Hampton Inn & Suites Middlebury

there were tuffs of hair under the chairs and by the bathroom door of the pool area. there was mold buildup by the entrance to the hot tub. there were 5 bandaids and other trash around the edge of the hot tub. front desk was notified.

one of the main reasons we opted for this Hotel was that it had amenities like a hottub, pool and workout area. They all were in very bad shape. The hot tub's water (in particular) looked gross and non of the jets were working. Otherwise the room was nice and provided us what we needed for the single night we stayed

We used the pool and hot tub every day of our 7 day stay. Both were clean and very enjoyable. The breakfasts were OK, some days were better than others. The flavored waffles are not too good. They have a weird taste in the middle.

Property was very clean and staff friendly. Pool and hot tub were both decent size.

The pool and hot tub were closed for maintenance. The tv had issues (Every time you shut it off, you had to push the input button) the food for breakfast wasn’t hot. Washer and Dryer didn’t work. We were supposed to have a handicap room and it was on the third floor. It had a tub that I had to lift my legs in to get a shower.

Clean room and frig. Even the pool and hot tub were extremely clean and nice. The breakfast was great!

Newly updated, room was great. Hot tub and pool were in good shape. A very pleasant stay!

Quick visit to Shipshewana for a restock... took the whole family to spend time in the pool afterwards. Was decent stay except we had to ask for linens for the sofa bed as they weren't in the room even though i booked 3 guests. And the side door on the ground floor near the pool... need greased as the handle gets stuck and then the latch doesnt work... leaving the door unlocked for all... and when that door and the other one shut? LOUD. I requested a room close to the pool... but i did not realize the amount of traffic that would use that door... kept me awake most of the night. No one's fault but my own there lol

They had ample parking, and the customer service was phenomenal. The room was very clean and organized. Will stay there again.

The property was extremely clean and well cared for. *All* of the staff from management through housekeeping were super friendly and helpful. The atmosphere was so pleasant that even the other guests were friendly! If we're in Middlebury IN again, we *will* be staying here again!!

Woke up to bugs in the bed. The shampoo bottle was completely empty and ran out of shower soap after first person. Front desk offered no apology only said they would have someone look at it

Elevator was smelly and carpet very dirty.

We have stayed here in the past. It was clean and offered a good breakfast. This time around, about 4 years, the room was very dirty, the toilet broken, the tv remote not working, and the breakfast was terrible. I do not enjoy sausage gravy and biscuits as my only option for a hot breakfast. We ate breakfast at McDonalds. The grounds were weed covered and the bulding had mold running off the stucco. Not a good appearance.

My bed was not completely made under the bed spread. The bathroom could have been a little cleaner. The counter people were very friendly. The bed was very comfortable Very good breakfast

Very clean upon approaching from outside and upon entering everything was neat and tidy. Coffee, tea, or hot water was available for guests, any time of day. I was immediately greeted upon entering and asked how I was. I told Tracy I was a bit early, but wanted to at least check in, even if our room wasn’t quite ready. Her response was, “no problem, let’s see what we can do for you.” She noticed I was wincing a bit and inquired as to was I ok. My response was that I had a bad back and right now it was good to get out of the car. Har response, “I’m so sorry, let’s see how close we can get you.” Nothing was available on the first floor, but Tracy was able to get us fairly close to the elevator on the 2nd floor, which was greatly appreciated. Her and her associate, checked with us 3x during our stay via text to make sure everything was okay and to let us know to contact them if we needed anything.

Staff was very welcoming and efficient. Room was ok but the bathroom was a little tired, toilet seat loose and floor was not the cleanest.

Not clean, food disappointed, carpets threadbare in locations, shower head stuck on blast mode, etc.

Room was nice The bathroom toilet needed cleaned!! Inside toilet towards the back had dryed feces on it I went down and showed the girl at the front desk a picture of it. She said the manager was in a meeting and as soon as he got out she would let him know We asked that it be cleaned!!! We went out for dinner and when we got back ---it still was dirty Fyi-I am the Housekeeping Manager at Webers Boutique Hotel in Ann Arbor,Mich I have been here for 53 years and would never not address a complaint as serious as this and or any complaint as far as that goes!! Not good Hotel management!

We stayed one night. Check-in was fast and easy, the room was clean, beds were comfortable. My only complaint was the A/C didn't stay at what I set it to...sometime overnight it recalibrated to a default (and warmer) setting. I woke up because it was too warm in the room.

The only problem we had was the heater in our room was clanking very loud when we first walked in the room and smelt hot. I called the front desk right away and the gentleman said we are sold out you will have to live with it. I proceeded to say well can you call someone to look at it we won’t be able to sleep with all this noise and he took my number and said he would call manager or someone to fit it and would call with update. No call, no nothing and nothing was fixed . Needless to say we paid for a room to get a descent nights sleep and there was no sleeping because of the noise. If the gentleman can’t do his job then he needs put in a different position.

The carpet was not clean and it had a piece of carpet missing in a strip.Stains on the carpet. The room air conditioner was on the other side of the room from the beds so kind of warm in the room.The bathroom floor looked like no one cleaned the corners.Bathroom was very small.

The handicap room was very wheelchair and elderly friendly!

Would have given it a 5-star rating, except our room was directly above the lobby and we could here the sliding doors opening & closing through the night. No view out the window either because the roof over drive-up area blocked the entire window! There shouldn't even be a guest room in that position...they should have made it a common area or laundry/storage or something else.

The staff was nice. The room was nice. Outdated but nice. I was a little upset that no one was available in the morning to provide breakfast on the first morning, but the front desk person explained that there was nobody to cook breakfast on the weekends but the general manager at the moment.

The TV was hard to work at first The bed and pillows were terrible The sound from above us was awful

We were greeted by Amanda. This was an additional night from our original plans. Amanda made the stay great, as she was able to put us up in a matching room that matched our stay for 3 more nights. The king suite is a great stay. Very roomy, king bed, and comfortable. The shower has great pressure, and we were on the 3rd floor. Great temperature control and plenty of Hot water. Pool was nice, hot tub was working. Very clean facility. The 2nd reservation was handled from the first night. We returned to front desk and was greeted and told all the change over was completed. Only had cards updated for additional stay. Strongly recommend this and other Hampton Inns. Very good place to stay!

Walls must be very thin, you could hear a lot of noise. Everything else about this hotel was great, would stay here again, maybe just on another floor.

The two guys who were on duty at the front desk when we checked in were wonderful. They were welcoming and helpful. Both had a sense of humor which made the experience even more pleasant. Later, when we left for the evening, they both stepped outside with us to guide us with directions to our destination. Together, they took a routine task from ordinary to exceptional!

Took 1 hour standing at the front desk to get checked in. Computer problem, desk clerk reluctant to call helpdesk, and manager not answering phone.

Booked through Hotels.com without any problem. When we got there, the front desk had issues getting the reservation linked up, but gave me the key card without any instruction or information. Got to the room that was suppose to have two queen beds, but was only one king bed. When I asked the front desk about it , she said they didn’t have any more. No explaination, just stared at me. I brought up my reservation confirmation to show her. Her response was, “we don’t have any available.” Confused, I told her I had a reservation for and paid for a room with two queen beds. Her response was, “ Well, we don’t have any available. That is the risk you take when booking trough a third party.” I found her curtness, lack of explaination, and lack of being upfront from the time of check-in completely unacceptable for customer service. We will never book with Hampton Inn again since they cannot fulfill reservations from a third party. We did try to call Hampton Inn for a reason why they didn’t have our room, but the number on their website was a third party not a Hampton Inn employee!! She was the only rude worker we ran into. The rest of the staff were friendly and helpfull. Besides the service, the bed was comfortable, the room was clean except for spiderwebs, the floor tiles were cracked, the mirror was dirty, and the free breakfast was somewhat cold, and mostly breads.

It took us 40 minutes to check in because there was nobody at the property when we arrived late. Someone showed up around 12:40 in the morning to let us in a room. Said they would offer points on our reward membership but we have not seen them yet.

Check-in was ok. Girl at the counter was not what you'd call friendly. She was more interested in being outside smoking than working. The room was clean, and the bed was comfortable. Free wifi means you have to join the Hilton club. We tried to call the front desk 3 times to get the password, but no one answered! Breakfast was great....lots of choices! Check out was better. Girl was super pleasant!

Wasnt able to stay. They didnt honor expedias reservation i had made and paid for. The clerk was also very rude, made no effort to assist with accomodations elsewhere and had very much could care less attitude.

Newer facility. Nicely decorated. Room was clean and fully functional; breakfast area ample space; and enjoyed a well equipped fitness room. Close to area attractions.

The breakfast was almost non-existent! When I reported it they said, "they had a lot of tour busses and their truck hasn't come in yet." This is no excuse! Busses don't show up unexpectedly. We came to Hampton Inn for the convenience to our destination but mostly for the time-savings of breakfast in house. Totally unacceptable. We deserve a partial refund!

No hot water in sink; very little hot water in shower. Decals peeling off of the elevator. Breakfast was very poor.

The breakfast was Horrible the eggs were gone.The sausage Was Overcooked the breakfast attendent was out in the parking lot smoking cigarettes the whole time we were trying to eat breakfast

Staff was very friendly and helpful. Breakfast was a hot breakfast, different both days of our stay. Staff in the breakfast area was very nice, and very attentive to the food and cleaning the tables. Room was very nice, spacious, and clean.

Breakfast could use some improvement. Kept running out of coffee at breakfast and in the evening.
