The staff had a very high work ethics. The room was clean and the cleaning crews were working diligently. I loved the location where was very convenient to take the city train system. The only thing I did not like was: a man’s hot spring was much bigger and had 4-5 kinds of hot tubs. In contrary, a female had only one hot tub.

Antique design, restaurant for breakfast was small. Hospitality by stuff was so good.

Clean hotel with great staff. Main downside is the settings for the air are low, medium, or high, so no control over a thermostat.

The male toilet in the lobby needs more air freshener. We were well received by the female staff member during our check in. She provided us with hotel information (e.g. daily breakfast, Onsen, laundry, etc.) clearly. The front desk staff are always friendly and helpful with welcoming smiles. We also appreciated the daily room cleaning service. The quality of the daily breakfast was excellent! We were very impressed with the effectiveness and efficiency of baggage forwarding service provided by the hotel as we needed to send one baggage to a hotel in Tokyo on the day before our checking out from Manten Hotel in Toyama.

As expected, this is an aging property but with warm welcoming staff, great location and potentially good views of the city and the Tateyama mountain range (I was given a relatively high floor with open views). The basic room size was extremely small but sufficient for a simple stay with one large luggage for a single person. Room rates were very reasonable at around US$40 a night. Parking was full on my second night and had to park 10 minutes walk away (free tram ticket given to collect car next morning). If budget is a concern, I would certainly suck it up and stay again.
