Portobello By The Sea

Very clean room. However tricky to cart bags up 2 flights stairs no lift to room. Pool area good. Very noisy area though.

Pros: comfy beds, amazing shower water pressure, heated pool, large layout (had a 2 bdrm) with heaps of space, full kitchen all clean & working, super clean unit, fresh bedding, fast wifi, huge tv, restaurants cafes and IGA at your doorstep, right across the road from the beach. Cons: not many! No elevator & 3 flights of stairs can get old fast especially carrying bags. Wish there was an additional door chain/latch etc on the main door for security at night, not just a flimsy push button door handle lock. Would 100% stay again

This is not our first time staying here, great location walking distance to everything, units are a very good size with great underground parking. Looking forward to our next stay.

We loved how clean the rooms where. We had a 2 bedroom unit, close to the pool which the kids loved. So many options to choose from for dinners/lunches/coffee right outside. IGA store next door, beach and skatepark over the road. Safe locked up guest parking. Loved it here, will definitely stay again at Portobello.

Quite comfortable. Dislike: Although there's a lift there are still a number of stairs to negotiate to come and go and with bad knees it made it a little bit of an issue.

The location was the best part of our stay, a few minutes walk from the beach and directly below the property was an IGA and coffee shop and takeaways etc that were very convenient. the undercover secure car parking was great. The amenities and essentials inside the apartment were sufficient for what we needed for our stay for example the fully equipped kitchen, washer, dryer, aircon and fans. The tvs had lots of Chanel’s to choose from. We booked two apartments and requested they be next to eachother and they did just that which was great. What let this property down was how outdated it was and the condition it was in. The bathrooms especially. Mould all in the seals, cracked tiles and that made it feel unclean. The beds were relatively comfortable but there was no quilt on them just a thin sheet on the top. We later found some thick mink blankets in the closet but they were too hot to use when it was 26 degrees overnight. The property is not pram or disability friendly. There is an elevator from the carpark up to each level but then you still have to walk up stairs to your apartment. We had to walk up around 15 stairs with a toddler and young children which was less than ideal. We booked for the max guests per room but there weren’t enough towels or bedding provided for each guest. We later discovered the main couch was a pullout sofa but it was jammed and had a padlock on it so couldn’t be used. For the price we paid to stay here, I was a bit disappointed.

The only complaint that I had was the shower was over a Spa Bath and my husband could not have a shower for two days we stayed there. As he could not get in the Spa Bath.I should have asked for a disable room or at least a normal shower. Also the lift stops in the middle of the building and you then have steps to climb to get to your floor. Again not good for older people with bags to lift. Apart from that it was very good .

The property itself is outdated, which is okay. However the room we were in was not clean nor the stairwells around the apartment. Dust coming off the walls, bugs on the floor just to name a few.

Unfortunately I used the clean blanket from cupboard in the main room, only to find out the blanket was dirty in the morning, it clearly had been put away dirty, and unfortunately I then questioned the cleanliness of everything. Very sad because otherwise we were very happy.

Simple and clean, Great access to beach and Surf Club

It was clean comfortable and well serviced.

A good spacious apartment overlooking the pool. Beds comfortable and clean. Having 2 sofas was a bonus. Dishwasher was old, had to get assistance in opening it, just needed a good yank to open it. Other than that no issues at all. Would stay again.

We loved the apartment, it was very spacious. Beds were very comfortable, kitchen very well equipped. The only thing we didn't like was the view from our balcony - on a busy road.

The position of this hotel right across from the patrolled beach, playground, skate park, surf club, shops and restaurants is perfect for a Sunshine Coast visit. Our 2 bed unit was spacious, well equipped and comfortable. There is a fairly busy road between the property and the beach but paradise isn't always perfect.

The rooms were well appointed with all amenities you would need, especially for families. The staff were pleasant. It would have been nice for each adult to have their own room key. Location is ideal for beach getaway.

Fabulous stay. Didn't mind road noise. Just closed door at nite. Lovely tropical resort. I was surprised how nice AND practical. Great area I know well being local

Close to beach but no beach views. Good cafes within 15 mins walk, good walking paths. Room outdated and bit dirty. Window coverings allow to much light in for sleeping.

Booked a room then upon chekckin was told they had no rooms available. Spent the night trying tonstay warm behind a medical centre as they took the last of our money. Piss poor effort. Rude staff

Fantastic location, beautiful pool area and great sized apartment for our family. We could walk everywhere and there were great restaurants within 50 metres of our room.
