Modern, up to date hotel. Fantastic breakfast buffet. Staff very friendly and helpful, but not well versed in English which made confusing parking options difficult to understand. FYI there is no apparent place to park while checking in and no street parking allowed in the vicinity. However, there is a small area to temporarily park while checking in. If looking at the hotel from the train station across the street, there is a small parking area for loading/unloading to the left of the hotel on a smaller side street. There are two parking garages and one small lot for overnight parking in the adjacent blocks. We parked in the small parking lot named “Norte” which has a parking system unlike any I experienced. The instructions at the lot were all in Japanese and the hotel staff’s lack of fluency was not able to explain it to me. Fortunately I fortuitously bumped into a Japanese gentleman who was fluent in English who explained how the system works. The lot has no gates for entrance or exit. Instead there is a camera at the rear of each parking spot that takes a picture of the vehicle’s license plate. When leaving, one needs to enter the parking spot number into the machine on the lot. It will tell you how much is owed. In my case, for one night, it would have been 3000 yen if paying in cash. The machine also allows inserting a pre-paid ticket from a hotel. The Richmond charges 600 yen for the ticket. After inserting the ticket, the balance shown was zero.

It was a very comfortable stay in a clean and well-organized room. The breakfast was excellent, and the staff at the restaurant was very friendly. However, I would like to improve the inconvenience that the check-out was done using a self-machine. It took longer than the staff did.
