We had a wonderful stay at Catalonia Plaza Mayor in Madrid. It’s centrally located so we were able to walk every where. We stayed on the fourth floor. Great room. King bed. Shower, no bath tub. Free WiFi. breakfast available for cost. Very clean rooms. Daily housekeeping service. They also offer laundry service. The ppl who work here are VERY very accommodating. The location of the hotel is also very convenient for walking. Oh! I almost forgot! They also have a hot tub & gym downstairs! The hot tub is open until 11pm. And the gym is 24 hours. It was a very nice experience. We absolutely would not hesitate to stay here again when we come back to Madrid!

My keycard would constantly malfunction, I had to go down to reception for a new keycard on multiple occasions. Also the water in the Jacuzzi is cold, and Hotel would not increase the temperature.

Desde el check in me dieron un upgrade lo cual agradezco, y la ATENCION SOBRESALIENTE de la srita ELENA en el gastrobar y del joven ENSO en el desayuno, ofreciéndome opciones (no puedo comer de todo lo rico que tienen en la barra, la cual toda era variada y surtida, hay de todo). La atención del Mostrador excelente y de los jóvenes que te reciben a la llegada, FREDO en particular. La LIMPIEZA en cuartos es impecable, toca que cuando estás más de 2 días en un hotel solo surten insumos y no limpian; pero aquí si. Regresaría sin dudar a Catalonia Plaza Mayor Hotel.

Travelled across the world in different continents. It's the first time I write a review . I was utterly disappointed by the hotel and service. The first night i was put in a room facing corridor . Heard the neighbours banging on their door till 4am .went downstairs to service said they couldn’t do anything for the night . To come back next day .he mentioned a room number that would be more favourable . Did not sleep . The next early morning , they told me that room was not available anymore. Went i asked the receptionist the name of the manager . I quote “ were all managers “ . Give me a break , Worse service ever . They showed me a room on first floor with an odour . At this point i just wanted to leave and not stay the 2nd day . Receptionist told me it was too late & that they took the pmt of 2nd night . They refused to refund it . They took me on top floor room , which was even worse in cleanliness and smell . Ended up sleeping in my siblings room that was more decent . Basically i paid for the 2nd night room for nothing .

Clean room that was made daily. Everything felt safe and secure. Quiet room with minimal noise from street and other guests. Would stay again. If you are thinking about stay next to Plaza Mayor can not beat this combo of price and quality.

I had a fantastic stay at this hotel! The entire place was spotless, and the cleanliness really stood out. The staff were incredibly friendly and welcoming, always ready to help with a smile. Property was good, but in our room the ac was broken didn’t work very well. At night it got very hot. Hair dryer in the washroom stopped working after using for 5 mins. Overall hotel was clean. We had a confusion in regards to booking date and we didn’t stay there the first night, when we talked to hotel they said to talk to Expedia and when we talked to Expedia they said it’s the hotel who is not doing anything. Being an international traveller and being on a budget trip and paying $481 CAD for nothing was not fun. We stayed at many hotels and they cooperated even with complementary breakfast. But Catalonia didn’t. It would have been nice to get helped or getting accommodated with something. It was very commercialized, I wouldn’t consider my stay as an exceptional experience.

This hotel is lovely and centrally located. We had some issues with our flights due to weather. hotels.com called to let the hotel know that we would be checking in a day late. We were hoping that we would not be charged since we had until that day to cancel and be reimbursed. Tue hotel didn’t allow us to do that for the one night we weren’t able to stay there. Maybe to some that isn’t a big deal but to me it would have been nice. Especially since we had until that day to cancel with full reimbursement. Other than that it was a nice hotel.

Excellent stay! The front desk lady, Veronica, was really sweet and nice. She accommodated us even giving us an early check in, this was a huge benefit as we were so tired and we there at around 8am, way before our check in time. I would highly recommend this hotel!

Very helpful staff. Clean, quiet room. Was able to get a massage booked in room via front desk help. 1 block away from Anton Martin Metro station, 2 stops from Atocha Train station so very easily accesible. A great neighborhood with loads of eating options. 15- minute walk to Reina Sofia Museum.

The location was absolutely amazing in the center. The staff could not have been more accommodating especially Juan the front desk representative. His quick thinking and fantastic personality made it even more amazing. The well served bar attended by Gregory could not ask for anything more. Just perfect. The breakfast options are superb. Will recommend in a heart beat and will be back.
