Stayed 3 nights

Stayed for 3 nights. The place is easy to access via metro and in a very nice neighborhood. Everything seems to be in order, the room is clean and the staff is very nice. Etty is very helpful and considerate. I would come back time time I come by D.C. My one recommendation is to the house is to add some laundry service (i.e. self service) and open up the balcony on the second floor. Giving this stay a 5/5.

One star is too much for this horror. My room felt like a glorified walk-in closet, totally drab and depressing. White sheet and blanket, bare walls. I felt like a priest staying at a seminary. Until I looked at the bed. Then I felt even worse. There was a bedbug, right in the middle of the mattress. I had arrived late and there was no one there. No other rooms taken, no manager. I was simply left the front door key and the room key. After seeing the bedbug (dead, at least), I felt I had no choice but to take an Uber to my son's house and sleep on the couch. When I wrote the owner/manager the next day and asked for my money back, the response was, "How do I know that you did not bring it with you."

It was safe and clean and in a cool neighborhood. I had issues with my room and they moved me to another room since they could not fix the issues with my original room. The staff was responsive. The bed was very comfortable. There are several things that would make the room better for minimal cost - a mirror over the bathroom sink (near the outlet) so you can dry your hair would be good, for example.

My room had no heat. The temperature was 39 degrees. The front desk had no attendant. When I called the business number of the guest house, she told me she was out of town. She told me to take a room on the third floor, which was very difficult, as I have a gait disorder. There is no elevator. I was visiting an old friend who lives in the neighborhood and he brought me a space heater for the next two nights of my 3-night stay. There was a problem finding an unused electrical outlet in my room. I did not feel safe
