Food at the restaurant was good. Bed comfort was not good, pillows were uncomfortable and they were not queen beds as stated. The outdoor lights were too bright and you had no control to shut the outdoor light off which made the room too bright. There was not enough lighting in the room to read or anything similar at night. Also there were no outdoor chairs where our room was located. Ice machine was not working our whole stay. Pool was shut down for most of the day on one of the days and the temperature in the pool was too hot when operating. The pool was also very small and falling apart. They did not clean our room, make the beds daily, or replenish coffee k cups/toiletries.

We booked a balcony room. It was on the third floor, and there were no elevators. Folks with mobility issues should be aware of this when booking. Our room had 2 double beds. One of them was very uncomfortable; it felt like the springs were poking through. It turned out the mattress was on upside down! We were thankfully able to flip it. The room was spacious with basic amenities, but lacked things like coat hooks or a closet. It was really clean except for the floor, which felt sandy from the start. My biggest complaint is that the property is lit up like an airport runway all night long. The room had blinds but no curtains, so our room was never dark. I ended up having to buy a sleep mask to be able to sleep in the room. Despite all of the above, we would stay here again. The proximity to the beach was fantastic (right across from a public access street). The pool on the property was also great. While we didn't eat at the on-site restaurant, it was frequently busy and the food I spotted there looked good.

Great family vacation spot, close to beach, trolley stops out front. Bar and pool are huge added bonus and live music til 8. Rooms are ok, the kitchen was a great upgrade. Beds and bathroom are basic but with young kids it made it easy. Staff very accommodating.

We have stayed here many times. It’s not a fancy place but usually we enjoy the pool daily after the beach. The pool was closed our first two days which was a major bummer. There was also no propane for the fire pits so we couldn’t use those either. AC was great and had a full fridge which I like. Keurig needs to be cleaned or serviced. Coffee grounds everywhere.

I didn’t like that they now have 3 gazebos taking up space in the pool area, that they charge extra per hour for guests to use!! Just put out more lounge chairs and maybe some umbrellas

We have stayed here every year for the last 4 years. The rooms are clean and spacious. Beds are comfortable and fridge and microwave were a plus. Walls are pretty thin so neighbor noise can be an issue. The Rumorz Restaurant onsite is convenient and has delicious food. We ate breakfast/lunch there everyday. Pool area is nice however not enough seats are provided around the pool. There are nice cabana beds if you want to rent $60 for 3 hours. Overall for the price its a great place to stay.

Rented a king suite for 6 people. Room and hotel space was wonderful. Right near the beach. Be aware if you drive in more than one car we were not able to get a second parking spot and had to park 1.2 miles away in an overnight lot for $80 a night. Extremely frustrating as the parking was clearly not enforced with numerous cars not displaying the parking sheet we were given for our one car.

Mold coming from ceiling in bathroom and kitchen. Oven hasn’t been cleaned… probably ever, smelled like old food. Dust on bedside table. No bed bug covers on mattresses. Left room and requested refund within 15 minutes of checking in. We are on day 5 and still haven’t heard if the manager will approve the refund.

When we arrived we immediately noticed a musty smell in our room, the ceiling tiles in the bathroom were falling down, hinges on bathroom door coming off. We went immediately to the office and there were no other rooms available. We were told someone would come the next morning to fix ceiling tiles no one showed. We went back again and the gentleman at the desk came himself to fix the tile which too over an hour and a half. Very disappointing

The only good thing with the place is that it is near the beach and another hotel that has a tiki bar on the beach. Other than that, it was dirty, tiles in the bathroom are broken and there’s no grout. The tub had mold and somebody else’s hair. The mattress was horrible, you could feel spring poking into you. The staff was not great as well.

Upon entering there was an intense musty/mildew smell. The room lights didn't work, there was no smoke alarm, leak stained ceiling tiles, and mold on the doors and in the casings. Could not stay due to unclean conditions.Only got half my money back.

My room had black mold!! Pool was dirty, rooms were dirty! Visible stains on sofa and bedding. The mound of trash at the dumpster was disgusting. The staff were nice but property should be condemned.

Room was not clean walking on the floor bear foot for a second would make your feet black. Sheets had interesting stains and hair from multiple people on it small black hair, strands of purple and blonde. Room was incredibly musty and damp trying to put the ac on just added to the dampness. One of the reasons for booking was the fire pits and grills on site was very disappointed to find out they removed them and put private cabanas which were out of place for the small pool they had. To top it off the person above us stomped around all hours of the night and the beds were so stiff that there was no way to be comfortable at night. Sorry to say but will not be coming back here only redeeming thing was the restaurant attached to the hotel. They were amazing and very delicious.

Our TV and the ice maker didn’t work! The towels had hair and the wash cloths had red/brown stains. The kitchen had no linens to dry, no hot mitts for oven, and only 1 coffee mug. The pillows, not pillow cases, were stained. The faux wooden floors were dirty. Parking is risky. The pool area was awesome! The beach was convenient! The area was quiet! There’s no elevator so hauling items was time consuming.

This was a great place to stay for our trip. My daughter loved the pool, and short walk to the beach! The little Bistro connected to the hotel made eating dinner easy. Didnt know that the room had a stove, full size fridge and sink, plus all the dishware and silverware ya would need. Had i known that i would've cooked a little bit, but next time i will. The staff was friendly, and rooms were super clean. The hotel is farther down OOB, and the beach was less crowded and flatter going down to the water. I would definitley reccomend this hotel to simple people and families with kids :) Also has a trolley stop that will take you down to the Pier and strip! Thanks for a great place to stay

We only stayed one night so didn’t get to explore or experience it too much. -Staff was very friendly at check in. - Room was big and comfortable. -Located right across the beach for quick access. Cons: - we paid extra for a balcony room which in our opinion was not worth it. Basically every room has a balcony anyway. And the balcony rooms all face into each other. Did not have an ocean view. - there is SO much light that comes through the windows at night. The rooms only have blinds and no curtains. Even at 2 am it feels like you have every light on in the room but it’s the lights they have on outside. Made for a very sleepless night for our entire family who is used to sleeping in the dark. - the pool was closed for the season when we got there to check in. A little disappointing that this is not something said at booking, since it is advertised as having a heated pool. - Beds were also very noisy and creeked at the slightest movement.

Nothing about this hotel stands out. While the employees are nice the accommodations are meh. Dated, spares and in need of a serious updating and revamp. Close access to the beach and shuttle buses. Bed was like a granite slab. Furnishings looked like something from a dorm room. If you are just looking for a place to crash it is ok. Do not expect anything other than the basics.

Very close to the beach. It was a nice quiet area and on the trolley line to take you to the Pier. Wi-fi didn't work as well as it could have and I had only a few bars on phone.

I was trying to explain it to the caller but he wasn't very happy something about needing to print a report out. Sorry that isn't my fault I gave the information to the person at check in. Then when we got back to our room around 9:30pm a fuse blew. called the office twice, waited 20 minutes then had to call again. Again they seemed like we were a inconvenience to them. Wifi wasn't working for anything Was an ok stay but really was hoping for a little better especially what we paid nightly.

For an older building, the room was not bad. The only suggestion I would have for the. Alcott view rooms is to put up curtains. The light from the Inns sign outside was so bright that even with the shades, kept our entire room lit up through the night. Ge there to check in before the office closes, otherwise they just put your name on an envelope with you room number and key cards in a mail box. I did not like that.

Not clean, not enough blankets or pillows for the bed/pullout sofa- office closed at 5 and we locked our self out of our room and no one could help us until then morning when it opened so one out of our two rooms we couldn’t use. The room we got locked out of had a broken AC and was so hot and smelled disgusting. The bathroom was so gross. Told management and was told “we don’t do refunds” The entire facility needs a facelift and some deep cleaning. Wouldn’t recommend and won’t be returning.

Upon arriving at the property, no one was in the office as it was 8:30 PM. The late arrival keys were left in a mailbox outside the office. Which is fine, however when arriving to our room after carrying all luggage and 2 small children, our key did not work in our door. In straight panic, I went to the bar and asked if they knew how to contact someone, of course they didn’t. But someone had a master key! So we were able to get into our room. But this meant we couldn’t leave again. Whatever, it’s late so no big deal. This issue wasn’t resolved until 330 on Saturday afternoon-meaning half my trip there was dealing with room keys. I am unpleased with this-as the door needed to be reset. But it took multiple times of trying different things before this was figured out. This was a MAJOR inconvenience for my family and we will probably not stay here again.

We arrived and got checked in. The keys to the room wouldn’t work. We went to the front desk again and waited a half hour for them to get us new keys. Tried them again and those didn’t work. The office lady had to come reprogram the door. So about and hour after we got there we were finally in the room. Then there was only 1 shade on the window so half the window was completely open allowing everyone walking by able to look in our room all night. Very disappointed and the staff wasn’t very friendly.

The staff were excellent from beginning to end. We had a small issue with our door locking and they came immediately and worked to fix the issue. We stayed in a suite and were pleasantly surprised by not only its size but also how clean and updated it was. We will definitely be back!

We had a great stay at the Grand Beach Inn. The restaurant had great food, and the service was pretty good, you could tell they were a bit under staffed sometimes, but that's everywhere. Loved the live music. The beds were a bit hard and noisy, could have used more pillows, but all in all a very wonderful stay. Loved the Trolley to the Pier, so we didn't have to worry about transportation once their. I would come back again!

This property is great for families, clean and has easy access to the beach. The Trolley picks up and drops off right at the hotel to travel in town to the Pier. It is not fancy but it has AC, kitchenette, balcony, pool, and on campus restaurant.

This was our 3rd time staying here. It’s always nice and convenient - a few steps from the beach and a quick mile walk to the pier. Definitely could use some upgrades, but it’s reasonably priced for a beach property.

The beach is right across the street! This place is a healthy walk from all the action. This means it has a sweet spot on the beach that isn’t crowded and has the pretty, soft sand. When booking this hotel I didnt realize how far the pier area was, but there is a trolley that runs 25 minutes after the hour picks you up right out front and runs every top of every hour to get back it is a $2.00 fee and you need the exact change but the restaurant on the site will give you change not to mention their food is very good and priced right. The beach is right across the street and the room we had was very spacious. Would stay there again.

The staff were very nice and the property was very clean. The rooms were spacious, although the beds need to be upgraded. They are older and not the most comfortable. But other than that, everything else was lovely. We also ate at the restaurant on site for breakfast and it was delicious. Would return again.

We enjoyed the kitchenette room with balcony. Room was clean and spacious. The bar and restaurant were great and convenient. I would recommend more beach chairs around the pool area. The cabanas were expensive and not being used.

We have stayed here every year for the last 4 years. The rooms are clean and spacious. Beds are comfortable and fridge and microwave were a plus. Walls are pretty thin so neighbor noise can be an issue. The Rumorz Restaurant onsite is convenient and has delicious food. We ate breakfast/lunch there everyday. Pool area is nice however not enough seats are provided around the pool. There are nice cabana beds if you want to rent $60 for 3 hours. Overall for the price its a great place to stay.

This is such a perfect location for a less crowded section of a lovely seven mile beach on the southern Maine coastline. The staff is helpful and friendly. There is an excellent restaurant opened year round, also with wonderfully friendly staff as part of this establishment, so you really can stay put and enjoy the ocean, directly across the street and not have to drive anywhere. We shall return (again!).
