Very unique historic building. Comfy bed and friendly staff. Good free breakfast. Just remember when you try to take a noon nap that the ghost organ comes alive on the hour every hour! Took us by surprise the first time! Pet friendly too.

We arrived at the hotel at 2 PM, check in time is 4PM, but they let us to check in early. The staff is very friendly. Property is clean. Room is nice, they provide apple TV, so we can stream Netflix and Prime. The cable also has a lot of channels. The property is an old building, but it doesn't smell. Lots of character, very cute. They are also pet friendly. We will be back to this hotel when we visit Powell River again.

As name suggests it is old but cozy and vintage style. Loved the decors. Breakfast was great. Loved the Kelly’s Cakes pancakes. Made fresh, crispy and fluffy pancakes! Loved the vibe! Great service! Ample parking too!

It is a comfortable quiet, cosy inn. The staff is friendly, and breakfast was delicious! There was great shopping next door. Lots of neat little boutiques. The king size bed was comfortable, and there was air conditioning, which was great because it was a hot weekend.

This is the second time we have stayed at the Old Courthouse. It is a fun quirky place to stay in Powell River. Room was clean, check-in was efficient and fast. Good parking and easy access to the first floor from the parking lot. Would recommend and would stay again.

One of a kind boutique hotel in a historic neighborhood. The owner has gone the extra mile and it shows throughout. Feels like staying in a museum with the modern amenities, great choice if you're into the aesthetic. Breakfast of your choice, which includes Eggs Benny, each morning with your stay is a great personal touch. The only negative, being an old building, are lots of stairs and hearing doors opening, closing and being slammed by other guests during the day. I'm sure the owner could add some felt pads to the door frames to help with the latter. Overall highly recommended.

The room was quiet, for the most part. I booked a sea view room but was given a room on the other side with no view and traffic noise. No reason for changing my booked room was given. When I checked in, I was told that I was being given an upgrade but not sure what that was based on. The hot water in the bathroom sink did not work - always cold. Only good thing was the water pressure in the shower. The hotel is in poor condition- looks like no one is doing general upkeep at all. Never saw anyone working in the hotel. Ran out of toilet paper so had to use Kleenex!

Room was musty smelling, but that can be expected in this area. Room was large, comfy king size bed. Nice mini fridge with separate freezer compartment. The spacious bathroom was clean, had tub with a wonderful rain shower. Location was okay, a few amenities within walking distance, but lots more just a short drive away. There are delicious full breakfast options that are included with your stay and served in the little attached cafe. We had a nice water view. Was raining & late in day when we arrived so didn’t check out much of the neighbour hood.

This is a quaint and cute older hotel. The rooms were comfortable and clean. I only stayed one night but would stay again. I did find a bug crawling on my sheets, but it wasn't a bedbug thankfully. Breakfast is provided but doesn't open until 9 am, and I had to leave earlier than that, so I missed out on that.

This is an old building converted into a quasi Bed & Breakfast style Inn. Located in the Powell River historic/old section, it's about a 4km drive to the newer town area where all the typical services are offered. And while the Inn has charm & character, if our room was indicative, they all could use significant upgrading/renovating, ie, single pane/hard to open wood windows, bathroom towel rail detached from the wall, & the bathroom door didn't lock. Additionally, the included breakfast starts at 9am which is rather late. On the plus side, check in was easy, the king bed was comfortable & breakfast was tasty. Generally speaking, it's clean & comfortable but IMO 2.5 to 3 stars is the overall rating I would give it.

The room and bathroom were cramped and cluttered but clean. The bar fridge in the room cycled on and off loudly even when turned off. Unfortunately the plug was behind a heavy piece of furniture so not easily accessed. No live TV only streaming. Most disturbing was the swearing into a phone that took place in the alleyway between the hotel and I suspect a mental health accommodation at 9 pm, 3:30 am and then again at 6:50 am. Could hear it clearly as the bathroom window was kept open by a screen. Otherwise the area was very quiet at night. Just not good for sleeping. Great location for walking as very historic.

A glorious old Powell River hotel, beautifully preserved and sympathetically loved. Kelly clearly has a love for the place. TheTownsite brewery and tasting room nearby added to the pleasure, as did the very finely spiced foods at the Royal Zakya restaurant up the hill.

This is an old historic building in a very interesting part of Powell River and there is an interesting walk that you can do that takes you around all these old buildings! Building is very old so need to expect that everything isn’t as modern others but there is everything that you need including TV, WiFi, nice shower and lots of interesting photos and memorabilia to peruse! Breakfast included and it was very good! Also close to Highway 101 and access to Lund and some nice parks and hiking trails!

Definitely a charming old hotel, with lots of cool knick knacks in all the hallways. However, we found our room VERY small. Only big enough for the double bed, a small dresser and a sink. Also a tiny bathroom with toilet and tiny shower stall. Didn't like the curtain separating the main room from the bathroom. Needs some TLC overall. One HUGE plus though was the included full breakfast. Choice of items including eggs benny, eggs/meat/breakfast potatoes, etc. and including coffee/tea. And excellent service, though a bit slow with only one young lady waiting tables.

This place is a gem. Authentic period decor, very quiet; we needed two beds and got two bedrooms- very homey. Brewpub and restaurants across the street. Cafe with eggs Benny included in the price. It’s a few km from the new part of town, with all the shops and restaurants but that didn’t affect us. I’d seek this place out if ever in PR again.

So, I booked because of the reviews - but it genuinely wasn’t my experience unfortunately. Perhaps I just got a sub standard room. The rooms are small, and nowhere to work (tiny desk that didn’t fit my laptop and uncomfortable chair that didn’t pull out enough because of space). I was in town for business so this mattered. The room was very noisy - people coming and going all night with the exterior doors slamming every time. I stayed 3 nights and this was endless. There’s nowhere to eat food without balancing on the end of the bed. Breakfast was served between 9&1pm - not sure I understood this as everyone had left by the time I did every morning at 8:30. Wind chimes around the outside of the building went crazy with the wind (I know, I know, that’s the point but I mean crazy - we are a couple of blocks from the ocean so wind is, well, expected!). My bed had a row of ‘popped’ springs so I had to sleep sideways! I could go on but I won’t - it’s a cute character building with tons of curios. The Manager was sweet, the parking was great - the coffee in the room was good - access to microwaves and kettles/iron etc in the basement. Not for me but certainly an experience!

We had a room with two beds, which were in separate rooms divided by a door so that was a pleasant surprise. Eat breakfast in the morning was delicious and served promptly to order. The area around the hotel is a little older, but not a significant concern all in all we had a great stay!

This wonderful boutique hotel was the perfect way to spend time in Powell River. The hotel keeper met us after hours with a friendly smile and took time to show us all about our room. Owner very obviously does not care about this super run down property. Best thing about it is the breakfast in the morning. Also tried a scam we've seen in Europe of charging the credit card for random missing or damaged items well after we left. Charges ultimately reserved after complaint but not satisfactorily. Stay anywhere else.
Owner very obviously does not care about this super run down property. Best thing about it is the breakfast in the morning. Also tried a scam we've seen in Europe of charging the credit card for random missing or damaged items well after we left. Charges ultimately reserved after complaint but not satisfactorily. Stay anywhere else.

The owner/manager was there to greet us and show us to our room. He showed us how the tv worked and when the restaurant was open and the room with extra snacks and irons etc. very super helpful. Our night included breakfast and it was a choice of a number of full choices with a beverage included. The waitress was friendly and helpful and received her due tip! 10/10 everything included.

Unfortunately, we got off to a bad start as the reservations we made were not honoured. We'd booked almost a year ahead to ensure we got two beds, we did not. Instead of the innkeeper, Kelly Belanger apologizing, he proceeded to call us liars. While I was reaching for my paper reservations, he finally checked his phone and saw that he was wrong. He said he would fix the problem the next day, which he did. Never once did he ever say " I'm sorry" or accept responsibility for the upset and frustration caused . While the inn itself is quirky and could have been fun, having an innkeeper so rude is simply not acceptable. The rest of the staff we saw were lovely, but then again there was little interaction. Would I return? NO! I don't like being called a liar ,nor do I appreciate people who cannot say sorry when making a mistake.

I recently had the opportunity to stay at The Courthouse Inn. I was excited for the unique history and decor. But, unfortunately, my experience was less than satisfactory. Well done reno of a historic building. Kelly has worked hard to make it into a uniquely interesting boutique hotel, adding antiques and historic artifacts and art from the local area. The breakfasts, included in the price, are all house made, including the yummy Hollandaise sauce and house made biscuits. The room rates remain affordable. The now closed paper mill does subtract from the otherwise pristine views of the area including the Straight of Georgia. There is an absence of restaurants and cafes in the Old Town but the main part of Powell River is only a 5 minute drive away.

This is an old historic building in a very interesting part of Powell River and there is an interesting walk that you can do that takes you around all these old buildings! Building is very old so need to expect that everything isn’t as modern others but there is everything that you need including TV, WiFi, nice shower and lots of interesting photos and memorabilia to peruse! Breakfast included and it was very good! Also close to Highway 101 and access to Lund and some nice parks and hiking trails!

The Courthouse is in the historic/older part of Powell River. Access is via outdoor stairs and the location isn’t what I expected. Our view was somewhat obscured by the old pulp mill. PR is a unique town with tons of history. Definitely worth a visit.

We arrived at the hotel at 2 PM, check in time is 4PM, but they let us to check in early. The staff is very friendly. Property is clean. Room is nice, they provide apple TV, so we can stream Netflix and Prime. The cable also has a lot of channels. The property is an old building, but it doesn't smell. Lots of character, very cute. They are also pet friendly. We will be back to this hotel when we visit Powell River again.

This is an old building converted into a quasi Bed & Breakfast style Inn. Located in the Powell River historic/old section, it's about a 4km drive to the newer town area where all the typical services are offered. And while the Inn has charm & character, if our room was indicative, they all could use significant upgrading/renovating, ie, single pane/hard to open wood windows, bathroom towel rail detached from the wall, & the bathroom door didn't lock. Additionally, the included breakfast starts at 9am which is rather late. On the plus side, check in was easy, the king bed was comfortable & breakfast was tasty. Generally speaking, it's clean & comfortable but IMO 2.5 to 3 stars is the overall rating I would give it.

We had a room with two beds, which were in separate rooms divided by a door so that was a pleasant surprise. Eat breakfast in the morning was delicious and served promptly to order. The area around the hotel is a little older, but not a significant concern all in all we had a great stay!

the owner is very hospitable, warm and welcoming. That was great. a few warnings - for a few dollars more I chose a room with a patio and discovered that the patio was only accessible through the lobby not the room and overlooked a huge factory. The booking included breakfast but the restaurant was closed and i was given snacks from the fridge in an extra room. Muffins were tasty, but it wasn't the full restaurant breakfast that had been implied. There was no reduction in cost for the simple breakfast snack.

Loved the hotel, the room, and especially the delicious breakfast included in our stay! The room was well equipped and very comfortable, and the eclectic decor really made our wedding weekend feel special. It was exactly what we were hoping for! The only issue we had was that the hotel cafe was closed on Labour Day without any notice -- an issue especially since the breakfast was included in our fee. Such closures should be communicated to guests well in advance so we can prepare for a disruption in regular service.

Definitely a charming old hotel, with lots of cool knick knacks in all the hallways. However, we found our room VERY small. Only big enough for the double bed, a small dresser and a sink. Also a tiny bathroom with toilet and tiny shower stall. Didn't like the curtain separating the main room from the bathroom. Needs some TLC overall. One HUGE plus though was the included full breakfast. Choice of items including eggs benny, eggs/meat/breakfast potatoes, etc. and including coffee/tea. And excellent service, though a bit slow with only one young lady waiting tables.

This is a quaint and cute older hotel. The rooms were comfortable and clean. I only stayed one night but would stay again. I did find a bug crawling on my sheets, but it wasn't a bedbug thankfully. Breakfast is provided but doesn't open until 9 am, and I had to leave earlier than that, so I missed out on that.

The hotel is so very nostalgic and filled with so many lovey items to look over. The room was comfortable and had everything we needed in it. Kelly was an amazing host who never made you feel you were making trouble asking questions. I don’t know who he does everything he does but he deserves a holiday!!! The breakfast that’s included (yeah you read that right) Kelly cooks himself. Such a nice view, close to many restaurants and of course the Townsite Brewing tasting room. This is an amazing place to stay. It is old and while it has everything one requires is not an upscale, modern facility, which is what makes it the treasure that it is. It is full of antiques, old photos and paintings and information about its own history. The player piano serenades for two minutes every hour on the hour throughout the day. The complimentary breakfast was good and staff friendly. It is easy to access and has onsite parking. We enjoyed our two night there.
