We stayed on the 7th floor and the view was beautiful. The staff are all so hospitable and welcoming. The water machine and the coffee on the 1st floor were great. The fridge in my room kept my water ice cold. The wifi was excellent. The smoking area was great for us. It was so peaceful and nice, we have no complaints at all. It was very close to different options for public transportation, whether it be bus or train. There is a 7/11 nearby and a small grocery store across the street. Give this place a stay! It was fabulous! The next time we go to Japan, this will be our place to stay.

Great, affordable place to stay for a few nights. The beds were not comfortable at all, though. The rooms are pretty small. Bonus: access to a kitchen and laundry as well as common spaces.

東京に来る際は何度も何度もよく利用させていただくほど気に入っています。安いのに女性専用フロアがあってお風呂もトイレも数があるので困ったり不自由したことはありません。ランドリーも使いやすいし部屋は広くはないですが個室なので快適です。 ただ海外のお客さんが多いので、正直宿泊者のマナーが悪い時があります。仕方ないですが。。 廊下を自分の部屋のように使ってパッキングしてる海外の人がいて、隣の部屋だったので廊下に音が響いて夜中なのに騒音だったので注意しました。そういうマナーのない宿泊者はその人の問題なので仕方ないか…と。 ホテル側から注意してほしくて一階受付まで行きましたがスタッフ誰もいなくて仕方なく自分で注意しました。こんなこと初めてでした。廊下は私有地ではないことを伝えておかないと海外の人は好き放題するんだなと学びました

There isn’t much space in the room. When one of us wanted to open the check bag the other would have to be on the bottom bunk or leave the room. The pillow we had was very small, only your head could fit so I recommend you buy a pillow if you prefer the western size pillows The staff was amazing and very helpful, there was a microwave and water bottle refiller, coin washer and dryer, and tables to gather and eat. Pay very close to the check in time, we missed it because of the delayed flight so we had to go to an emergency hotel the first night. The bathroom situation was okay, though it would be better if you are a male. The male bathroom had urinals and toilets whereas the female bathroom only had one toilet. There are two showers in every floor (I suspect we were on the fifth floor) and a bathtub

Stayed on the women only floor, single room Concierge is very welcoming, staff for the most part can understand English. Otherwise, basic Japanese and gestures would be enough as well Seems to be family owned and they live in the hostel as well? Room although non-smoking had a very strong smoky smell throughout my entire 6 nights, even though I washed my clothes in the coin laundry the smell never left. Overall spacious and enough for 1 pax, they have detergent available for 30yen if you don't have yours The coin laundry room is locked from 11pm onwards but they close the coin hole of the machines around 10:30pm onwards, would be best to wash your clothes before 10pm latest About 10 minutes walk from Minami-senju station, quite accessible to anywhere (Tobu Zoo, Tokyo Skytree, Akihabara, Ueno). For further places it takes longer, eg. about at least 3 hours to Mt Fuji Lawson and 7-11 nearby within the vicinity Very good stay for a solo traveller on a budget, thanks to the team for a great 6 nights 🙏

The best thing about Japan Palace is how friendly and helpful the staff were. There was also helpful information about bus and train and restaurants post in Japanese and English. The next best thing was that although not fancy it had all the basics for cooking a simple meal and a very pleasant common area. Highly recommend!

4 lits individuels pour notre famille, c'était pratique pour bien dormir. Nombreux petits supermarchés juste à proximité et le métro est à 10 minutes. Les sanitaires étaient collectifs, dans le couloir, mais ça s'est très bien passé et l'hôtel était calme (normal, avec des japonais qui sont calmes). Petit frigo dans les chambres, ce n'est pas bien grand mais on se débrouille en s'organisant. Seuls bémols : le matelas très fin et dur, et l'oreiller composé de billes dures et trop petit (literie pas confortable).

お値打ち価格に惹かれて予約しました。 8階女性フロアの個室、とても静かな環境と広い設備があり、とても良かったです。また利用させていただきたいと思いました。 部屋のテレビがつかなくて、フロントの方に伝えたところ丁寧にご対応いただき、視聴できるようにしてくれました。 気になった点は2点。 バスタオルとタオルは、事前にホテルの写真で確認した通り、かなりの古さを感じました。あると助かりますが、気になる方はタオル持参がお勧めです。 全室禁煙となっていたかと思うのですが（見間違いでしたらすみません）、部屋はタバコの臭いがひどく、ベットにも染み付いているようで、あまり眠れませんでした。お部屋によるのかもしれません。 なにか消臭対策を講じていただけるとありがたいなと思いました。

下記の点から、二度と泊まりたくないホテルNo1です。返金を求めたいレベルです。 ①まず、置かれていたバスタオルを使った途端、服にタオルの繊維が付着しまくり、下記写真のようになってしまいました。ホテルの受付の男性に問い合わせたところ、彼は謝罪すら一切せず、私のせいじゃないとの一点張りでした。その後オーナーが来ましたが、オーナーも自ら謝罪することはなく、繊維は取れば大丈夫と開き直りました。彼女よりある程度繊維が取り除かれた服を返されましたが、ただそれだけです。 ②シーツに写真のようなシミが数カ所ありました。本当に毎日洗濯されているのでしょうか。 ③部屋もホコリ臭く、壁もいたるところにシミが見受けられます。

数日間連続で宿泊しました。ほとんど不満もなく過ごさせて頂きました。トイレや洗面所シャワー室は共用ですが、清潔に保たれています。個室内も不潔な感じもなく、最低限の広さですが1人で泊まる日はには充分です。 電話した際の対応、フロントの接客なども言葉遣いから丁寧にしてくださいました。対応される従業員によって違うかもしれませんが、私は宿泊にあたって不十分だとか、不快に感じたとかそういったことはありませんでした。 少しマイナスポイントをあげるならば①部屋のエアコン②1階コインランドリー、くらいでしょうか。 ①については前回の清掃からの日が経過しているのか、電源を入れると匂いや埃っぽさが目立ちました。 ②については乾燥機が古い？調子が悪い？ため、なかなか乾きませんでした。(洗濯機は問題なし。洗剤もフロントで安く買えます。)翌日も衣服が必要で急ぎであったため、外部のコインランドリーを利用することになりました。 近辺のホテルより値段が安めですが、マイナスポイントは少なくお得なのではないでしょうか。おすすめできます。

Ok... small room, comfy bed, clean bathrooms, friendly and helpful staff are the good things and hostel prices for a private room. The downsides are the hotel has seen its better days... it's a little threadbare, and the street noise can be quite noisy especially late at night, so if you are a light sleeper like me it can be an issue. A short walk to the train station and bus stops nearby...a pretty well stocked and reasonably price market across the street.

The fridge in my room kept my water ice cold. The wifi was excellent. The smoking area was great for us. It was so peaceful and nice, we have no complaints at all. It was very close to different options for public transportation, whether it be bus or train. There is a 7/11 nearby and a small grocery store across the street. Give this place a stay! It was fabulous! The next time we go to Japan, this will be our place to stay.

4 lits individuels pour notre famille, c'était pratique pour bien dormir. Nombreux petits supermarchés juste à proximité et le métro est à 10 minutes. Les sanitaires étaient collectifs, dans le couloir, mais ça s'est très bien passé et l'hôtel était calme (normal, avec des japonais qui sont calmes). Petit frigo dans les chambres, ce n'est pas bien grand mais on se débrouille en s'organisant. Seuls bémols : le matelas très fin et dur, et l'oreiller composé de billes dures et trop petit (literie pas confortable).

The room is small. Practically have to put luggage on the bed to open/close. Provide only rinse and body shampoo in the bathroom. No conditioner. Will recommend bring own hair shampoo and conditioner. Cleaner will NOT clean your room, until you check out. Towel for body and face is provided but is not change every day. Means you use it till you check out. There are 4 train lines. Hibiya line, Tsukuba express, Ueno-Tokyo line and Joban line. There's Denny's, Burger King and Mac near the station. There's also other eateries nearby the station. For people who likes to cook, there's a market place opp the hotel and behind the railway station (beside Mac)

I stayed with Palace Hotel Japan for 2 nights and while I was shocked initially at the size of the room, it is actually quite value for money! The front desk staff is very friendly and the bathrooms are clean. Only issue I had was that the first room I had a defectable AC, leading to me requesting for a change in room, which the receptionist promptly provided. Overall, I had a good sleep on both nights and this hotel really give you a bang for your buck!

Hotel Palace uaed to be my favorite choice of stay. However, this round, it was an horrified experience. First of all, the lady at the counter was not friendly, unlike an gentleman before her, who was very professional and helpful. When i asked for a new towel as i had been staying over a stretch of 6 days this time, she plainly told me i need to pay 100yen if i wanted to change towel...what was worst came later when i was waiting to take lift to my room, there was this untidy man on mask rudely questioned me why was i smiling at him (in Japanese), appeared to wanting to pick a fight. When i replied "nani mo shitenai", he rudely told me "ikeike!" Could he be the friend of the lady serving at the counter? I saw the man cleaning the terrace area of the morning, i guess he must one of the hotel staff..i think hotel management better into this seriously..this man really has some problem, he appeared like a chinpira.

東京に来る際は何度も何度もよく利用させていただくほど気に入っています。安いのに女性専用フロアがあってお風呂もトイレも数があるので困ったり不自由したことはありません。ランドリーも使いやすいし部屋は広くはないですが個室なので快適です。 ただ海外のお客さんが多いので、正直宿泊者のマナーが悪い時があります。仕方ないですが。。 廊下を自分の部屋のように使ってパッキングしてる海外の人がいて、隣の部屋だったので廊下に音が響いて夜中なのに騒音だったので注意しました。そういうマナーのない宿泊者はその人の問題なので仕方ないか…と。 ホテル側から注意してほしくて一階受付まで行きましたがスタッフ誰もいなくて仕方なく自分で注意しました。こんなこと初めてでした。廊下は私有地ではないことを伝えておかないと海外の人は好き放題するんだなと学びました

お値打ち価格に惹かれて予約しました。 8階女性フロアの個室、とても静かな環境と広い設備があり、とても良かったです。また利用させていただきたいと思いました。 部屋のテレビがつかなくて、フロントの方に伝えたところ丁寧にご対応いただき、視聴できるようにしてくれました。 気になった点は2点。 バスタオルとタオルは、事前にホテルの写真で確認した通り、かなりの古さを感じました。あると助かりますが、気になる方はタオル持参がお勧めです。 全室禁煙となっていたかと思うのですが（見間違いでしたらすみません）、部屋はタバコの臭いがひどく、ベットにも染み付いているようで、あまり眠れませんでした。お部屋によるのかもしれません。 なにか消臭対策を講じていただけるとありがたいなと思いました。

The staff was fantastic! They made our stay feel personal and very enjoyable. The hotel is close to a station and only 3 stops from Ueno, making it very convenient. There is a grocery store right cross from the hotel for late night snacks (their strawberries were amazing). Overall, we loved our stay and looked forward to getting back to rest our feet after each day.

About a 15-minute walk from Asakusa and a 10-minute walk to the nearest train station is where Palace Japan Hotel is located. The neighborhood is Showa era and on the quiet side. The hotel reminds me of an older motel (well maintained). The staff very welcoming and the bathrooms/showers clean! The room is dated, however it’s a room all to yourself and bonuses include: a small fridge, a large window, and television (stuck on Japanese language lol). Somewhat a walk from the main sites, however I’d stay again for the pluses!

Within walking distance to a subway/train station. Nearby convenience stores. Quiet area after the hustle and bustle of other areas in Tokyo which I appreciated after a long day of site seeing. Like some of the other reviews I agree that the beds and pillows were a bit firm, but I got used to it rather quickly.

南千住駅から10分ほど。ホテルの方が親切で、近所のおすすめの銭湯についても教えてくださいました。無料でキッチンも借りれるようでした。 2段ベットのドミトリーの部屋を予約していましたが、女性用のシングルの部屋が空いていたのでそちらに変更して下さいました。 施設は改装され新しくなっており、トイレも綺麗です。ただ、唯一気になった点は枕が人の頭皮の匂いがして使えない程だったことです。 それ以外は大変良いホテルだと思います。また利用したいです。

There isn’t much space in the room. When one of us wanted to open the check bag the other would have to be on the bottom bunk or leave the room. The pillow we had was very small, only your head could fit so I recommend you buy a pillow if you prefer the western size pillows The staff was amazing and very helpful, there was a microwave and water bottle refiller, coin washer and dryer, and tables to gather and eat. Pay very close to the check in time, we missed it because of the delayed flight so we had to go to an emergency hotel the first night. The bathroom situation was okay, though it would be better if you are a male. The male bathroom had urinals and toilets whereas the female bathroom only had one toilet. There are two showers in every floor (I suspect we were on the fifth floor) and a bathtub

The best thing about Japan Palace is how friendly and helpful the staff were. There was also helpful information about bus and train and restaurants post in Japanese and English. Staff was great, we arrived very late but check was still very quick and efficient. Our host quickly checked us in and showed us around the property and did a great job of explaining everything. Cleanliness in rooms and showers average, not the best but not the worst. And the various amenities and location made it a great place to stay.

Located near the Tokyo Skytree, this hotel was budget friendly and good value for money. Whilst the room was small, it was ideal for a solo traveller like myself. My room was located close to the toilets and shower room outside of my room which were always available to use and relatively clean. I was provided with a towel, and was able to request for a socket adaptor which I was able to hire for a refundable deposit. Whilst reception hours were not 24hrs, I had no issues entering and leaving the building early in the morning or late at night. The ground floor came with a kitchen area, dining area and a laundry room with affordable pricing. The nearest station was a ~7-10min walk away and connected well to the rest of the Capital. Close to the hotel, there were a few convenience stores which were open most of the time. Despite the pillow looking very thin and small in size, I was able to sleep comfortably using it. Bed was comfortable. Staff were very respectful and friendly.
