The AC didn’t work, I had to leave the balcony door open and that resulted in lack of sleep since it is quite noisy outside. The bathroom smelled a bit like sewer. The location and restaurant was fantastic, but they need to let their guests use the AC, even when it’s cold outside, Puerta Del Sol is very busy and the clock is a bit loud and sounding off every hour, good thing I brought some Nyquil.

The property is excellent. The only negative is that taxis are not able to reach it because the city has turned the entire area into a pedestrian zone. Very inconvenient for disabled people.

FYI- cars cannot drive to this hotel. It is approximately 1/2 mile from the drop off location to the hotel so if you are traveling with a mobility limited person this may be a challenge. Otherwise it was a great hotel and customer service.

The location is perfect for the tourist but There is no parking in this facility. We parked 6 minutes walking distance underground parking lot in Mayor street. It is acceptable. The room is reasonable space for a family of four. The price is reasonable as well.

The staff was excellent! Very helpful, any request was answered immediately and correctly, the cafe/ restaurant downstairs was convenient, the laundry service excellent, quiet room, plenty of hot water. I was a solo traveler and I felt safe and comfortable there

Our room was spotless, it had a renovated bathroom and bedroom, both which were a little larger than we’d expected from the photos. Our balcony on the 3rd floor overlooked the side street and down into the Puerta del Sol. The windows were soundproofed, though being right in such a busy area we could still hear some of the noise outside, I had no trouble sleeping through it though. The buffet breakfast (€15pp) was good. The staff were very helpful and friendly. We would be very glad to stay here again in the future. Great property in a great location.

Stayed three nights at the end of a Camino walk. The location was excellent; steps from the commuter train stop, walking distance to major and less major attractions. The room was clean, large and comfortable. We initially were assigned an interior room, but on request were given a room with view of the plaza, busy and probably a bit noisier, but good windows/balcony doors kept the noise down to a reasonable level.

Room ok for a 3 star hotel. Second night half the towels and bedding has been taken but not replaced. However biggest issue was noise from the street and plaza. Noise all night so sleep almost impossible. No way is it a quiet hotel as advertised. Make sure you don't get a room overlooking plaza or street

We had a good stay with our two teens. Staff were really friendly and helpful. Hotel is right in the city centre. Everything is walking distance. Perfect location for a short trip. Can be bit noisy at night until late morning. They have got double glazed windows to block the sound. If you are a light sleeper then skip this place. Only thing is the condition of the hotel is bit outdated. Although we had a newly built room the bathroom was very dark and dingy. Family room is quite big. Definitely recommend for the location it is situated.

Fantastic location and easily walkable to many sites. Active area, but great soundproofing in the rooms. They were doing some maintenance/touchup while we were there so had to navigate around paint and ladders, etc. But overall the staff was very nice and accommodating, and held our baggage when we arrived early. Attached Restaurant/Cafe was very convenient for coffee in the morning and drink/tapas in the evening. My room had a few unsightly dings and scratches but overall was very clean and comfortable. I would definitely recommend this property, especially for the reasonable price and great location.

Ideal location, and beautiful hotel with comfortable, clean rooms and great service. Nice restaurant with great food and wine. Conveniently located at Plaza Mayor in the heart of Madrid. Rooms are very soundproof, considering the noisy location. If you want a quiet night of sleep, get an interior facing room. Rooms overlooking the plaza have a nice view, but are noisier throughout the whole night because the city never sleeps. However, this hotel does a much better job of soundproofing with thicker walls and windows than other hotels in the area. Service is impeccable and everything is well appointed. The bathroom, especially is spacious with an updated shower that has consistent hot water and excellent water pressure. Nice bath products too.

This hotel was very basic and lacked many amenities that you would find in 2 or 3 star hotels. The room was very tiny even for 2 people. The internet was not reliable at all. However, the location and staff were excellent.

The property is in a convenient location to walk to shops/restaurants. The staff are friendly However, the room is in the 60s and the free WiFi did not work in the room(only in the lobby). The sound insulation is minimal so you will hear the sound from other rooms as well as from the window.

Great location, right in the middle of everything. The room was clean and comfortable. The staff was amazing! I unfortunately injured myself on the trip and they provided assistance and accommodations that were very helpful. We would definitely stay here again if in Madrid.

Me gusto la localidad y el Personal del Hotel. Me disgusto el trato recibido en el cafe (exterior) del hotel. Cenamos (Esposa, Hija y yo) y mi hija quizo tomar un postre de una heladeria del frente. Lo compre pero el moso no permitio que ella lo consumiera con nosotros en la mesa. Tuve que terminar la cena e irme para que ella pudiera disfrutar del helado con nosotros. Me parecio increible la forma y manera de administrar dicha Politica con huespedes del hotel que estan consumiento en sus facilidades. Fue verdaderamente desepcionantes. Deben readiestrar al personal en ese aspecto.

The treatment from the staff alone deserves a 6 stars. They were so welcoming and escorted us to the room; helped with our bags; and even carried the bag for us to the Main Street, in order to pack them in the taxi. The room was cozy & surprisingly quiet considering it’s location. Honestly, I can’t say enough good things about it. 20/10 in my book.

Property location is central to everything . Easy access metro, shopping, dinning and activities . It is a lively place. Over night the streets are clean up. Hotel was clean, staffs are very nice and helpful. I would definitely stay at hotel Europa again!!

There is no other hotel in Madrid quite like Hotel Europa- it offers the best location (right next to Puerta del Sol) and the best value for what you pay. This is the small hotel that has everything you need to make a visit to Madrid unforgettable! This is a unique boutique hotel in the heart of Puerto del Sol. So much to walk to and see. The staff was super helpful and arranged transportation to the airport for us. We used the restaurant a couple of times which was convenient. Walked to everything from that location. Because its in the heart of everything, it can be loud at night. Not continuous, but there were moments. It didn't bother us at all, but if you're a light sleeper and don't like a lot of action, this may not be your place.

This property is in the most amazing location. It is city center-literally. The Plaza it is on is the literal center of Spain. We walked one way 20 min and the other 20 min and covered the major attractions easily. We didn’t have any problems with noise, even having a window on the plaza. The breakfast was incredible. The staff was very helpful with our parking and location of parking.

This hotel has a great location, in the very center of Madrid and we really enjoyed staying there, also we enjoed to eat in this hotel’s restaurant, they served a really nice steak and vegetable soup, a glass of wine was absolutely amazing and service as well.

The hotel was in a great location for getting to restaurants and tours. The room was very lean, but very small. The staff (house-cleaning and front desk) were very good. The breakfast was significantly overpriced for what was offered, and it was not that good compared to the other 5 hotels we stayed at while visiting Spain. I would not recommend the breakfast as you can find better options near the hotel.
