. Spiderwebs everywhere you looked. Seems as if a "special" section of the hotel is reserved Expedia users. Overall, not so "Grand".

This is a really lovely hotel and was our first choice for Malahide. Easy and plentiful parking upon arrival leading to a quite traditional and elegant hotel with a truly fantastic location. The lobby area is bright, impressive and welcoming. The hotel is exceptionally clean and our room was quiet. A little tired in parts however this didn’t bother us. Slightly slow checkin but pleasant, hardworking staff. Lobby is grand and comfortable and views are beautiful. I would definitely stay again. We booked room only and weren’t offered any breakfast options for our two night but I suppose we could’ve asked. The bar looked beautiful too. Very nice indeed overall - we liked it a lot - thank you.

Love this hotel and it’s perfect location in Malahide. Car parking is good although the underground car park could do with a spruce up and better lighting. Not sure the foyer works well but this is more to do with my preferences on designs and layout. Staff were friendly at reception and check in was completed quickly. The room I stayed in was beautiful but due to the inability to control the heating and loud annoying noises coming from the spa area were frustrating - my stay was disappointing, my fault for not asking for a room move but these days they should be able to improve noise insulation. I leave my room as clean as possible for room service however I was again disappointed at the obvious wipe over and make up of bed rather than being fully serviced. Ticket left on floor and some items not replenished- I understand recruitment is difficult at present but this hotel needs to show and live standards. Bars and food was excellent and altough I didn’t do breakfast the service and quality cannot be criticised. Would I stay again- not sure if I can find a similar hotel at the same value. This hotel is obviously spending money on improvements to rooms and design but due to its age it may need a major investment in cooling systems, noise insulation etc.

Lovely hotel altho the room we were in had absolutely no view .Only of a wall opposite .Also very noisy , was woken by noise in the corridor .Self check in was good but would hve preferred face to face check in . Busy hotel but very nice .

OLd and dated. Carpet in hallways looks like it hasn't been updated in 100 years. Rooms were clean but small. And very warm. Very confusing layout. Had to take 2 seperate elevators to find room on 3rd floor. Not worth the price.

Love the new decor but the room was too hot even in Sept and the fan didn’t cool it( no a/c). Also the round about way to get to a room on floor 5 required a map and 2 elevators or stairs and an elevator, very confusing ( had to help about 5 people in the hall find the way during my short stay) and inconvenient. Some of the food could be better.

We have stayed at The Grand on a number of occasions and always enjoyed the ambience - including the friendliness of the staff. However ... We generally book the same type of room - the 'superior' twin or double - but there was no doubt that the space in our room last week was significantly less that that of the room we were allocated in July - so we were slightly disappointed. The room did feel a little cramped - partly because of the extra bed - which we had no need of.

Checked in online - don’t bother, it doesn’t make the arrival process any easier. Stayed in [executive) room 212, which overlooks what appears to be the a/c unit for the hotel, which seemed to turn out every few minutes all night. Had to shut the windows, but it didn’t shut out the noise. Lovely hotel apart from that, breakfast pricey.

We had a wonderful experience at the Grand Hotel. The hotel lives up to its name – elegant, welcoming, and beautifully located right on the seafront. The rooms were spacious, clean, and very comfortable, with everything I needed for a relaxing stay. The staff were warm, professional, and went out of their way to make sure everything was perfect. Breakfast was excellent with plenty of choice, and the bar and restaurant offered delicious meals with a lovely atmosphere.

When we booked this room it was for 3 people on your website. When we arrived hotel told us only booked for 2 at your end which was very disappointing and we had to pay extra for our daughter. Would be very reluctant to use your site again as it was very misleading information.

Very nice hotel however I didn’t find the one lady at the front desk to be very helpful or all that pleasant to be honest. Unfortunate. Also we were in a room on the first floor that had a lot of noise below it. Clanging around. The bar area was nice, service was just ok.

The Grand Hotel is an easy walk to the Railway Station, Malahide village and the Malahide Castle and gardens. The hotel is in the Grand Style of yesteryear with many updates. The ocean and sand dunes and beach walk is just outside the hotel. Great area to walk around in. Many guests played golf on the Malahide golf course. Malahide village has a great selection of good restaurants. Bus from the airport stopped outside the hotel.

Very nice place to stay! 10 min walk to train station and about 30mins to Dublin City center, 20 mins to Howth. Staff was very nice and helpful and bartenders very friendly and fun! Room was clean, bed was comfortable. Would definitely recommend!

Very "grand" property with multiple lobbies, conference spaces, bar, restaurant I had a single rooom-- compact, bright, everything I needed -with a seaview. Village, rail station, castle, coastal path all within an easy walk Efficient staff. Airport a 15 -20 min cab ride and hotel will book for you

Extremely beautiful hotel inside and out! Many dining/food/drink options inside hotel. Easy to walk to town, pubs, beach...Loved having an expresso/coffee machine in my room. Also had a great view of the water, boats, and sunrise was my bedroom window. Check-in & check-out was quick and easy just like making the reservation online. Room was large and comfortable. highly recommend!

I’ve stayed quite a few times and love the location, across from the sea and near shops, restaurants, public transport, plus the beautiful grounds of Malahide Castle. Bedrooms peaceful and well equipped. Only thing I miss are the cooked while you wait breakfasts of pre-Covid days, the buffet is slightly less wonderful.

Great location and very nice hotel. Breakfast was not up to the hotel itself. Cold eggs tough bacon. Seemed like what was left over from previous day was put in fridge and taken out next day. Staff in restaurant was delightful.

Everything was great, it's a beautiful hotel in a very picturesque area. The only negative comment I have concerns some of the food in the restaurant. I had a fish dish, sea bream, which was a bit tasteless and had quite a few bones in it. Considering the prices It was disappointing and I didn't enjoy it very much. I would certainly stay there again but wouldn't eat the restaurant. However the bar food the evening before was excellent

Breakfast was ok. Could have been hotter. Sausages and bacon could have been cooked more. Our room on both mornings had no hot water and the radiator in bedroom didn’t work. The fan in bathroom did not work either. All was reported at time. Disappointing for a 5 star hotel
