This was an absolute dream for us!! We were in town for the Cardinals game and stumbled upon this hotel via Expedia. It is definitely a 10/10 🙌My husband is a cigar smoker so the cigar bar was a VERY pleasant surprise. The bed was comfortable, the shower pressure was on point, the staff was awesome - shout out to Dave the bartender on the 4th floor. My husband also loves classy places so the fact they had a dress code in the restaurant was icing on the cake. The food was also super good. We would definitely stay again.

Beautiful old building and hotel. Parking right by the hotel $25. Right where we wanted to be. Be aware getting off the interstate and to the hotel can be delayed by traffic for The Dome.

The building is charming and very old. The lobby is amazing. The rooms are small and dated. My air did not work properly and I had to bring a fan in from work in order to be comfortable enough to sleep. The gym, pool, and locker rooms were top notch. The Jack Buck has fantastic food and nice ambience. It costs a pretty penny to park in their lot which was hardly full. I probably would not stay here again and opt for a chain hotel.

Kind of uncomfortable vibe to the stay. Staff we very stiff and did not make the place feel welcoming. Shower drain was clogged and toilet flushes so hard that it sprays water out of the toilet. Luckily this was the cheapest 3 star hotel by the river.

Place was really unique, very old. Was quiet at night, no running around which was nice. Enjoyed our stay, only thing that could be improved is cleaning the ceiling fan, the dust was so thick it was crazy. My allergies are horrible so not only was staying in an old building hard on me but all the dust was not helping. Overall we enjoyed our stay.

Room was clean except for the carpet, which had some stains. Wish there had been no carpet. Could use some updates. The shower was very small. Difficult to move around. Through no fault of the hotel, downtown St Louis is extremely noisy. All day and all night, there are constant loud cars racing through the streets. Ear plugs suggested.

Grand old hotel that is a step back in time. The hotel itself is worth exploring with its special spaces devoted to its history. Prime location within steps of Archway Park and less than half mile from Busch Stadium. But you don’t have to worry about walking to the latter because the hotel provides a shuttle to and from games. Walls are a bit thin in the rooms but they are comfortable and clean. Highly recommend it to anyone.

Only thing that popped out as being bad was the $30 for parking was unexpected, we had 4 people in our room but yet only 2 towels. The room was a little hot and couldn't really tell how to put the air on, but the fan helped. Very nice that you could walk to the arch and ballpark. Downstairs was super nice.

This is a facility with a great location and stunning public spaces. In the rooms, though, it shows its age. The small desk had an old and somewhat rickety chair, the bathroom had peeling paint and it would have been easy to fall in the bathroom, as the tub bottom was slick, there was an odd step up to get into the bathroom, and there was no ventilation. The biggest issue was heat. It was in the 40s outside but the small, old radiator barely brought out heat. Maintenance came but said there was little they could do. I went to bed early because at least I could be warm under the blankets. Definitely needs an updated thermostat and heat system. The room was so dark that I had to use my phone flashlight to try to see the wall controls! I would not stay here again.

The rooms are a little tight, but still cozy. Good amenities, walking distance of some great food and activities. Really friendly staff. We had a little parking snafu but they listened to our concern and made things right. They do the customer service well here, and we had a pleasant stay!

Check in at 5:35 game at 6:15 and we stood for 15 minutes while staff was on the phone. Totally ignored us, made us late to game as we missed shuttle and had to walk briskly to Busch Stadium

The MAC was very clean and the interior architecture & furnishings were top grade. Their gym facilities are the best I’ve ever seen at any hotel. One of the hotel front desk clerks was less than friendly— she seemed preoccupied with her phone— but all the other employees were very polite & friendly.

Staff was amazingly friendly and helpful. We arrived earlier than our check in time and were able to park in the garage AND check in early at this time. We were there for a concert and the staff was very helpful in navigating the area and giving us recommendations on places to grab a bit to eat prior to our event. Would highly reccomend!

Wished we’d read more reviews about the rather stuffy hotel. Receptionist was very abrupt and not welcoming at all. (Security guards had been wonderfully chatty however!). The fact that upon check in you are handed a card with what is appropriate to wear just did not make the stay a relaxed one. The rooms are also rather dated and had some very weird light fixtures. The internal hallway light took a while to work out how to turn off.

Beautiful, well kept property. Reasonably priced rooms. Delicious meals (we had 2 breakfasts and one dinner) reasonably priced. Lois at the front desk was very helpful, as was the rest of the staff. Shuttle service to the ball game was great! We weren’t able to control the temperature in our room was really the only glitch. We should have said something to the staff but we didn’t.

Very nice hotel overall but it is an older property so the rooms reflect an older style hotel. Very nice public area of hotel. Area around the hotel is run down with homeless people around. It is within walking distance of the Arch and baseball stadium.

The lobby area is stunning. Jack Buck's Grille and the breakfast restaurant had great food, drinks, service and ambiance. Fantastic location and the price could not be beat. The room however was a disappointment. It was dark, dingy, and so cold. No mini fridge for waters. No tub, only a shower. My biggest concern was that they advertise Queen beds, which are actually only full size. This is false advertising and when brought to the attention of the front desk I was told that those are what they call Queens. I am a 56 year old woman who was sharing the bed with my 77 year old mother and we were not comfortable at all. I purposely searched for Queen beds for this reason and felt misinformed.

The manager and waiters in the restaurant are very accommodating. Food was surprisingly very good ! We brought our friends to the lunch buffet ! We enjoyed our stay here . It’s safe , convenient to walk to the convention center. I’ll definitely stay here again. Thank you for the experience.

This is a beautiful old property that has old world charm. The Missouri Athletic Club was established in 1903 in an ornate property that was a bank before that. It has extensive wood work and down molding and takes you back in time to guest service and appreciation. The rooms are smaller but comfortable bed. Small bathroom and shower. The desk chair where I did my makeup has a cushion that needs replaced as it may fall through any time. We were there for the ballgame and there was a complimentary shuttle to the ballpark. We ended up walking the .6 miles back afterwards because the shuttle wasn’t there when we came out for all three games. The bar and grill was beautiful but one side allows smoking and the cigar smoke was pretty strong. There were smoke filters on the other side and they worked quite well. The front desk seemed understaffed and new employee could answer questions concerning the shuttle and never called back when we requested a one hour later checkout. The room was set to 65• when we checked in and the thermostat was operated by a second knob that we tried to adjust but ended up turning it completely off and couldn’t quite figure it out. There was a ceiling fan that made up fie it. There is so much character in there it made up for the shortcomings. A very nice stay and a venue that would be perfect for a wedding. Great ballroom with high pillars and high ceilings.

They did not serve breakfast in any of their cafes or restaurants in the morning of December 2nd. Yet they gave us a piece of paper saying that breakfast was served in the Sportsman's Club. Seems the front desk should have known that. The room we stayed in was small but adequate. However, they had painted over the bathroom tile and it was flaking off the wall badly. Did not make sense to paint over ceramic tile. I would not recommend this as an overnight stay unless necessary. One positive note: they had a fabulous toy train set up in the lobby with multiple trains and even a toy roller coaster. Great for kids at Christmas time.

An okay place if you like the 1940s. Small , very basic rooms. As a building built in 1915, it has an attractive but stuffy dark wood lobby and first floor, typical of a good old boys club from mid 20th century. The continental breakfast was quite pathetic. My room on the Washington Ave side was super noisy from the street noise and made it hard to get to sleep.. .
