Caves House Hotel

This was a beautiful spot with great gardens .Food was great. Three different types , Bakery / Take away (next door) , Pub style with bands , or dinning room . Room were great . Staff were friendly but lacked some skills but this could be transitory .

Caves House has a gorgeous heritage atmosphere. Many original or recreated features. Live music at dinner was a delightful surprise. Staff were courteous & very efficient. Valued for the heritage rather than luxury, a very pleasant stay.

Caves House accommodation was perfect in every way. It’s a beautiful heritage hotel, well-maintained..covering all needs for guests, comfortable clean accomodation in a superb garden setting, good dining, & in close proximity to many of the region’s attractions.

Beautifully restored old hotel. Fantastic staff. Lovely restaurant and beautiful gardens. Will stay here again when down south.

Great spot. I love the way they have incorporated the heritage building aspects with the modern rooms. Being a pin it wasn’t quiet, but it was nice to enjoy some live music and a pub drink and meal. Unfortunately I am sure I got the worst room on the property. The only windows were opposite the back of the kitchen and there was a loud generator/exhaust fan noise the ran intermittently from 6:30am until about 10:30pm. No way to enjoy the gorgeous views or garden from that room (8a)! The gardens were amazing and only a short walk to the beach or the Ngilgi Caves. There is a bakery around the back that is exceptional. Overall, enjoyed my stay, but a shame about the room.

The hotel gives an experience that will stick for all the right reasons. Wonderful location for a historic hotel with service befitting quality. We were cheerfully moved from our room so we didn't have to hear the popular pub music from the beer garden. The deep front verandas were the perfect place for sundowners and a lovely evening meal. This has been our special place for 40 years and has never disappointed.

A great option on the Cape to Cape trail; food, laundry, warmth, a bath, friendly staff, even live music. Far FAR better than camping!

Lovely clean apartment with a balcony and good facilities. I was very comfortable.

Beautiful historic building. The room we stayed in was clean but over the pub and was fairly loud during the afternoon and evening. The sound did stop around 10. It would have been nice if they didn't move furniture around loudly early in the morning though

The gardens are beautiful, we enjoyed the stroll to the beach. The room was clean and nicely appointed. The bed was comfortable. We loved the vintage photos and descriptions in the corridor

Room a little noisy as it overlooked the kitchen's extraction fans - however this stopped at night so sleeping was no problem. Room was clean and comfortable. An excellent breakfast was included in the rate.

Enjoyed the stay; the grounds are superb. The room decor is a bit of a mash-up, but clean and tidy nonetheless. Keen to return.

We loved staying here. Its a beautiful old hotel and very clean. The food was amazing and the surrounding grounds provided plenty of walks and trails. Would definitely stay here again

I dropped tea on the bed - I reported it and house keeping did not change the bed linen. They just made the bed for to sleep in it. There were cobwebs all over the ceiling- Under staffed - dinner took 45 min to serve in the restaurant ( food was pub food, nothing fancy

Can’t fault anything except the lack of air conditioning. Too hot in the middle of summer. Ceiling fan not enough.

Historical ambience. Beautiful gardens. Friendly staff. Spacious room with lounge, spa, separate shower however we didn’t count on no air conditioning and struck a hot two days! The beach was amazing.

Do not stay in room 8A! Nice room but right next to the exhaust system from the kitchen which is very loud and runs until 9pm and starts up again at 7am (no sleep in). Staff don’t really care. Much better accomm in Dunsborough

Price was right. Location and surroundings Beautiful. Lovely old hotel by Australian standards. Our room was small. Noise from kitchen mechanical extraction system was annoying. Curtains wouldn't close fully. There was nothing to sit on other than the bed. TV was too small to see clearly from bed. Maybe were spoilt. 😊

A beautiful property in a beautiful part of the world in ever respect , but on an extremely hot day thew rooms could use air conditioning and not just a ceiling fan . Other than that -wonderful !

A lovely property from another era. The room was smaller than I thought having to store cases in the bathroom and no chair or desk. We paid for a balcony and was surprised to find it was a shared area with the room next door so ended up not using it as no privacy. No point choosing this room. We could hear the people chatting when we were in our room. Apart from that the stay was pleasant despite the heavy rain. Ate in restaurant on Friday and wanted a cocktail but the person who made them was not working. Food was pricey but ok. Decent buffet breakfast included

Fast wifi and a terrific breakfast to start our day. Would definitely recommend this hotel to family and friends.

Beautiful property and gardens with a retro feel and photos showing the hotel's history lining the walls. Love Caves House but our room was disappointing as we were next to the aircon units which operated until around 10pm - fair enough being a Saturday night. It was pretty noisy so we were unable to get to sleep. Would suggest a better set up for accessing the kettle area as there was no pull-down shelf etc. We had to use the cupboard or the bathroom bench which was full of our stuff. Room a bit pokey. Otherwise, comfy beds, lovely marble bathroom and enough cupboard space for one suitcase.

This hotel has character 👌 old and lots of stories to tell over the time and interesting history of how it was built What I love about this hotel is unique and the surroundings are beautiful green park where you can have a family picnic with amazing view infront of you Staff at the front was good and helpful to our needs Staff at the restaurant was good except the lady at the front asked us if we have reservation and her facial expression like she doesn't wanna know us in short, she was not welcoming at all The room we had nothing special, we booked for king size bed but we got king bed with two double bed foam put together and I hated it as we were couple and its annoying us being in the middle as we can feel the division between two beds And the most frustrating was the noise coming from the kitchen fan/AC as our room 7A was just above, we waited until 9pm as the receptionist told us kitchen will be closed then, we patiently waited hoping it will be quiet but unfortunately it didn't happened it keep going the whole night It was noisy and we are trying to sleep as we're so tired. We didn't have a good night sleep at all The next day we told the same person at the reception and he said its been a problem and was sorry about it If its been a problem then why not do something about it, I hate the fact that we could have stayed somewhere cheaper and have a really great night sleep and We are not happy about it.

Accessibility to Caves House, unless you drive there, is very poor. If arriving by coach, there is no way to get there without risking your life. I managed to arrive in one piece thanks to a considerate TransWA Coach driver and the kindness of strangers. Leaving the venue was also a challenge! No assistance with bags or getting back to the bus, despite asking. The room was okay, just very noisy, but you can hear everything. There is no room service, no replenishing of towels or product if needed and then arriving back after 9:30pm, after attending a wedding, and alone, was really scary. A big section of the walkway, to the night entrance, has no lighting, i had to use my phone. It was very very dark. I think for what it costs to stay there I expected better. So yeah a bit disappointing because Yallingup itself is lovely

What should have been excellent was a bit ordinary. In fact, the greeting was very ordinary. It was clear that we were an inconvenience. The room had a lovely ambience and was spacious. Dinner was delicious, but even in the restaurant, you had to queue up to place your order. We went to the (widely advertised) included breakfast but were told that it wasn't for us, because we had booked through a third party (hotels.com) and it would cost $60. So we had a delicious breakfast at the Lagoons cafe near the beach. When we checked out, again there a cursory glance and that was that. I don't think I'd bother again. (The poor grammar on some of their signs also bothered me!)

Staff were friendly and eager to help. Loved the history, it felt special. The environment around the hotel was spectacular. It was close to places of interest. What more could one ask really.

Great apartment and good breakfast. Hotel has atmosphere but is modernised. Located out of town but close to beach and cave. Driving distance to wineries and other attractions. A good base for the area.

Peaceful location, lovely gardens, close to the beach. Hard to fault the Apartment we stayed in. Overall, very enjoyable.

Dinner at the restaurant was odd. Has to order and pay at the bar.

Room noisy and no aircon. Food at restaurant terrible. I had a great time last stay. This last room terrible and noisy , very noisy.

Caves House is a magnificent old building set among beautifully manicured grounds. We enjoyed our two night stay here. Evening dinner was fair, but breakfast was fantastic. Evening dining options are much better at nearby Dunsborough. Caves House is a great place to relax and see the sights of Yallingup and Cape Naturaliste.
