Stylish boutique hotel near a convenient metro stop from which you can access the Sagrada Familia and the meeting points for any tours you might book. You can also walk to many places in 20 minutes. The service was excellent. Be sure to ask for recommendations from the front desk. My only minor notes: The gym is tiny so if that's important to you, stay at a larger hotel. Also, the elevator makes a clacking sound when it goes up and down. It was a minor distraction that stops late at night.

A fantastic place! Right in the heart of everything, but completely quiet, restful, and very well-appointed. The counter staff are superb, and the room was wonderful. Everyone treated us like we were royalty, including the bartender in the fantastic rooftop bar -- which, oddly, closed halfway through our visit. It's a shame, as that's a great space, but the rest of the hotel is wonderful too, and highly recommended.

I absolutely loved this hotel, the staff was amazing, the room was great and the roof top bar was the icing on the cake. The location was on La Rambla and I was not happy with the area however it was a god sent to have a safe place to go to and the staff went above and beyond to keep us safe. About the staff...they were absolutely amazing, each one of them offered to help us. From recommending restaurants to booking a show and the icing on the cake was them brining me coffee while I watched the sunrise! We have stayed in hundreds of hotels and I would consider this one exceptional. The rating for the location is off because I did not want it to impact my review of the hotel. Go! See! Do!

Our room was was rather small, with not much closet space. they did not provide luggage rack so we had to use chair for luggage, with minimum closet we had to live out of luggage. and surprise, there was no window in our room, rather unusual. There was a great roof top lounge with great views. location was very good and staff knowlegable and helpful. Found us a great resturant. I would stay ther again.

The hotel is beautiful, period. The staff were very helpful and friendly. We had an issue with our air conditioner not working our first night, and was a little frustrated how long it took to get someone to look at it (request investigation five times), we then moved to the room next door and it was fine. Other than that the rooftop is gorgeous with great views and pool. We loved the artifacts on the first floor and the rooms were especially large (in comparison to Lisbon and Madrid). Appreciated the complimentary beverages. The wait staff at breakfast remembered us each morning and made our contributes to our morning starting great.

Excellent location right on the Ramblas. Everything looks new and well maintained. Friendly staff and try to help in everything. The spa is small and disappointing.

Hôtel parfait (belle chambre, très propre, service impecc) et parfaitement situé (la Place de Catalunya, où arrive la navette de l'aéroport, Aerobus, est juste à côté) sur les Ramblas. Le soir, la rue peut être bruyante, mais il y a un double vitrage. Station de métro (Liceu) à deux pas. Le marché La Boquéria est aussi juste à côté (pratique pour grignoter un truc). Pas testé le petit-déj, mais il avait l'air très bien.

Not comfortable. TV in wrong position compared to bed. The sink and bath tub stoppers only allowed for water to fill. If you wanted the water to drain you had remove the stopper. My husband almost killed himself in the bathtub. It was so slippery. The hotel was not a five star hotel experience ce. BTW, I stayed from the 1-4 of January and left my ring on the dresser by accident. no one has called me to let me know. Diamond ring with wedding band.

The service is very nice. Hotel is close to subway. Room is very clean and tidy. Decoration is beautiful. Free Wi-Fi. They provide luggage register service after checkout. Will book again next time and highly recommend.

Bel hôtel idéalement situé, personnel très attentionné et sympathique. Dommage que certains petits détails de fonctionnement et l’état de quelques équipements de confort gâchent un peu le tableau. Rien de dramatique et facilement solutionnables pour justifier les 5 étoiles Mais je recommande sans problème cet établissement pour tous ses autres atouts

Great helpful staff! Outdated tiny room, definitely not 25sq.m. Black mould in the shower, strong toilet smell in the bathroom. Road repair in front of the hotel with a lot of dust and noise.

Truly the worst experience in the past years! We booked this 5-star hotel for our 3-night stay in Barcelona and were so deeply disappointed. After traveling the world for the last 20 years, I know what a 5-star hotel should be able to offer. Bed After a long day, we wanted to rest in the bed and noted that the bed was a standard bed size. This means that, as a 180 cm person, I had my complete feet in the air over the edge of the bed. The width is also far from normal, not enough space for two people to sleep relaxed. Beware, when moving, you will hear the springs and bedframe noises. Construction Noise The location at the Ramblas is good. Unfortunately, construction noise directly at the hotel meant relaxing during the daytime in a 5-star hotel was not possible. TV While wanting to distract from the construction noise, we wanted to enjoy a movie. This was not possible due to the TV not having a connection. The called service employee could not fix the issue. Refund After elaborating at hotel reception, no solution was presented. Very unfriendly and impolite management. Still trying to claim a refund, but Hotel Bagues and Expedia both don’t seem responsible. Each party tries to blame the other. Facit We spent $1000 for a miserable hotel and had to rebook a new hotel to be able to sleep normally. This 4-star hotel cost an additional $500. Hotel Bagues should not have a 5-star rating—3 max. Expedia, you should take better care of long-time customers—you have lost us

Hotel Bagués was outstanding. The hotel team were friendly and so helpful, nothing was too much. The room was perfect, great view of Las Ramblas and amazingly quiet once the doors were closed! The roof top bar area was beautiful. I would definitely stay here again!

Excellent location (city center on the Rambla avenue, very close to Plaça de Catalunya) with easy access to restaurants, shops and entertainment. Very pleasant boutique hotel (30 rooms) with nice and caring personnel and efficient room service. The superior room was relatively small, the queen size bed also quite small for tall persons, pillows were too soft/uncomfortable and we really regretted the lack of smart TV. Even if the room was oriented towards the noisy Ramblas, the windows were efficiently protecting from the outside noise. However, the room is not correctly isolated from the inside noise (hallway). The bathroom was nice (no bath).

This hotel is dark and depressing. We got the superior double and were put in a room on floor 1 which had a sliver of a window. Very sad and depressing - not how you want to enjoy Barcelona. When we asked for a better room we were told there were only suites left which they couldn't give us even though it was 10pm and no chance anyone else was going to arrive. The whole experience was uninviting. There are so many other places to stay in Barcelona that are light, welcoming, and make you happy. This hotel is the opposite! Avoid it.

Truly the worst experience in the past years! We booked this 5-star hotel for our 3-night stay in Barcelona and were so deeply disappointed. After traveling the world for the last 20 years, I know what a 5-star hotel should be able to offer. Bed After a long day, we wanted to rest in the bed and noted that the bed was a standard bed size. This means that, as a 180 cm person, I had my complete feet in the air over the edge of the bed. The width is also far from normal, not enough space for two people to sleep relaxed. Beware, when moving, you will hear the springs and bedframe noises. Construction Noise The location at the Ramblas is good. Unfortunately, construction noise directly at the hotel meant relaxing during the daytime in a 5-star hotel was not possible. TV While wanting to distract from the construction noise, we wanted to enjoy a movie. This was not possible due to the TV not having a connection. The called service employee could not fix the issue. Refund After elaborating at hotel reception, no solution was presented. Very unfriendly and impolite management. Still trying to claim a refund, but Hotel Bagues and Expedia both don’t seem responsible. Each party tries to blame the other. The staff at Hotel Bagues was amazing. They were so kind and attentive. The hotel was centrally located, so it was easy to get to business meetings, go to the beach, or take a walk in the Gotic area. I would definitely stay there again.

Wonderful welcome. Feel safe and secure. Lovely atmosphere from the start. Yusef greeted us and was so kind. Even changed our room on meeting us as thought another suit better! Sweets and umbrellas provided! Beautiful little art nouveau display great spiral staircase with super decor. Was so much better than the larger chains and staff were proud of the hotel. The doorman who had Saturday off so we could not say goodbye was also a. Ray of sunshine. Marjeritas lovely.

The front desk staff was awesome. In particular Augustine and Rosanne (sorry if I got the names or spellings wrong.) were exceptionally helpful with recommendations for restaurants, places to visit and directing me me to a good nearby gym - The Holmes Place. The doorman was incredibly kind and welcoming. It was a nice touch with the bottle of champagne brought to our room and I loved the candy in the front lobby. Also, a great move to include the mini bar at no extra charge. You'd be surprised the positive impression doing such a nice gesture on your part wins acolades with guests. I will definitely be back to the Hotel Bagues with my wife in the next year or two. Wonderful experience.

Streets on the back side of the property are somewhat sketchy, but hotel itself resides in a very good/social/walkable/entertaining street/avenue/boulevard. My wife and I have enjoyed or two nights stay at this charming hotel.

Room was beautiful. Bed was very comfortable. Staff went above and beyond. If you asked where something was, they didn’t just tell you, they walked with you. Lovely touches… rose in the room, turn down service, bath salts, chocolates at bedtime, colorful candy at the entrance. Loved it!

This hotel was our choice for our honeymoon. The manners of the hotel staff are excellent, and it is a clean and distinctive hotel that suits Barcelona perfectly. The atmosphere is a bit different from other ordinary hotels, and we really liked that. Moreover, going up to the rooftop terrace in the evening and enjoying the beautiful scenery and sky made it even more delightful.

A fantastic place! Right in the heart of everything, but completely quiet, restful, and very well-appointed. The counter staff are superb, and the room was wonderful. Everyone treated us like we were royalty, including the bartender in the fantastic rooftop bar -- which, oddly, closed halfway through our visit. It's a shame, as that's a great space, but the rest of the hotel is wonderful too, and highly recommended.

The hotel offers a lot for a reasonable price. Besides the location, which is unbeatable, just on la Rambla, the property is very nice and elegant. The room was amazing, with some complimentary things. We had twice in-room meals and the quality was excellent. This was my second time there, I believe not the last one.
