Very cool historic building boutique hotel, nicely renovated with comfortable rooms and a gorgeous throw-back lobby with a bar, coffee bar and comfortable seating. Hosts one of Kansas City’s excellent fine dining restaurants, The Town Company. Parking is not optimal with the best option being valet service, and downtown KC street and plaza construction poses navigation challenges. Still a great downtown hotel option and an easy walk to convention facilities or conferences at e.g., the Marriott.

The room was very spacious and clean. The bed was comfortable and I appreciated the blackout curtains! The details throughout the hotel really connect with the hotel's past- it is gorgeous. The only downside is that the bar and food service closed at 10, and was very limited. There were no other options on site for grab and go (at least that I could find).

I got bumped from the room I reserved. I got a food credit for this, but the menu at the lounge bar/restaurant was very limited. Only one of the two elevators seemed to be working, which resulted in long waiting times for the elevator. Overall nice place, but I probably wouldn’t stay again for the price I paid.

Easy walking distane to power and light. Wish it had a hot tub. Very nice bed and rooms. Also had a speak easy type bar hidden in basement open till 3am which was vintage. Pricey but worth it.

For the cost, this room was just okay. Everything felt damp in the room and the vents and fixtures in the room and hallways were very dusty. We used the valet service and when we tried to get the car out for dinner, there was nobody at the front desk on a saturday night and no sense of order with the valets. We waited at least 5 minutes to try to give the ticket to a valet to pull the car and couldn't get any valets to acknowledge us so we took the kids and walked to dinner. Customer service wasn't overly friendly and besides check in and check out there was zero interaction with staff. I wish we would have stayed somewhere else.

Staff at front desk and valet were very friendly. We had a bartender who seemed annoyed we were there. The room was mid. Slept well, but the black tile in the bathroom and shower showed a lot of stains and watermarks that made it look unclean. The lighting in the bathroom was not great. Not worth the price we paid at all, but the location is very convenient. I won’t be booking here again, though.

We arrived at 2:30, check in isn’t until 3 and they didn’t have our room ready so we sat at bar. Meanwhile, 3:00 came and others were checking in and going straight to room. Finally at 3:20, bartender offered to help and checked on status. He said we could get a room now or wait for assigned room. We took the room that was ready. Upon opening the door, we were hit with a terrible mildew smell. I sprayed air freshener and we dealt with the smell since we had to wait before, we figured it would take a while to get another room. Went to dinner and concert but returned to same overwhelming mildew smell. The style of our king room was fine, kitschy modern but the size was very small. Valet parking was $42.

Check in was rough due to them letting someone have a late check in. So we spent 30 min waiting for our room even though we were checking in at 4pm. Also those were the hardest beds I have ever slept on. Rock hard. The rest of the room was beautiful. Loved the location too

The food & coffee at the lobby counter were excellent! Overall the hotel is wonderful and in a centrally located area for low-cost Lyft rides anywhere in town. The one downside of this hotel is the design of the bathroom. There is zero privacy for the toilet, even though it is off to the side (no door). This results in the bathroom being accessible to only one person at a time if privacy is desired.

Passing through while on a road trip, so our stay was short and a place to rest our heads. The only items of concern we’re coincidently in the place we likes the most, The bathroom. The bathroom is beautiful and amazing and is easily noticeable how much effort and time went into designing the space. However, The bathroom fan/vent wasn’t working, causing the bathroom to over steam and get wet or on the opposite have residual odor if someone used the bathroom. Also the shower knob to turn on the water seemed to be missing the little screw because when I went to turn the knob it fell off when it was upside down. That’s all that we found concerning. I would like to know where you purchased the body wash, shampoo, and hand soap as it was amazing! This is not your typical items and we were blown away on how great they smelled and how felt.

This is an excellent hotel. The rooms are amazing. I’ve never been in a hotel that have wooden floors and double doors that go into the bathroom. The only drawback is that there are no grab bars in the shower or by the toilet and it makes it difficult if you have a disability. Otherwise I would stay here again.

Location great, on the 11th floor it was loud and noisy, windows are thin, rooms are over priced and need to be updated. Too dark and depressIng. Will not return. Shocking to think on top a hefty price for the room, it was 35 to park/day.

This is a fantastic hotel. It feels very boutique like. The staff is over the top and the rooms are super comfortable. My only suggestions are to improve the lighting in the bathrooms and add a full length mirror in the rooms. Those two items would push it to 5 all around!

Beautiful hotel with 5 star service and amenities. Located in the power and lights district. Valet was excellent and customer service was outstanding. Highly recommend. Will definitely stay here again! We had a loft room on the 14th floor. Excellent views and amazing and gorgeous room!

Booked hotel 3 months in advance for family wedding and was very excited to stay there. When landed at DFW connection had VM from Hotel KC that they no longer had a room for us but had booked us in a neighboring hotel. Called that hotel and was told we did NOT have a reservation. Short layover and was unable to book a hotel before next flight. Arrived in KC at 9:30 p.m. with no hotel reservation. 57 years old and have never had this happen. Find another place.

We arrived right at 3PM to check in and waited for around 2 hours to get into a room. The room we reserved was not ready and after waiting, I decided to ask how much longer it would be and staff was unsure. First time staying at this hotel and the delay kept us from what we had planned to do the day of.

There was a conference going on. All the bars onsite closed at 11 p.m. The hotel pumped some sort of vanilla scent throughout the hotel that made me a little sick. Additionally, no valet was available when we showed up- they were all on their phones. The bed also is not the most comfy- I'd stay elsewhere in KC if I were you!

We came into town to go to a concert at the T Mobile Arena. This hotel was excellent. The location was perfect and the amenities/service were outstanding. I want yo give a shout out to Nicholas who was phenomenal!

Great atmosphere, unique aesthetic (including the long six-story chandelier in the stairwell and the incredible stained glass wall in the Tudor Room). Nice to be downtown, near the free tram, with easy access to Broadway Blvd. Wonderful valet staff for car parking/retrieval. Construction all over the place around the hotel, but that's not their fault.

This is a fantastic hotel w/LOTS of original charm. The rooms have been tastefully updated,but the original “vibe” remains. The area around the hotel is great,with lots of dining options within walking distance…We will definitely be back!

Due to the downtown location of the hotel and road construction, it was really tricky to get to the hotel and find parking. Really only valet parking was an option. It wasn't the hotel's fault, just inconvenient.

I had an outstanding dinner last night at the hotel. Staff could not be nicer. Not the greatest location for travel with a dog as there are very little grassy areas for tinkles.

I stayed here this past weekend for Planet Comicon and overall it was a positive experience. The staff were friendly and accommodating, the room was clean, the bed was comfortable, and it was a nice short walk to the convention center. However, there are was one big thing that bothered me, the food. I paid $25 including taxes and fees to have breakfast delivered to my room, and when I opened the box, I was disappointed in the portion size. A small pile of scrambled eggs, a sausage that couldn't have been more than two inches across, a hashbrown block about the same size as the sausage, and a couple pieces of toast. The taste was fine but it didn't fill me up as much as the asking price implied it would. I do recommend staying here, but make sure you have your own food and drinks to keep in the fridge.

Upon arrival we were enamored with the character and architecture of this building. It was a beautiful hotel. The staff was extremely helpful and friendly. The room was very comfortable. The restaurant food was delicious and our sever Keisha was personable and very attentive. Highly recommend and would definitely stay here again

Only 4 starts because when ordering rooms service, the food for horrid. I order the tator tots with all the toppings and I was missing several toppings, and the food came late and cold. The next morning I ordered fench toast for my girls, and the french toast was way under cooked and extra soggy.

We enjoyed our 2 night stay at Hotel Kansas City. From the moment we arrived the staff were friendly and accommodating. The Hotel itself was beautiful and easy to get to. We opted for Valet parking and it was a breeze. Check in/out was easy and quick. The restaurant in the hotel was delicious and the bar had a very cool vibe and the drinks were amazing.

Beautiful, historic building. Lobby is gorgeous. Staff very friendly and attentive. Coffee, pastries and breakfast/lunch items to-go avail for purchase in lobby. Very convenient if you're heading to nearby convention center. Night club below and lovely but pricey restaurant. This very classy hotel has everything! Loved our stay.

The staff was super friendly and the hotel was clean, but I was very disappointed with the room itself. I paid more for a corner room and it fell short in many ways. Only one window instead of the advertised corner views (which was overlooking construction too). The bathroom doors didn’t fully close. The shower water pressure was too low and the temperature was way too hot. The toilet made a very loud, high-pitched noise for about 3 minutes after flushing each time. The wall art is creepy and discomforting. The corner room had one small table with no other furniture, while other rooms at least had a sofa at the end of the bed. Also, water/ice machines on the even floors don’t work and the hallway lighting is in disrepair. All that combined with $45 nightly parking was a disappointing experience!
