This motel was a great find. Having been recently renovated, our rooms were tastefully decorated and very clean. The bed and bedding were extremely comfortable and despite the noise from guests next door, we slept very well. We had a lovely view of the lake across the road, with great access to walking/cycling tracks, and parks with a fabulous coffee truck at the door. This will be our regular accommodation in the area from now on.

Relatively quiet location with a view of the bay. Nice ocean breezes. Easy to drive up to and park. I enjoyed all the amenities in the room such as a toaster, microwave, fridge and coffee maker. However, the carpet was not very clean and one of the pillow cases and duvet had stains on them. There was also not enough hanging hooks in the bathroom. The bathroom would also benefit from a little more counter space. The restaraunt next door was a little noisy at night.

The property was easily accessible, the room comfortable, in fact it was the most comfortable bed I’ve slept in while travelling. Parking is ok, but not really convenient if you have icy to load and unload from the car. The only other thing that annoyed me was the bathroom tap. It did not have full maneuverability as it kept hitting the mirror when trying to turn it.

Our room was spotless and very comfortable. The manager and staff were all very polite and helpful. The lake is across the road and a short walk along the lakefront to shops, cafes etc. Highly recommended!

The property was clean and very nicely renovated. It's close to everything Warner's Bay has to offer. The staff were friendly and efficient and the check-in / check-out process was very easy.

The stay was lovely, the room was very clean (there was a slight bleach smell that lingered) The pool was popular with the kids, and was beautifully maintained. The communication with the staff was excellent, from us arriving late due to traffic and the easy directions on checking out. There was an odd (sewerage like smell) around the entrance of our room to the carpark. The amenities for the kitchenette were great, if possible it could be a good idea to add a serrated knife to the cutlery (hard to cut bread rolls with a butter knife) The shower was divine! Great water pressure and easy to use. Thank you for a lovely visit!!

Not worth the money paid. Water goes everywhere in the bathroom- no shower door-area too small to not have a shower door. Ground floor room windows unable to be locked and backs onto reserve. Noise from restaurant upstairs and people coming and going. If this is a deluxe room I’d hate to see the standard.

Room 18 requires some upgrading to be callled a two bedroom family suite. This is based on other family in room 14. There was no real kitchen area and amenities were limited compared to room 14 (this includes a lounge and four chairs to sit at table for breakfast). Second room had no aircon or fan to keep room cool so door had to remain open. Bathroom handrails failing off. Have stayed before and value for money for location and comfort but disappointed with this particular room. Will ensure future bookings exclude this room.

Rooms have been upgraded with new bathrooms and furnishings making them feel modern and fresh. When visiting family we stay in the balcony rooms which have a nice view of the lake. Quiet location yet walking distance to shops and restaurants. Staff have always been friendly and helpful

What can I say? This place was very surprising as I was firstly amazed with the location right across the road from Lake Macquarie but the rooms were top notch. The bed was comfortable as was the well stocked amenities in the room. Modern and elegant was the motif of the stay in this room. A pleasant surprise was the dining options for the location. As I was on my own travelling for business, I could not fully take advantage of the on site Teppanyaki place upstairs but I did fully indulged in the coffee truck located at the front of the property. The coffee was truly superb with the best service around. Did I say the coffee was great. Overall, this is a great place to stay and I cant wait to come back to this hidden gem in Warners Bay. The only issue was being woken up in the morning by the construction team very early, but this is in no way the fault of the hotel and staff

I had an amazing stay at the Esplanade Motel in Newcastle! The room was clean and well presented, the staff were welcoming, and check in and out was a breeze. Lovely stay but check out wasn’t the most pleasant due to us getting a knock before 10am to say we needed to check out and when checking out there was no “thanks for staying” or “hope you had a nice stay” she just took the key

Despite the inconvenience, we also paid more for the family suite. Agreed to pay at property, but full amount withdrawn prior to arrival. Shower leaks into main room. The motel is located in a scenic area near the water and provides nice options to walk and enjoy views over Warners Bay and the entire region. We found the property to be overall clean and well maintained. Our room had sufficient space. The room was reasonably priced. What we found unpleasant, however, was the level of service we received from the staff at reception. To begin with, the staff member was unable to answer a simple question about how to reach the motel (it was our first time visiting the Newcastle area). Secondly, the staff member has attempted to call my phone number several times when I was still in the middle of driving. He did so without any apparent or valid reason, as we were still within reception opening hours and arrived at the motel an hour and a half before reception's closing time. I find this behavior to be strange (to put it mildly). Thirdly, there were only one or two bottles of shampoo, which is insufficient for a large family. And lastly, the staff member has promised to send a copy of the payment receipt to my email address, which he did not sent.

Only stayed 2 nights and would definitely stay here again. Really friendly receptionist who was extremely helpful. Room was really nice and the bed really comfortable. Love how close the shops are to walk to and of course walk along Lake Macquarie!

This place was refreshingly comfortable & friendly. Couldnt fault the staff who were helpful & really great when I had to change to a ground floor unit as I couldnt manage the stairs. Top little restaurant on-site too.

Great location, helpful and friendly staff. Great coffee on site. Clean and spacious room, recently renovated and clean bathroom. Late arrival was smoothly handled. We have stayed at this property on multiple occasions and will stay again.

The property was clean and very nicely renovated. It's close to everything Warner's Bay has to offer. The staff were friendly and efficient and the check-in / check-out process was very easy.

This motel was a great find. Having been recently renovated, our rooms were tastefully decorated and very clean. The bed and bedding were extremely comfortable and despite the noise from guests next door, we slept very well. We had a lovely view of the lake across the road, with great access to walking/cycling tracks, and parks with a fabulous coffee truck at the door. This will be our regular accommodation in the area from now on.

Our room was spotless and very comfortable. The manager and staff were all very polite and helpful. The lake is across the road and a short walk along the lakefront to shops, cafes etc. Highly recommended!

What can I say? This place was very surprising as I was firstly amazed with the location right across the road from Lake Macquarie but the rooms were top notch. The bed was comfortable as was the well stocked amenities in the room. Modern and elegant was the motif of the stay in this room. A pleasant surprise was the dining options for the location. As I was on my own travelling for business, I could not fully take advantage of the on site Teppanyaki place upstairs but I did fully indulged in the coffee truck located at the front of the property. The coffee was truly superb with the best service around. Did I say the coffee was great. Overall, this is a great place to stay and I cant wait to come back to this hidden gem in Warners Bay. The only issue was being woken up in the morning by the construction team very early, but this is in no way the fault of the hotel and staff

Great to go to motel that has a free EV charger for your car; very quiet, clean, spacious room. Would recommend. Lovely walk along the bay to many dinner options if you don't want the Japenese restaurant on site.

The restaurant was great and the chef was very entertaining. The room itself was nice and the bed was really comfortable. The shower was a bit small. It was in a nice quiet area.

Thank you we were very impressed with our accommodation. Very clean & well presented unit. Love the permanent coffee van at the front of the motel the coffee & the ham, cheese toasties were delicious. Top spot to stay with a great walking area around the lake, beautiful views. We will stay again

Great place and location. Absolute value for money. Best motel I have stayed at for $200 a night. Pool was great and close proximity to shops and cafes. Coffee Point out the front was great too! Would stay there again

Its just what we needed for a weekend away. Beds are really comfortable. It's clean and had everything you need for a short stay. Nice waterfront walk to and from the shops. No need to worry about Cafes and Restaurants cause there is heaps to choose from. Very happy with it all. For what we paid for its great. Thanks for having us.
