The pool was out of service during our stay . The in house restaurant and bar were also closed on Saturday night . These were some of the reasons we chose this hotel. Thus we were a little disappointed . The breakfast was a limited " continental breakfast " which was extra and not included with the room . Recommend going to the IHOP in the same plaza instead.

We stayed at Hilton Garden Inn Silver Spring White Oak between November 26 through December 1, 2024. While we were there, many cars were broken into on the property, with windows smashed in all of the cars parked in front of the hotel, it was discovered on Thanksgiving morning. Apparently 9 cars were broken into, we learned from affected guests. The following day, more guests had their windows broken into (or chipped with an attempt of a break-in) with contents of their car stolen. We were surprised by the lack of notification from the hotel, their denial to guests that this had just occurred the day prior (and seemed to be a common occurrence based on our subsequent online research), lack of cleanup of glass on the parking lot grounds. The strip of cars being targeted on Thanksgiving day, are in front of the hotel, although they are blocked by planted bushes. It seems irresponsible of the hotel, due to the repeat crime, to not install cameras around the property and cut down the bushes for visibility, and/or hire a security office to cover the premise. Our car was not affected, although we parked at our family's residence and took an uber to and from the hotel to avoid the hassle of a break-in. We typically stay at Hilton Garden Inn during our family visits; and although the apathy of staff is off-putting, it has been convenient as a HH member. We will not be staying at this Silver Spring White Oak Hilton Garden Inn unless an effort is made to increase their security.

I've stayed here a few times prior and its great, without complaint. That's main reason why I keep selecting this hotel when i travel to this area. Plent of restaurants within the complex, great parking and very accommodating staff. Not to mention the indoor heated pool.

The room was clean and comfortable. I do wish that there were USB charging stations in the room. The breakfast was great. We didn’t swim in the pool…it looked pretty cloudy and green.

We stayed 3 days while visiting Washington DC. It's about a 30 minute commute to the subway and traffic is heavy. Just be an alert driver! Subway is about a 20 minute ride. Boys loved the pool. For a small add-in fee we purchased the Breakfast Bufet and it was satisfying. Overall a very nice place to stay.

We couldn’t use the pool. there was a party and it was overrun with too many unsupervised children. Don’t advertise the pool if it is not available. I use the pool for exercise for a health reason and was told it was available.

Upon checking out, we found bedbugs and captured one to turn in to front desk staff. The manager, Lynn Williams, offered to give us Points for a future (possible) two day stay. I signed up for the Honors program as he advised, and sent him the email as well. I have heard nothing from him. Staff was wonderful and hotel was nice, but the bedbugs caused me to spend 12+ hours doing laundry and worrying about our homes becoming infested.

Front desk staff, maids, and the room were excellent. The room was comfy and spotless. The breakfast was subpar. First of all they charged us, it was not free. Secondly the food was terrible. Greasy omelette on a paper plate. Waited FOREVER for food. No coffee in urn. Filled 20 minutes after we arrived. Woman taking orders and serving acted like we were inconveniencing her. Very few people there so it's not like they were overwhelmed.

The hotel was dirty. The room was dirty, the bed linen had someone elses hair on it and stains, the furniture had old dried up food on it. The bathroom was filthy and the bathroom door handle was broke so the door could not close and latch. The heat barely worked. I had to turn the heat all the way to 80 for it to get warm and even then it blew out cold air most of the time. Heat blew for about 2 mins then it would blow out cold air. The firestick couldn't connect to the tv because of the wifi but we were able to connect it to our hotspot. Ended up not staying because I couldn't get comfortable in a cold dirty room. I don't know if they forgot to clean the room or what but I was disgusted and cold.

It was ok. There was something missing over the desk area, either artwork or a mirror. In the bathroom the paint on the vanity was chipped & the caulking around the tub appeared to have mold on it. The bedding appeared clean & neat.

When we arrived to check in at 4pm, room was not ready and we were told that it needed some maintenance, eventually, we were given a different room. The new room had very loud and noisy air-conditioning unit, likely malfunctioning compressor, it kept waking me up all night long each time it turns on. This is poor management!!!!

Been staying here a couple of times per year since the 2010's. It's definitely showing its age -- peeling paint, slow drains -- the blackout shade actually fell off its roller! Also, the desk clerk gave us no info about how to access wifi. But the facility is clean, staff is friendly and the reasonably priced breakfast buffet is excellent.

We had to stay nearby the hospital for several days to support my sister. We had my 20 year old daughter who has special needs and my 3 year old niece who was out of sorts while her mom spent her days in the hospital. The staff was so kind and supportive it helped us make the best of a tough situation. The pool was well- heated so our little niece could really enjoy it - clean and plenty of towels. The room was large and we all slept well as it was quiet all three nights we were there. While they don’t have complimentary breakfast we found what they have for sale was very reasonable and good. And free coffee/tea in the lobby every morning really helped. Great place during a tough time - thank you.

Room was very nice. Bed was comfortable but the pillows were terrible. They were so soft they felt like you sleeping on nothing. Not a fan. Staff was friendly and professional. Unfortunately, there was a group of boys on the third floor who were constantly making noise after 10pm and before 7am every day! Good location that is close to shopping and good. I would stay here again.

The staff was polite and attentive. The housekeeping staff gave us clean towels and tidied up the room daily. The lighting was poor in the main area. One blackout shade couldn’t be pulled down and one fell completely the third morning we left. Also, the bathtub was slippery an had no bath mat. There were handles to grab.

It was just ok. Cleanliness was acceptable. The bed looked like a King but it felt too soft and thin. There is a restaurant on the premises. You are close to a shopping center where you can have breakfast (there's an IHOP..but the IHOP wasn't good lol). Anyways, the tv kept scrambling and I saw that someone mentioned it on another review. Believe it. Their cable connection needs to be improved. Since I was there overnight, I didn't call the front desk I told her in the morning.

I tried to check in on June 22, or at least get a hotel after a long trip but no one was there to help me, I waited more than 15 minutes to check in and no one shows up, I walked the lobby asking for help, and nothing so I had to make another reservation at another hotel, losing the money I spent at this hotel. I called the front desk and this rude person named Kidy was extremely unprofessional, paying no attention to what I was saying, I had to repeat 5 times what I was saying and she continued asking What is your question. I asked to speak with someone else because she could not acknowledge what I was saying, I requested to talk with someone else and she raised her voice saying she was the only one. 😔 unacceptable

Room service did not happen on second day of stay despite requesting specific room service with the front desk clerk. Only two bath towels were provide on that day. Had to request room cleaning service again at the front desk. Upon check out was charged for two breakfast meals despite only having 1 breakfast meal. Front desk agent removed charge for second breakfast meal.

Was informed on arrival that King Bed Room we had reserved had an A/C issue and had moved us. I didn't want a Double Double and Rosemary was not helpful, or willing to provide any other solution or discount. Had to ask for a Manager who ended up doing so.

I came to Silver Spring to visit friends and catch a concert, and I really enjoyed my stay at the Hilton Garden Inn White Oak. The staff was excellent from start to finish. Rose Mary at the front desk went above and beyond when my delayed luggage finally arrived late in the evening — she was kind, patient, and so helpful. I also had a wonderful breakfast experience thanks to the lovely woman at the counter (I regret not catching her name), who shared some laughs with me over my love for iced coffee. Those small, personal touches made my stay feel extra welcoming. The property was clean, the bed was very comfortable, and the AC kept my room perfectly cool. I also appreciated that the grounds felt relaxed and easy to walk around, offering quiet spots to unwind without bothering anyone. If I had to mention one thing, the bathroom could have been a little fresher, but it didn’t take away from the overall comfort of the room. Overall, this was a great stay with excellent service, and I’d happily come back next time I’m in the area.

Checkin person was inexperienced and gave us a lot of inaccurate information and then double charged me for the room which I had already paid for through Expedia. Made us wait almost 30 minutes to check in and didn’t know what she was doing. Created 3 reservations in the system when I already had one through Expedia. Horrible experience and thankfully I caught the mistake at checkout and asked about otherwise I may have not noticed I was charged again and a much higher rate than I paid on Expedia. Worst experience ever!

I felt that the attention paid to me for questions that I was asking about my stay with the front desk were handled very poorly. Additionally, when I asked for my bill, I was told that because I made the reservation through a third-party she could not tell me the bill, or Jane to stand. But she certainly could’ve told me the cost of my incidentals for which I gave her a credit card. Additionally, I was told when I made the booking that breakfast was included I had breakfast, and then I was charged $30. As a Hilton Honors member for many many years, I was very disappointed with this day I am currently at another Hilton Garden Inn in North Carolina, and will be in another tomorrow in South Carolina. So the stay yesterday was extremely disappointing .

The staff was exceptionally helpful. Our son had developed COVID while on a trip to the west coast and we needed an extra night, but the hotel was sold out. Somehow, the staff managed to find us a room on property. The hotel is in walkable distance from an IHop, a Five Guys, an excellent Asian restaurant, a Panera, a Fridays, and a sub shop. It is a few minutes from a new Adventist hospital, and adjacent to Route 29 which takes you into downtown Silver Spring. There you can access the Metro and get to anywhere in the DC metro area. It is also minutes away from the Intercounty Connector, which gets you in minutes to Bethesda and Rockville, and I-270 north to Frederick or Baltimore. It's close enough to I-95 to get you to BWI airport in about 25 minutes.

Upside: The hotel staff were amazingly friendly and the hotel was nice for the most part. Downside: Almost $14.00 for a crummy breakfast, PER person. What a joke. Thank goodness there was an IHOP almost right in the hotel parking lot. I think next time I’ll make sure to stay at a hotel with free breakfast.

I won't stay here again. At check in I asked the clerk where the pool was, he said it's closed for maintenence. This should've been on their website since this is an amenity I chose the place for. I then asked him what time Breakfast was and he said for the weekends it's from 7 to 10. We came down Saturday morning for breakfast only to find out that it costs close to 20 dollars per person to eat Pre-Cooked warmed up food. I was able to walk around the corner to IHOP and get food made to order for less money. At checkout, I walk to the desk, the clerk held his hand out for the keys, then looked at me and said you're all set. He ever thanked me for staying never asked me how am I stay was. This place is not a place for anyone that's looking to be treated like a customer.

My wife & I checked in, were given keys - but the battery in the room door lock did not work. We were given another room - the keys worked. One sheer shade was pulled all the way down, one was all the way up, both blackout shades were all the way down. The shade motors did not work, a facilities engineer came to the room saying the motors routinely needed to be reset. After trying to reset the motors he stated that they needed to be replaced - we did not see another facilities engineer during our two day stay. The front desk gave us complimentary passes to the breakfast buffet ($14.00 each) - the buffet was no better than the free breakfasts we had received at other hotels. We went to dinner one night and were told they had no salmon (almost a third of the menu items involved salmon). We ordered drinks but were told they had no Kahlua. My wife ordered a glass of red wine which was delivered to the table, but when she explained her historical connection to the winery we were informed they did not have the wine she had ordered and a different red wine was substituted, but they did not charge us for the wine. I was deeply disappointed with our stay.

Rooms we're okay but it is a bit small, also the rooms are overpriced for the value proposition. Dining was next to non-existant and to eat real food you must leave the premises. Yes, they have food but it's very limited.

I like that the staff was friendly and nice. I liked that the room and areas of the hotel was well-kept and clean. I did not like that there was no room service available as advertised, which is the reason I chose this hotel due to a recent surgery and did not want to have to move much. Otherwise, it was a nice stay.
