Great helpful staff very welcoming and knowledgeable staff. Wotif.com didn’t portray the room as I found it share bathroom down the hall. My elderly father and I found the old style lift difficult to enter and exit as I had to hold both the doors open as my father had to negotiate getting into the lift on a 4 wheel walker. The lift is turned off overnight and we were on the 2nd floor. Not all the ramps inside the hotel were open during the 24 hours he couldn’t use steps on check out the ramps were not open which made it difficult to get to the car. Other than this for an able body person it’s a great stay so would recommend.

While the property was clean, modernly renovated, l was unaware the restaurant turned into a nightclub until 2am. The noise in room 203 was unacceptable, even with supplied earplugs ( huge red flag) there was no discussion or pre - notice from the staff on check in l may experience loud noise in that room, which was very disappointing.

Lovely old fashioned style hotel, which has kept some of its most enduring characteristics whilst keeping up with modern needs.. Friendly and helpful staff, bedroom was clean and bed was comfortable.. Has a very dated lift, it works, offers insight into how old the building is.. Handy for train station (about a 3min walk) and central Gosford.. Has its own nice restaurant on site and plenty of choice of refreshments.. Other options are close by.. Can get noisy and busy if have a late night function on.

Payed for 2 nights only stayed for 1 night Only Got 2 hours sleep Karaoke went till two in the morning people outside screaming yelling police sirens street car noise if you want a good night sleep I would not recommend staying here and they didn’t give me a refund on the un used night totally ruined my weekend

This was a one night stay driving south. I had stayed at the hotel previously. The staff were friendly, the room was clean and the bed was comfortable. I didn't need the air conditioning. I used the lift a couple of times and while it worked was very old and I dare say ahead of its time when installed. Parking was a bit limited and for a while I had to park in the street. I would stay there again.

Loud, room feels like jail cell, aircon set to 22°C and can't change that and it was very hot, window doesn't open, bed very uncomfortable. When I tried to explain to the man ager (next morning), she got defensive and rude and didn't want to hear my point. Luckily they had no trouble letting us cancel the second night of our stay and we found a more suitable place.

The room was cute and i loved the old school elevator. It is noisy but that’s expected from a pub so i wasn’t too bothered by it.The bathroom is very luxurious for pub accomodation and the room had a sink and good fridge.Also the tv was great I could log into Netflix and watch YouTube on it.I would recommend coming here if you like a nice heritage place and don’t mind the noise at night.They do provide ear plugs in the room. Also i have to mention that they have a really lovely assortment of tea not the cheap stuff they have good quality organic tea very nice and coffee too and 2 packers of small little cookies which were delicious. I didn’t try the food there but maybe next time. But the kebab shop across the rd was 10/10.

Yes, the Hotel has been renovated and modernised but still not computer friendly. No where to set up laptop and settle in. I stayed in an Ensuite room last year and still no area to set up. They moved a small table in for the second day which I could sit on the bed and use my laptop.

Arrive early request early check in unfortunately lady at the bar /no reception venue said no go somewhere come back at 2pm we go no room for luggage rack and she turned away very rude staff ever seen in hotel setting- they don’t deserve a rating at all low class staff no hospitality training

After checking in and putting our bags in our room and unpacking some things my friend and I went to a music festival. While at the festival I noticed I had missed a call that had left a voice message, I played back the voice message that asked me to go back to the Hotel and move our belongings out of our room as we had been given the wrong room . I immediately rang the Hotel back to say I couldn’t return back as I was at a music festival only to be told they went in our room packed up our personal belongs and were moved to another room . My friend and I were not happy that someone had invaded our privacy and removed our personal belongings without our permission. The pub does not close till 2am and has 2 DJ,s going till this time so a noisy Hotel is an understatement. The rooms were tidy and the shared bathrooms looked brand new and were clean. This pub is also close to Gosford Train station

I’ll write an honest review: Arrived at the hotel and the person checking in tried to charge me again….. and double what I had already paid. The air conditioning was making a terrible noise…… so I informed them and was told there was nothing they could do and told me if I don’t like it find somewhere else (it was 8pm at night) and I would be refunded the next day. So I got online and by 9pm found somewhere else to stay….. 5 days later and no refund so contacted Wotif….. they contacted the hotel and the manager told them they won’t be processing a refund The staff I delt with were rather rude, simply had no idea when checking in and definitely won’t be returning

Booked Hotel Gosford as it was the closest hotel within walking distance of Gosford Hospital, needed to be close by as sister in law in palliative care. Was a bit worried that given the price was quite cheap it would be a bad hotel. Very pleasantly surprised, it looks like it has been refurbished, the rooms are great, especially the ones with a balcony, the food in Earls Kitchen is just amazing, and the staff, wow, so amazing, friendly, helpful. Especially the ladies behind the bar during a difficult time were so genuinely supportive. We can not fault anything at Hotel Gosford, you will be pleasantly surprised and glad you stayed, we are, and will definitely be back.

Got locked outside after 11pm cause bar staff during check in didn’t advise about after hours entrance- lift never work you have to lift luggage upstairs 3 floors, deposit of $100 not refunded, staff advise they do refunds. Staff not very helpful very rude.cleaning lady especially. Never again I chose Ibis instead no deposit good car park professional staff

Hotel Gosford offers good clean pub accommodation at reasonable prices. I especially liked the newly renovated bathrooms, the complimentary organic tea bags and small cookies and the friendly hotel staff. I do feel though that the hotel room doors are old and make noise when you close them. New room doors and new security locks would definitely improve the hotel and security for hotel guests. But otherwise the hotel is fine and offers good budget accommodation in a convenient location.

It was a traditional Australian pub with accommodation upstairs so a shared bathroom, which I didn't mind at all considering the price. Beautiful old building with lots of solid timber, very good and friendly staff. The place was immaculately clean and housekeeping were well onto it. The restaurant was excellent. I will definitely be staying there again.

This hotel embodies the charm of the early 1900s with the restaurant and bar of 2023. The renovation allows a great experience in the pub itself with excellent food, drinks and entertainment. The upstairs hotel has also been renovated and it’s comfortable and charming. They even kept the old “writing room” wifi h is quite historic. If you don’t mind the shared bathrooms, as they did back in the day, this hotel is a great experience. A short walk to Brisbane Water for more dining and a lovely park. Short drive to the beaches.

I loved the price and the proximity to the public transport. The bathrooms we're all recently renovated and great. I couldn't get the tv in my room to work. Not a big problem as I was in and out the whole time. Earl's restaurant downstairs was a great feed and very reasonably priced.bI would gladly stay again
