High Quality hotel right in the old centre of Rouen, literally seconds from the Old Market Square The hotel is steeped in history and maintained to a very high standard. The staff were all very professional and friendly and we enjoyed the live piano in the bar on Friday night. Room was traditional in format but modern in decor / fittings. We drove here and hotel directions to valet parking area were spot on. Car is parked for you but very accessible direct from reception if needed Highly recommended

Everything was great, the service, location, the prices, pool, spa, beautiful bar, Stunning architecture and design, size of rooms, comfort of beds, parking. Everything apart from sauna not working. Highly recommended !

A very comfortable, conveniently located hotel. Breakfast was absolutely delicious. The black and red decor in the lobby is a bit strident and navigating the hallways and the elevators is a bit tricky. I think that they should try to make the public areas more welcoming. Other than that, we had a very pleasant stay.

Excellent séjour dans cet hôtel mythique situé dans un monument historique de l'ultra centre de Rouen, à deux pas de la place du vieux marché. Staff très gentil, serviable et disponible. Service de qualité, excellent petit déjeuner (buffet), chambre très propre et très calme. Grande piscine intérieure (pas très chaude cependant) + sauna + hammam + salle de sport. Gros coup de coeur pour la soirée piano-bar du samedi soir, une excellente initiative de la part de l'hôtel ! Nous recommandons +++ cet hôtel.

The hotel is very convenient for the old town and is just minutes alj from the Gros Horloge. We had a room overlooking the courtyard which was very quiet and beautifully furnished. The spa is quite amazing for a hotel facility. The staff were all very charming and helpful. We had a most enjoyable 3 night stay.

The staff was extremely helpful and friendly; the room was spacious, attractive and had a comfortable bed and a nice bathroom; there was music on Friday and Saturday night in the entry courtyard; the breakfast was delicious with a nice variety. Elegant, historic, lovely…

Beyond the nice old entrance and prime location is a two-star experience. I'm not a demanding guest, but there was a long list of issues during my stay, including: ROOM RESERVATION: I booked a modern-looking room with a "view" and was taken to a dumpy, traditional-looking room with no view at all. The room had just one window: a narrow foot-tall horizontal one about 8 feet off the floor through which you could see nothing. When I informed reception of the mixup, they said there was nothing they could do and offered me free breakfast, which I had already been told was free to me. PARKING: The hotel advertises "valet" parking, which you access by pulling up to a retractable barrier along a narrow one-lane road in the city center. When I arrived (not long after checkin time) the parking attendant was on a smoke break. I ended up causing a minor traffic jam for 5-10 minutes until someone else behind me (either a hotel employee or guest) got our of their car and badged me into the lot. MAINTENANCE: The room's bathroom had a bucket under the sink that collected loud drips. The shower only got lukewarm, not hot. The kettle for coffee/tea was in the closet and had no obvious wall plug, so I used it in the bathroom. It seemed quite old (you had to hold down the boil switch or it wouldn't work). We couldn't figure out how to turn off the bedside lamps, so had to unplug them at night. And the sheets had a stain. Find somewhere better!

Beautiful and charming hotel in a great location for exploring Rouen and surrounding areas. The staff were very friendly and very helpful. Valet parking worked well and was much appreciated. Lovely room with the turret bathroom fulfilling my childhood dreams! Some attention to detail needed as room was a little tired looking in places (carpet had stains on). The big negative was that having emailed in advance to ask about vegan breakfast options, I was assured that the hotel catered for all dietary needs. It did not. The only thing I could eat for breakfast was fruit - there were no plant based yogurts, milks or any bread that was suitable for vegan diet. I did ask several different staff but in the end we drove to a Carrefour and bought plant-based yogurts, cheese and bread, so that I could eat something other than fruit for breakfast. This was disappointing for a hotel of this standard, when everything else about it was lovely.

Described as a "Flamboyant Gothic House" built in the 16th century, now converted to a hotel right in the middle of the historic part of Rouen. Seemed as if rooms (particularly ours, room 110) were carved out of available space- not our typical business hotel room but quite enchanting. Beautiful public spaces and excellent cleanliness. Staff were extremely helpful, moving our car to their lot and helping with luggage. Negatives were not enough power outlets in the room and limited things to do in Rouen. Natural history museum was closed for renovations, which we found out after a long walk. Don't think Rouen is worth another visit.

The hotel building and lobby are beautiful. The location is perfect . The layout of the hotel is somewhat confusing until one figures it out. The staff is very friendly and helpful. Our room was clean but it felt needing renovation. Windows were not cleaned for a long time and I was afraid to open them. Crakes in the bathroom floor. The room was spacious but the bathroom and the toilet occupy 1/3 of the room with little space left for the wardrobe. The electrical outlets were all near the floor and under the night stand. Was ok for us but thinking of the older guests, it may be a problem needing to lay down on the floor to plug them . Overall, we were happy with our stay.

Absolutely outstanding! The staff were warm and attentive, the room was spotless and comfortable, and every detail felt thoughtfully planned. The food was delicious, the location perfect, and the overall atmosphere relaxing. I couldn’t have asked for a better stay—highly recommended!

Das Bourgtheroulde ist so wie man es von einem 5 Sterne Hotel erwarten kann. Das historische Gebäude mit seinem Innenhof ist ein Traum und perfekt saniert. Einen Stern Abzug gibt es jedoch, da die Fenster nicht geöffnet werden können bzw. es konnte nur ein Flügel auf gekippt werden, absolut unverständlich und man fühlt sich dadurch eingesperrt.
Das Bourgtheroulde ist so wie man es von einem 5 Sterne Hotel erwarten kann. Das historische Gebäude mit seinem Innenhof ist ein Traum und perfekt saniert. Einen Stern Abzug gibt es jedoch, da die Fenster nicht geöffnet werden können bzw. es konnte nur ein Flügel auf gekippt werden, absolut unverständlich und man fühlt sich dadurch eingesperrt.

The staff were exceptionally friendly and helpful. They fulfilled every request and helped in every way possible. The staff deserve every bit of praise. The room, however, left something to be desired. Our junior suite was large, but the furnishings felt like something from an airport hotel. And the style of the room leaned too much into the castle motif with the rock tile and dull color. The history of the building offers some explanation, but the given that it was remodeled in 2010 makes me wonder why it still felt so old. The excellent staff, great location, and incredible history of the hotel made for an enjoyable stay. But there is definitely room for improvement.

My room was in an old part of the hotel that was connected in a very bizarre way. I had to go down 6 stairs, up the elevator to the 2nd floor, up 6 stairs, down the hall, down 12 stairs, down another hall to a second elevator, up to the 2nd floor (yes, again) through a doorway and finally to my room....it was crazy. The air conditioning didn't work and they offered me a fan (didn't offer to fix it) which I had to request again. I should have insisted on a new room.

L’expérience a été bonne mais très frustrés sur la chambre qui n’est pas conforme aux photos lors de ma réservation. En effet, nous avons réservé une chambre privilège VUE VILLE est nous avions uniquement une minuscule fenêtre et qui plus est, en hauteur, ne nous offrant absolument pas de vue sur la ville et encore moins de luminosité. (Chambre 305) Nous ne renouvèlerons pas l’expérience. Merci

The hotel is very convenient for the old town and is just minutes alj from the Gros Horloge. We had a room overlooking the courtyard which was very quiet and beautifully furnished. The spa is quite amazing for a hotel facility. The staff were all very charming and helpful. We had a most enjoyable 3 night stay.

Described as a "Flamboyant Gothic House" built in the 16th century, now converted to a hotel right in the middle of the historic part of Rouen. Seemed as if rooms (particularly ours, room 110) were carved out of available space- not our typical business hotel room but quite enchanting. Beautiful public spaces and excellent cleanliness. Staff were extremely helpful, moving our car to their lot and helping with luggage. Negatives were not enough power outlets in the room and limited things to do in Rouen. Natural history museum was closed for renovations, which we found out after a long walk. Don't think Rouen is worth another visit.

The hotel building and lobby are beautiful. The location is perfect . The layout of the hotel is somewhat confusing until one figures it out. The staff is very friendly and helpful. Our room was clean but it felt needing renovation. Windows were not cleaned for a long time and I was afraid to open them. Crakes in the bathroom floor. The room was spacious but the bathroom and the toilet occupy 1/3 of the room with little space left for the wardrobe. The electrical outlets were all near the floor and under the night stand. Was ok for us but thinking of the older guests, it may be a problem needing to lay down on the floor to plug them . Overall, we were happy with our stay.

The staff were exceptionally friendly and helpful. They fulfilled every request and helped in every way possible. The staff deserve every bit of praise. The room, however, left something to be desired. Our junior suite was large, but the furnishings felt like something from an airport hotel. And the style of the room leaned too much into the castle motif with the rock tile and dull color. The history of the building offers some explanation, but the given that it was remodeled in 2010 makes me wonder why it still felt so old. L'hôtel est magnifique, très bien situé pour profiter de Rouen et nous avez été très bien accueillis. Par contre, nous avons été déçu du service du bar, nous avons attendus plus de 30 minutes pour avoir 2 cocktails, nous avons du demander afin d'avoir des cacahuètes et olives, et nous étiez directement au bar, pas sur des canapés. Les gens sur les canapés devaient se déplacer au bar afin d'obtenir la carte et revenir pour passer leur commande. Nous avons été également déçu par le service du petit déjeuner : Les tables ne sont pas redresser rapidement donc nous ne savons pas où nous assoir, si elles sont redresser il y manque des couverts ou les tasses. Après avoir demander une tasse qui n'est pas arrivée, nous avons dû en prendre une sur la table d'à côté. Nous avons dû demander des petites cuillères car celles-ci n'avaient été mise au dressage de la table. Un couple voisin de notre table s'est vu débrasser leur table alors qu'ils allaient se resservir au buffet. L'hôtel est vraiment magnifique, la conciergerie et l'accueil sont parfait mais le service restauration manque de professionnalisme.

This is a beautiful property close to all that Rouen has to offer. Our room was lovely and comfortable. The staff was extremely friendly and helpful. We truly enjoyed our stay and will definitely chose to stay here again in future visits to Normandy and Rouen.

Beautiful and charming hotel in a great location for exploring Rouen and surrounding areas. The staff were very friendly and very helpful. Valet parking worked well and was much appreciated. Lovely room with the turret bathroom fulfilling my childhood dreams! Some attention to detail needed as room was a little tired looking in places (carpet had stains on). The big negative was that having emailed in advance to ask about vegan breakfast options, I was assured that the hotel catered for all dietary needs. It did not. The only thing I could eat for breakfast was fruit - there were no plant based yogurts, milks or any bread that was suitable for vegan diet. I did ask several different staff but in the end we drove to a Carrefour and bought plant-based yogurts, cheese and bread, so that I could eat something other than fruit for breakfast. This was disappointing for a hotel of this standard, when everything else about it was lovely.

Personnel excellent, mais la chambre est petite, tout comme la salle de petit-déjeuner. Celle-ci est souvent saturée et il faut faire la queue dans le hall pour entrer. Mesquin pour un hôtel 5 étoiles.

The hotel itself is well maintained and very clean, and the location is excellent. The staff was also consistently friendly and helpful. However, there were a few things that fell short of what I would expect from a five-star hotel. On our first day, we asked for an extra luggage rack, but it was never delivered, so we had to ask again the following day. We also told the receptionist that the refrigerator in our room was not working. No one ever came to check it, so we were unable to use it during our stay. On another day, while we were sleeping late, the housekeeper attempted to enter the room. The door was latched, so he could not come in, but rather than leaving us alone after realizing that we were inside, he continued trying to open the door. The hotel itself is well maintained and very clean, and the location is excellent. The staff was also consistently friendly and helpful. However, there were a few things that fell short of what I would expect from a five-star hotel. On our first day, we asked for an extra luggage rack, but it was never delivered, so we had to ask again the following day. We also told the receptionist that the refrigerator in our room was not working. No one ever came to check it, so we were unable to use it during our stay. On another day, while we were sleeping late, the housekeeper attempted to enter the room. The door was latched, so he could not come in, but rather than leaving us alone after realizing that we were inside, he continued trying to open the door. Het is een prachtig hotel en de ligging is zeer gunstig. Wij boekte een kamer met Kingsize bed. Grote kamer met grote badkamer (bad en douche) en aparte toilet. Bed was uitstekend. Een minpunt van onze kamer was dat deze “uitkijkt” op een soort binnen zaal van het hotel zelf en een raam wat niet open kan. Daarnaast zien de deuren van de kamers eruit als kluisdeuren. Voelt een beetje claustrofobisch. Verder staat er een tv op de kamer van minimaal 15 jaar oud (geen smart tv). Voor een 5 sterren hotel vind ik dat absoluut niet kunnen
